  1. - Riding my 100th coaster - Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster - Finally getting to Universal/IOA - Harry Potter - What can I say about this that hasn't already? Great ride, great themeing, small ass buildings, and delicious Butter Beer - BGT for the first time was amazing as well. Such good food there.
  2. All 4 WDW Parks Islands of Adventure - First time visit Universal Studios - First time visit Sea World - First time visit Busch Gardens Tampa - First time visit Fun Spot cause after all, it's HUUUUUGE! - First time visit Cannada's Wonderland La Ronde - First time visit
  3. Cause we're all going to notice the color of the spine while travelling down the hill at 148km/h (92mp/h the Americans).
  4. Seriously amazing job on the construction tour guys. I am really intrigued with what the themeing will end up being but how cool would some sort of Leviathan type statue / fountain be?
  5. Will they have to change the tag line to "It's Huuuuuuge.....er"
  6. ^True. It's more or less something the coaster communities/parks/ride manufacturers have made up that stuck. Sure there's no law per say, but it's just kind of been around since, well I guess XL-200 would've started off the "hyper/mega" craze. Regardless if you dub it the worlds first "Super Amazing Fun Time" coaster, it still looks like it will be an amazing ride.
  7. ^Hmmm, as always coming in with the top secret information. Love it! But I am not surprised. There honestly is no other reason for this trench if not to break a certain height/drop goal. They easily could have ditched the trench and just adjusted accordingly. So excited to be on the verge of a possible world record coaster rather then just a Canadian record holder.
  8. No real problem, but is there really a difference between 199 feet 11 1/2 inches or 200 feet? Is a 200 foot coaster different than a 299 foot coaster? There are both classified in the same category. To me a 299 foot coaster has more in common with a 300 foot coaster, yet people argue that one is a hyper and one's a giga. Then again I'm one of those people that has never used those terms when refering to a coaster. I just state the real height. Marketing tool or not, ever since height has been a major selling point on a coaster and names have been given to each category the following seems to have been true: 200-299ft: Hyper/Mega 300-399ft - Giga 400+ - Strata I agree that the comparison if the ride is a foot taller then another is clear as day, but just like people's heights, if you're 4'8" than you can be legally considered a "little person", whereas if you're 4"9" you cannot.
  9. Here are two shots that shows roughly how low the track actually dips below ground level. EDIT: Sorry guys, had to remove these photos.
  10. Going to post a close up of the trench in like 5min Just re-sizing now.
  11. That's actually just a hill going into the park. The first support for the pullout of the drop on the left of your pic is actually ground level to the parking lot. You can see the supports go lower then that hill in the back, however from where the bottom of the lift hill starts to where the drop bottoms out, there appears to be some sort of slight, maybe a few feet, elevation change. I've never walked it obviously as its off limits, but I do think we're going to see the 300 ft record broken.
  12. The track is about 1-2 feet below the trench level. so, potentially it could break the 300' record. EDIT: sorry kind of repeated a previous post but ya.
  13. Surprising what a 76ft difference can do for a ride. The coaster nerd in me is still waiting to find out the official drop height. When I've been up on site to see this beast in person, I still can't tell if there's any elevation change between the station and the drop. It appears there is one, even if just a little, but could be a matter of perspective. This still has the potential to have the largest gravity based drop in the world if I am not mistaken MF is a 300' drop, so there is still hope we may have a world record here in Canada. Regardless, the ride still looks kick ass and cannot wait. Going up again on Saturday to get another update.
  14. Sorry Robb again if I stirred anything up. Am I still allowed to enter on the FB page contest since it will be at random?
