Phantasialand Discussion Thread
chickenbowl replied to roeterich's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This could be one of the most intriguing future projects besides the RMCs being built. I can't wait to see what kind of theming interaction Phantasialand brings with this one. Definitely potential for AMAZING considering how much detail was put in Black Mamba and Chiapas! Let's just see about that layout now! -
Welcome to Central Florida!!! Seriously though, if you are ever back in Florida again, look into the "Flex Pass" - It usually last 14 days and gives you unlimited visits to BGT, SeaWorld, Universal, and sometimes some other add-ons. It's makes your visit to these parks MUCH more reasonable! Quoted for truth! Orlando Flex Pass is the way to go. My first visit to Florida was a breeze and having a hotel within walking distance to Universal was excellent. We were able to go to any park whenever we felt, no stress!

favorite inverted coaster
chickenbowl replied to coastervekoma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'll count flying coasters too, I suppose. 1) Fire Dragon (AMAZING!!) 2) Montu (Kinda slow pacing during second half... rode it 8 times on two visits to make sure it wasn't a fluke ) 3) Alpengeist (Great in front, rough in back) 4) Manta (Great layout!) 5) Tatsu (Amazing loop, good views! Wish it used terrain more) 6) Raptor (Good layout start to end) 7) Afterburn (Really good!) 8) Ice Dragon (Loses a lot of steam 2nd half... why is Fire so much better??) 9) Volcano (Great launches) 10) Flight Deck (Great for its size!) 11) Silver Bullet (the first drop sucks... pretty good after that) 12) Great Bear (Weird, short, good for what it is) 13) Batman the Ride (out of the three I've ridden, pretty good!) 14) The rest... (inverted boomerangs, imulse coasters, SLCs, SFCs, Vekoma Flyers) I'm still hoping to ride Nemesis, Katun, Pyrenees, Banshee, Black Mamba, Talon, Sky Scrapper! -

God, that's way too true! But with all these low hills it might look fast from the get go. I have a feeling this thing will haul once it warms up! -

Possible and not Possible. That was the comment I erased after not doing my homework upfront. Look at these pictures of the footers of the Lift: Source. The footers have the bolts in a square and not in a circle like the pole, I have no idea what purpose it will have maybe it will be placed there (adding a piece to make the bottom into a square) or maybe it is the Chimney or a axel for the wheel up top. Right now I have no idea what it is suppose to do. I think that weird support may actually be for the smokestack/chimney coming out of the station. -

Lagoon Discussion Thread
chickenbowl replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I believe somewhere it stated there will be a viewing area but I'm not 100% sure. I was imagining the queue will wrapping back there too. We will see, but I'm sure the park will want to show off everything! -

Here's a new update on Cannibal. The pictures from Superdude123 on lagoonisfun.com The dive loop on top of the station is going up as well as the odd dip afterwards! Notice the finned piece of track lagoon posted earlier is in the valley after the dive loop and before the next element (an overbank through the immelman). You can see just the beginning of the fins after the dip on track behind the waterfall structure. There's been speculation as to whether the LSMs are braking or accelerating. -
I agree with most people here, I can only see this lack of announcement as a negative thing. This is the time of year when families start planning trips for the summer and judging by the BGW website, they would have no idea that BGW is opening something new this year. I am not a person who likes marketing by any means, but there's a reason why you should use it, it will bring people to your park! I LOVE this park, but they sure have made some odd decisions in the past few years... Holiday World announced their coaster last JULY! I'm sure everybody around the park is well aware of Thunderbird by now.

At first I was pretty underwhelmed by this layout due to the lack of airtime outside of the first drop, but after seeing it go up I can see the similarities between this and Millennium Force. It's close to the ground, fast and long; a big difference from most other B&M mega coasters! And I'm almost positive this ride will go over very well with enthusiasts. Plus that drop looks like it could easily be in the top 5 best drops ever. -

There's been a number of interesting posts on the Towers Times forum from a member claiming to have seen plans that Alton Towers is getting a launching topper track wooden coaster from RMC in 2017... Could be very interesting!! I was hesitant to believe it until I saw how many realistic statistics they have written. It says about 45 mph launch speed with 50 mph top speed. It's also apparently being built on a hillside. Definitely take this report with a grain of salt, but it sure sounds incredible!

Are Alpine Coasters credits?
chickenbowl replied to K1ngdaKa88's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I do not count powered coasters, but I do count traveling, water, and alpine coasters. I don't care if it's self-braked on or, if it uses purely gravity, it's a coaster to me! But I do think that collecting all B&Ms or Intamins or RMCs is a much more impressive feat than having X credits! -
