I bought a bodygroom several months ago; it works pretty well and doesn't irritate you. It's not just for hairy guys; everyone "in the know" uses it for general hygiene. I've talked quite a few ladies down here, and they say they don't like all that hair in their teeth. Or should I say if you want your girl to go someplace you gotta cut a path! Buy one and trim up! That's not what I meant. Monkeys are smart than a lot of people I know; including the coworker. Terry
-
Can we believe in some form of both? A coworker asked this question yesterday at lunch. I said I believe in a higher power, yet I think so many people evolved from monkeys. But the monkeys still are more intelligent and well behaved! Terry

I definitely prefer osx; not to mention the elegant hardware it comes on. I've converted a lot of my friends to macs and we have several in our house, including a mini we use downstairs as an entertainment center and to record my TV shows. It's connnected to a 42 inch flat panel screen and when we turn on iTunes and set the screen saver, it makes a great conversation piece, since it looks alike a changing mural on the wall. A few people want to do the same for their houses.

^Sorry I didn't get back to you; was a bit under the weather. I followed more of the diet aspects of body 4 life; but I kept my body groups separate: chest & triceps, back & biceps, legs and shoulders. Also I did a few protein powders a day, although you wouldn't need as much for weight loss. Also I made sure I got my aerobics in every time I went in and did my abs.

^Thanks! You know I say I look much better now at 39 than I did at 19; and I'm 4 years older than you--so you can definitely do what I did. Granted it takes a lot of effort and dedication, but the results are definitely worth it. I'm waiting for a picture from my best friend that lost 100lbs over the last year, but he says that he's gotten a lot of compliments--not to mention hit on! I went in for a checkup Tuesday and in the waiting room I was reading Prevention magazine and they talked about weight loss. The mag said that you will definitely hit plateaus when your body is thinking you are losing too much weight at once; just up your aerobic activity and stay on it and it will start moving again. Just don't stop because you think it's not working! Even if you don't increase it, just be consistent and eventually it will start moving as well. A lot of my progress has revolved around my eating habits and daily activities. I think now I've finally got all the pieces together for my fitness program. I've gone to the grocery store a lot more for my food and cut down on the fast food; and I'm in the gym after I get off from work. I'm going to have to do a bit of research for this Midwest Trip on how to eat the healthiest food and not fall too far off the wagon. I do know I will be eating White Castles everytime I see the building! That's my weakness...
-
If you've plateaued, then you'll need to up your aerobic activity. If you're walking you're going to have to move faster to an almost jog. Just stay consistent and don't get discouraged; the scale will start moving again! resonancej, you can find some beginning tips at http://www.bodyforlife.com That's where I started my program from.

^I know my friend had problems jogging because his arches fell when he gained all that weight... jogging isn't for everyone. However you DO have to do activities that get your heart rate up to a particular level for your age and weight in order to lose weight. My friend used to walk and it did him no good until he got on a treadmill and monitored his heart rate... which I had been telling him to do all along. Then the weight started coming off. Now that he's over 100 lbs lighter he is able to do interval jogging... his goal is to get his abs flat now! He told me he has to catch up to me now that I got the beginnings of my six pack showing. If you don't have access to the treadmill go to a department store and get either a pedometer or a watch that measures your heart rate. They don't cost that much and you can measure your progress. And watch your diet while you're working out! If you're starting to work out but you're still eating fast food you're wasting your time. Eat smaller, healthier meals. Terry

On my way to Orlando for the weekend; I thought my seasonal pass to Disney was blacked out for this weekend. It isn't. I may have to do a few rides while my room is being prepared.

Disney Crowds?
terrancew_hod replied to obeygiant's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If you want to go this weekend... forget it. It's gay days this weekend and that park and all the hotels are gonna be packed. Chances are unless you go really early, the Magic Kingdom will be at capacity with a crowd of red shirts saturday. Your parents will probably be covering your eyes from all goings on as well. I'm going this weekend but if I go to any amusement parks, it will be Universal tomorrow to kill time before my room is ready. I've already got my tickets to all the major parties at MGM and Typhoon lagoon... they start after they close the parks to guests... and those are 21+ to attend. Terry -

^ I read that was one of the side effects along with dizziness, blurred vision and nose bleeds. Maybe that's because of the caffeine it has. I picked up a bottle of "Tight! Hardcore" a few weeks back and that stuff is loaded with caffeine too; but they say not to take anything that contains caffeine in it. I have a high tolerance for caffeine so it doesn't bother me. I've also loaded up with supplements with nitric oxide in it as well. Not sure if the supplements had anything to do with it but i've lost a lot of fat around my midsection and starting to get cut. Not mention my previous four pack is going towards the six. I'm going to try get my body fat percentage done again this week to see if there was any change. I tried to use google to find side effects like i did hydroxycut, but you can imagine when you put "tight" and "hardcore" together you'll get totally different results! I gave up.

