  1. It has been a good while since I have been on a Tilt-A-Whirl, but they are pretty much the same. While in the UK last week, I rode three of the Waltzers with the best one being at South Pier near Blackpool. What made it especially thrilling was the ops that would hop from platform to platform spinning the cars by hand. If there is any difference between the two, the Waltzers seem to have a lower center of gravity which makes multiple spins a more common occurence.
  2. I think the problem on Stealth is that the bird like to hang out on the "air hill". That is where the one got hit on Sunday and one of the ops said she had seen it happen at least 3 times. Are you refering to THIS bird?
  3. My latest. These guys have just had way too much. Thwaites Smooth at the Big Blue Hotel
  4. I see that you have finally made your way back! Had a great time with you guys at Holiday World!
  5. ^ Another great thing about Kennywood, is the grease give the coasters a very distinct smell. There is nothing better than the wood/oil smell baking in the sun on a hot summer day. If you have been, you will know exactly what I am talking about. Also, up until a couple of years, Kennywood also used to lubricate their tracks from a moving train. Manually! It was a sight to behold.
  6. Viper may difficult, but other than that, I can't really think of anything else.
  7. Nice TR, but where are the pictures of the carousel?
  8. I will be there with Barry's mom.
  9. "I was at home in WV all weekend. I swear! Now take these handcuffs off."
  10. Ok. I REALLY need to know where that beer store is. Nice selection. I never know that Briess malts had such a following!
  11. Forums are a dime a dozen (no offense). It is the people and unique content that make them a success or not. Since you are currently running a board that still uses the "Invision" logo and default color scheme, you might want to go back to the drawing board and make it your own.
  12. I dig Carrabbas for it's unexplainable ability to punish my fiance with garlic breath for a duration of no less than 24 hours.
  13. ^^ Don't tell me how to ride my coasters!
  14. ^ How far away from WV do you live again. You just might be guilty by association. Anyway, say what you will about the park, the price on your son's face is priceless. He looks like he is having the time of his life.
  15. At 400 Pounds, I would say it probably isn't going to happen. The GCII and Intamin rides aren't very accomodating at all, and when my brother was at 310-315 the B&M rides were just out of reach.
  16. ^ DUDE! That coaster would have mad airtime. Can I ride? Holla!
  17. I would watch the video, but I think I have seen this thing rollback about a hundred times. Not that rare.
  18. That's what I meant. I made a visit on opening weekend a couple years ago and a bunch of us rode them because the line was very short. Todd's son managed to completely turn around his boat in the channel and hit us head on! As for the Sky Slide, you are right on. We rode that one last year at PPP and I will just let the pictures tell the story.
  19. ^ Kennywood will totally blow all the OP's physics theories right out the window. Out of all the woodies, not a single one of them has the largest drop first. But it doesn't end there. The Log Jammer and Phantoms revenge also save the second drop for the biggest. Actually, Thunderbolt saves the best for last. // silliest thread ever
  20. Don't even try to eat healthy at Knoebels. It is a useless gesture. You are gonna dig this place!
  21. Derek, be thankful that I can't fly with deadly weapons! Showing my age here a little bit, but the Thunderbolt Express was "brand new" and running the last time I visited the park. Too bad it had duct tape holding the launch sled together already. // got that credit!
  22. Of course you shouldn't miss any of the coasters, but here are some other things to check out ... Carousel Museum Carousel (Catch the Ring!) Kiddie Boats (By the HSTC. These are more fun than you would think) Haunted Mansion (One of the best!) Flyers (If you can't snap these, there is no hope for you) Looper (One of you will probably hate it, but fun) Sky Slide (Another one of those "more fun that it looks" rides) Magic Show (If they still do it) Scenic Skyway (Worth the $3) Log Jammer Satelite (You won't too may of these that operate correctly) Antique Cars (Get some great photos of Phoenix) Roto-Jets (What a surprise) Skooters (The only bumper cars that can induce future suffering) -- Food -- Breakfast at the International Food Court (Opens before the park) Tri Taters Pierogies Cesari's Pizza
  23. We were going to stop at Camden during our stay in Huntington on Sunday night, but instead had a family cookout. // Now I know ... you are REALLY scared!
