  1. Out of the ones I've been to 1. Cedar Point 2. Knott's Berry Farm (Major improvements recently! Still hoping for another major coaster) 3. King's Dominion (Purely cause of I305) 4. King's Island 5. Carowinds (...Ehh) 6. California's Great America
  2. Yeah it's easy for your eyes to be tricked on that one! Now the green track crosses the blue a little weirdly, but I believe the green track will have a much more fluid (and quick) twist into the twisted bunny hop under the blue zero g. It's great to see all this track go up so fast, but I am still impatient and just want to see these final elements get constructed already!!
  3. I agree that it's odd, but I think the change is positive in terms of intensity and experience. I just want to see more of it come together. It should be completed pretty soon! Did it really change? The stall was finished today, and to me it looks like it was always suppose to. Yes. Can you tell now? Old Vs. New

  5. Here's another change to the Twisted Colossus layout. The green track coming out of the stall will rotate the other way than originally depicted. The video renders show the stall first rotating C-Cwise, pausing for the stall, then exiting C-Cwise again. Here you can see it will actually REVERSE direction of rotation and exit Cwise (similar to the stalls on Outlaw Run, Goliath, and Wicked Cyclone). What this really means is due to the right turn proceding the stall, the track will have to twist even more than originally depicted. In other words, the green side will be EVEN TWISTIER than shown! Yay!(Pictures from Our Mountain Facebook)
  6. My last credit (#287) was El Loco at the Adventuredome two weeks ago. Very fun ride with some great airtime! Photo courtesy of the TPR vid. My next credit will either be Twisted Colossus or Rewind Racers depending on their openings and my timing. I am on track to hit 300 by June or July.
  7. I'll cast my vote in as 4D Free Spin and claim that Six Flags marketing is just nearly right (still wrong )
  8. There's some people who are either locals or have a personal connection to Carowinds who really want Fury to succeed, and to them it means it has to be the best coaster ever. They will build it up so much and idealize the ride (especially before it opens) to a point where they cannot look at it from an unbiased opinion. This phenomenon is called "fanboy-ism." I get it, I do this with music, Radiohead releases a new album and I've anticipated it so much that I'd say "best album of the decade" or whatever immediately. It's only once you really move past the hype and expectations that you can truly compare it and realize what it actually is. The bottom line is that Fury is a huge marketable new addition to Carowinds that is sure to bring a TON of business for the coming years, and I'm sure it's really fun! It's great to see the park succeed in a realistic sense, I wish Carowinds all the best in their growth of the park. And although the ride is sure to be great, it will definitely NOT be in an accurate Top 10 ranking in the world. There's steel coasters, maybe even 10-20 years old that probably deliver more (Bizzaro? GeForce? Katun? Nemesis? Kumba?). But like with most theme parks, the fanboys here are the most disappointed that "their new coaster" is not the world's best like they built it up to be before it even opened. Everyone has their biases, but I surely trust the opinion of somebody who has ridden 500-1000 coasters over a Carowinds local...
  9. I may be late, but the news about the park being run by a solar farm is great! I hope this move is successful for the park and will cause other parks to follow suit. In other news, SFGAdv is definitely due for a large attraction. It will have been 5 years since their hand-me-down standup coaster and it has been a while before that. I can see them spending a relative large amount of money on this one!
  10. Looks great! I love those trains, I'll definitely stop by when I visit Knott's this year. Any word on when they're going to open this thing?
  11. This thread is a joke. I am not going to read through this, but if any single person has the audacity to ever rank twister above Phoenix, you need to rethink your whole life! You should get checked for Alzheimer's or Dimensia because there must be something critically impaired with your mental capabilities. Simply put, Phoenix is life.
  12. What irks me more than it being off-the-shelf model with awful awful capacity is the fact that they just built a multi-launching coaster 3 years ago. They could've used any other type of coaster instead. For the first time in a long time, BGW has received a high thrill attraction, but it seems wasted with this ride. It's simply an all encompassing disappointment of a new ride. Sure it's a fine coaster (at least superman is), but it is exactly not what BGW needs at all.
  13. I respectfully and completely disagree with everything you've written. I305 is a masterpiece of a coaster. I'm almost positive there is not a single existing B&M that can come close.
  14. Well it's still fun! I recommend riding it sometime when you're near. I was surprised they were running it at 8 at night when it was snowing and 16 degrees in December. It was cool to have that "coaster in the snow" experience.
  15. A good sized alpine slide opened barely an hour away from me almost four years ago and I never heard of it? Well, that's a pleasant surprise. I might just make a TR when I finish this semester. JBoss, I recently rode the Mountain Coaster in Ellicotville, NY this winter. It's pretty close to Buffalo. Did you know about this one?
  16. I agree, out of all of the great CCI coasters, Boulder Dash, the Tremors, and Raven, and Shivering Timbers are the only CCIs that might even be close the quality that they opened with! New Mexico Rattler and a few others may also be running well, but I don't hear much about those much.
  17. You're totally right! Misogynistic values in a cult-like culture are pretty cool! Everyone gets a planet, wooo! Let's spread the hate, let's outcast people who are different, what a great way to live! Regardless of how I feel about Mormons, or any religions, I will be going to Utah to go backpacking next week. My god (hehe), it sure it gorgeous out there. I'll definitely be checking out Lagoon later on this summer for sure too!
  18. I honestly want to know how amount or degree of airtime would be an opinion. It's not like some people feel more airtime than others. It's there or it isn't. I wouldn't be arguing if it was an opinion. More importantly, even if Wicked Cyclone doesn't have the insane ejector than Bizarro has, it will have more moments in total and a larger variety of elements. I'd love to ride it in the future, but I guess I will have to take Twisted Colossus for now!
  19. Against Boulder Dash? That's...cute. Boulder Dash is amazing. But an airtime machine? No. Bizarro easily has more airtime than Boulder Dash anyway. Question is will WC have more than Bizarro. Did I read that right? Boulder Dash has way more airtime than Bizarro. The back seat of Bizarro doesn't even come close to the front seat of Boulder Dash. I honestly beg to differ. Maybe I just rode Bizarro on a great day or Boulder Dash on a bad day (July, 2011 for each), but I don't think that's it. I love Boulder Dash, it was running soo fast the day I went, but at no point on any one of my 10+ rides did I feel airtime that I would even consider ejector. Whereas, Bizarro had nine of the strongest airtime moments I had even encountered (Until of course El Toro and Sky Rush...). Please reconsider what you think is airtime, as it is not what puts Boulder Dash in the top of the polls, IMO.

  21. It looks amazingly fast considering every coaster goes slower on the first ever test run. I can't wait to see a close-up of the trains a POV!
  22. Looks pretty. Should be a pretty fun little coaster. Nothing too impressive but probably enough for me to stop by when visiting Walibi Holland! Theming looks really good!
  23. Not a change! This is the bottom hill in the Top Gun Stall, the green track will be upside down over this hill. It looks like this in the animation.
  24. I know everybody is excited for the green side, but blue will have three straight airtime hills in a row here. Sometimes I think hard about what side will be my fav but then I remember it won't matter cause I get to ride them both every time!!!
  25. Some new pictures from California Coaster Kings! The small bunny hop on the blue has been put up and the Top Gun Stall will be up soon! Note that the green double down goes into the hole in the ground! There's also a lot of twisty stall track in the foreground, hopefully up by next week.
