  1. It was an occasional occurrence. They were running the trains very well for the most part stacking was not an issue.
  2. They're probably terrified that, with the trench, they might've accidentally outdone Millennium Force in some aspect. I'm just wondering why CF doesn't want to go over MF? I mean CP has TTD which is taller than MF. Taller yes, but not in the "gravity based drop" style of coaster. I agree though, what's the point of protecting MF now after its been open for so long. Let a new beast take the crown.
  3. Height is 306', Speed: 92mph Drop: ??? still no comment on that. I honestly don't think they will ever release that information.
  4. Many feel the fact that this is their first 300+ ft coaster that they wanted tried and true just in case, but I guess no one aside from B&M or Wonderland truly knows.
  5. I'd go with floater for the most part. The low to the ground hill/turn was kind of a unique blend of ejector/floater weirdness. Probably my favorite element on the ride.
  6. The reviews above all have it nailed. Super fast. Super smooth. For all the naysayers out there that say it looks like Behemoth, I personally feel that it's not anywhere close. Behemoth is all about air and this is all about speed and more speed. I got 8 rides in today and also a variety of seats. The back has a great pull over but not as intense as Behemoth. The view on the front is amazing and one of the most breathtaking drops on a coaster. I found the over bank turns way more impressive then I first though they would be. The turn around almost feels like an inversion and the last turn around leaves you almost hanging out. I am looking forward to riding this when it's not so windy cause you could tell that the return trip was struggling a bit due to the winds. The entrance area and sign were a pleasant surprise. The back of the sign has a little coaster track on it (will post a photo when I get home). Not a huge fan of the photo area but really not that big a deal. One thing to note though, on all their mugs and glasses it states the height as 305' and not 306'. Just kind of an odd little find. I do love some of the tshirt designs though. I will do a full photo update when I return home in the next hour or so. Cedar Fair has a winner on ita hand again.
  7. Exactly. If you think about it, even Behemoth's queue is kind of small. The crew is able to run it so amazingly that it's not even an issues except for opening year/busy days. So, don't worry, come 2 years the length of the queue will be a moot issue.
  8. Amazing photos. As for that Skittles sign I too was like wtf. I think more so cause I am from Canada. Never really got it.
  9. You should`ve seen the email that was sent, but if not: 12:30pm – 1:30pm Registration for Auction begins at Canada’s Wonderland Front Gate 2:00pm First-to-Ride Leviathan Begins 3:00pm Dinner Reception at Marketplace International Buffet 4:00pm – 5:00pm Exclusive use of Riptide, Dragon Fire, and Spinovator 5:00pm (approximately) Park will open for Season Pass Sneak Preview Night In addition, I am 69 & 70, so I will definitely be seeing you there.
  10. Crazy yes...but all of this is for a good cause. A lot of people donate $100 a month to charities, so if you just focus that all onto one charity like this, then it doesn't seem so crazy.
  11. Wow...that was fun, the auction was going crazy. I appear to be in...69th (giggity) & 70th Over $63,000 was raised. Great job everyone!!!
  12. ^Hope these pics help clear a bit up. You can see the footers there next to the track. Here is a potential no area to where the buses could drive in.
  13. Yes it was testing the entire 90min I was there with only a couple small breaks. The footers are in for the tunnel as well but not sure when the install will take place.
  14. ^Ahh, how did I not notice that? *face palm* That makes sense as that's the support under the trim brake. It all makes sense now.
  15. ^^No, it's all good, Ya, they really are moving ahead with a lot of work around the front entrance and bottom of the drop area. Here are some pics. View of the work being done under the pullout from the first drop. Coming over the first hill Getting ready for netting under the first pull out. New front entrance sign. Random cage around a support. Any idea what this is for as it's the only support with it?
  16. Or is that fact being hidden by the tunnel so that us coaster geeks won't keep going on about the possibility of this being a taller drop then MF? Things that make you go "Hmmmmm";) All jokes aside though, I am super pumped for the First Rider Auction next week. Any other TPR members taking place in it or at least bidding to try?
  17. Nobody's ridden it yet, so it shouldn't really change anyone's experience. Well, no public has ridden it, but park officials have. I am sure this really won't affect it that much to be honest.
  18. See for me it's kind of the photo nerd in me that doesn't like the idea of the tunnel. Having walked all around the layout many times during the off season, I was always impressed just how close to the drop you can get. Also, I feel it takes away a little impact of the appearance of the drop. At the end of the day though, it's a cosmetic issue and will not really have an impact on the ride. I am sure from 306' up this will be incredible to stare down at. This will have zero impact on how this baby rides so that's all that matters.
  19. So...When are the "Take the Tunnel" Leviathan Bash shirts being made?
  20. Based off the park map ( http://www.canadaswonderland.com/uploads/downloads/2012%20Park%20Map%20Web.pdf ) there is no tunnel on the park map. I know that we can't base it 100% of this, but I am going out on a limb and saying this "dark" announcement is not tunnel related. Also you can now see the entrance to Dinos by Lucy's Tugboat and exit next to Boo Blasters. I am actually looking forward to doing Dinosaurs Alive this year. Any change in the $1 up charge for the show? It seems the reason it was done is Cedar Fair is essentially "renting" the movie rather then buying it as part of the Dino Alive stuff as well. Part of the benefit to this is that the company doing the Dino Alive exhibit will be responsible for upkeep etc. ^Sorry didn't see your post before I posted mine. Not happy about this, but who cares in the end...only a cosmetic element. Still will be a great ride.