Sorry, you have that wrong... read this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070515/ennew_afp/usmediaasiaracism_070515035242 They got them off the air quick because they didn't want the controversy. But it's kinda telling how much power they're wielding compared to the NAACP. You blinked, you missed it. But it's not the last time you'll hear from them... this juvenille crap finds it way back on the air somewhere. -
Went shopping for "going out" clothes; Bought 3 shirts for $89 and a silver chain necklace for $42.

People that say "You should be a Team player" when they're actually trying to get out of working and make you do most of the work. Sorry this "team player" isn't working over the weekend while you go drinking. They had trouble when I took a day off last week; wait until this 2 week midwest trip comes... -
I had a death grip on the front bar and tears in my eyes trying to keep my back from slamming into the back of the seat. I got off that thing with my back sore and a splitting headache. I had to sit it down for a few minutes to recover. I was thinking "Isn't this supposed to be fun?"

Two things: 1) Only thing I'm scared of is Robin's dental work. His teeth are independent. Last time I've seen choppers like that, Roy Scheider stuck a gas can in it and shot at it! (that wasn't nice... i'm slapping my own hand... really!) 2) Lee Chicken... mmmm! I used to tear up a box of chicken gizzards smothered in hot sauce back in the day! When I visit the folks I'll have make a quick stop there. -
^also it looks like AznShortBoi8021 is doing a lot of aerobic activity, so the carbs support the energy for type of activity. If you weren't doing interval running all those carbs would start turning to fat. I'm doing heavy lifting (to gain weight) so I need a fair amount of carbs as well, but not nearly that much, since I would have to up my cardio so the carbs won't turn into fat.

Amen! I do look at it occasionally but it's just to see where i'm at in weight rather than gauge progress. I'm relatively the same weight-wise as last year but I have a lot less body fat and gained a lot more muscle... you tell by how clothes fit and your shape looks... and I see the beginning of the 6-pack coming in. The first time I noticed I was at the gym and I was doing my triceps and I saw some cute guy in the mirror out the corner of my eye... I thought to myself "he has a nice body"... then realized that was me! (the mirrors were angled where i thought the guy was behind me... but yeah I'm silly like that) My focus now is getting my body more defined around the midsection and arms; so now i have up my aerobic activity to support that. I'm not a real carb eater (I don't like to eat bread or pasta), so I have to get my carbs from weight gainers and supplements (the trunk of my car looks like a mini health food store). I also eat brown rice on occasion as well. I do eat a massive amount of protein through shakes, steaks, chicken, fish and eggs. Which reminds me: I gotta eat breakfast now!

What they said. The privilege of getting ahead in line comes at a price. If you can't afford it, then you gotta stand with the rest of the crowd. I'll pay extra to be able to knock out a park quicker so I can leave and do something else. With those passes sometimes i can finish a park by the early evening and have time to go home, take a nap and get ready to go out.

I'll bite: I'm as straight as Jennifer Lopez's backside. 'nuff said.

I have two: I had this one lying around the harddrive wasting space. This one was from the local newspaper where he had committed a murder. Did he get his head shrunken as punishment?

So you have one person in your IT right? That's good. But back in 1986 and from my experience that wasn't the case. I remember the first year I didn't get position because he said I was "need to join a health club" because I guess I was so painfully skinny... as he sat at his desk will his belly sticking over... which I pointed out on my way out. The next year I interviewed with someone else and got in and on my first day, in a company as large as AT&T the only minority in our department was the secretary. I did such a good job they invited me back for next year and he showed the new department, which included the guy that interviewed me the first year. The division manager introduced me to him again and I said I remember him from the first time i interviewed. "Why didn't you get the job", the division manager said? "He said I needed to join a health program cause i'm too skinny". The division manager patted his belly and said "Good job Norm". And we both walked off. And over the years, as I worked in different companies I've seen more and more diversity in the employees. So I guess after over 20 years, things can change and the workforce can be more diverse, huh? But I'm so glad you can share your experience today with mine from 20 years ago. Terrance

^You know that's ok. We really don't know each other that well, so I don't know when you're joking or not. Hopefully we'll get to know each other better when we go on the midwest trip! Fair enough?
