  1. There will be multiple drops on the ride. The officials won't say how many but I'm speaking with PR they mentioned multiple drops. The first drop is definitely a lift hill into a gravity based drop so the credits nerds will be debating this one for a while. The finale sounds special. Though they wouldn't say much they did say it would be something very neat and "thrilling". I think this is a perfect fit for the park. Also I was told it will be 5 trains with 8 passengers per train.
  2. ^Thad, the eye was the visual injury, the fact that I still cannot fully lift my left arm without screaming in pain was the true pain I felt that day. I'd do it all again in a second. Loved that place so much and it lived up to all the hype I had heard about it.
  3. Well, during the conference call I do believe they said about a new "Interactive dark ride experience" or something to that nature. Could it be a shooting dark ride? Sure. Could it be something completely different that we've never seen before? Hell ya! Is it something new and creative for Wonderland and Cedar Fair? Damn Skippy. Whatever it turns out to be, I am intrigued. Regardless of manufacturer, I do not believe we are going to get any mediocre ride here. If there intention is to use Wonderland as the test site, they will probably do something real good here.
  4. My first thought when the video ended was "Well, that was a video". Horribly produced, cheesey, lame, and annoying as hell. I honestly lost interest in the announcement as soon as they opened their mouths. I've seen used car lots have better videos than that. The hotel make over looks and sounds to be all cosmetic rather than anything practical like I don't know, elevators maybe in the old section.
  5. The Haunt site is now live and we are having 10, yes 10, mazes and 4 scare zones!!! That is amazing. The list is as follows: Clowns At Midnight Club Blood Cornstalkers Louisiana Scream *NEW* Mother Noose Sci Fi House *NEW* Streets of the Undead Terror of London The Asylum The Ruins *NEW* As mentioned before The Ruins and Louisiana Scream will be inside Wonder Mountain. As for Scare Zones we get: Carnevil Ghostly Pines Toys Steampunk Seems they took Iron Empire maze and noticed it would be way better as a Scare Zone rather than a maze. I am pumped for this indeed. Also new this year is a show called "MYSTERION THE MIND READER" - "New for 2013! Watch the dramatic psychic power of this master mentalist read the minds of the most unsuspecting mortals." That should be interesting at very least. Also, Screamscape has confirmed that the 2014 attraction will indeed be inside Wonder Mountain. It was mentioned during a Q&A at an ACE event over the weekend. I cannot wait and I will be in attendance on Friday morning. https://www.canadaswonderland.com/haunt
  6. I am so excited. If this is indeed a dark ride, or some variation of one, I will be super happy. I've been hoping for a new dark ride and would be honored if it was in my home park. I will be there for the announcement on Friday next week bright and early.
  7. OMG that would be amazing. I do find it odd that they have one more maze to announce but haven't been able to do so. With the build up they need something that's equal or above the already announced mazes and with rumors of it being Resident Evil, that just doesn't scream "OMFG I have to go to HHN to see that Resident Evil maze".
  8. Everything looks good. These were uploaded from an iPhone.
  9. Yes you did. The spinning coaster was enough of a reason to go to that park. I was VERY impressed.
  10. It's very different in the sense that it's a lot more gory, no comedy basically, and just more gritty. Some awesome scenes in the movie should make for some amazing sets. I will say, I am sure we will be walking through a room full of dead cats hanging from the ceiling and something tells me Universal's scent department should have fun with that one.
  11. I am with you on this. Sure, the different areas would've been nice, but seeing an entire park taken over by zombies will be kind of like spending a day in Zombieland. I have never been to the event before, but I will admit the moment they announced the Cabin the the Woods house I was sold and just bought my ticket to attend my first ever HHN event! I'll also be attenending Howl-O-Scream for the first time, so it will be nice to compare the two events.
  12. Shoot the Rapids boat flips and injuries riders http://www.sanduskyregister.com/article/cedar-point/4308286
  13. Schlitterbahn New Braunfels will be my next new "park" I visit as part of the Texas-Mid America trip.
  14. ^Unless it's part of The Buckner Family that's following him, no. The Cabin in the video is just your typical cliched horror movie cabin, so it could link to Cabin in the Woods. I too feel it would be weird to have both Cabin in the Woods as well as Evil Dead at HHN23 together, however I would not complain at all. As a fan-boy to both movies I will say that I have been sold to make this my first HHN I attend. Cabin in The Woods has so much potential to be so wild and varied in it's scares. Cannot say too much as it would spoil the move for those who haven't seen it, which by the way you should go watch it now with as little information about it as possible. Best way to watch this movie is going in blind. American Werewolf in London would make for an amazing house as well. So many iconic scenes I would love to be able to walk through.
  15. The POV and reports have surprised me. I was really expecting this ride to not live up to expectations. The whole idea of a rough but good wooden coaster is something that excites me. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be beat up by no means as I ride, however I feel that wooden coasters feel natural with a little roughness to them. Looking more and more forward to the Texas/Mid-West trip now.
  16. Amazing report and some gorgeous photos. So jealous I wasn't there for the 24hr event. Maybe next year.
  17. Thank you Amber for posting this. I was up there getting some updates for the site you were on able to get a few snaps of the crews working on Leviathan, this was one of them. I will post the rest pics when I get home tonight. I got a shot of one of the cars on the forklift as well. Crazy day for winds so I am not surprised that it vallied. I now have a new credit as well, one that many may not even want but, riding Behemoth in the middle of a hail storm. That was not fun, but will definitely be a memory with me for life.
  18. I am a little evil in the sense that I tend to take first timers, or those with fear, onto the biggest/fastest in the park right off the bat. The way I see it is that if they survive that then the rest of the rides should be nothing. It's worked 3 out of 3 times so far.
  19. I am so there. Anyone with a 9-5 should have enough notice to book a day off.
  20. Not sure if this was posted yet or not and I apologize if it has been. Tried searching and saw nothing.
  21. Tragic accident costs one man his life. Seems that there were a lot of safety violations that cause this incident. www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/zorbing-death-father-of-two-killed-after-1525302 A thrill-seeker died when the giant inflatable Zorb ball he was riding in with a pal plunged over a cliff. Married dad-of-two Denis Burakov, 27, broke his neck and spine after the sphere veered off course and began rolling down a mountain. Amazingly Vladimir Shcherbakov, 33, escaped with concussion, cuts and bruises. The friends' harrowing death ride plunge, in the Caucasus mountains of southern Russia, was caught on video but we have chosen not to use it. As Denis climbs into the Zorb he can be heard telling him: "Denis, you'll be like Jackie Chan in the Armour of God movie!" But moments after the giant ball sets off down the course it lurches to the right and then the left as frantic ride organisers chase after it in a bid to catch it. A man's voice is heard saying "Oh f***, it's gone in the wrong direction again" before screaming 'hold it, hold it! hold!" Then he says: "Ah well, it's OK, it'll stop by itself." After plunging down Ganachhirskiy Gorge in the Dombai resort, the orb eventually came to rest about one and a half kilometres away on a frozen lake. Mr Burakov was still alive when he was found by emergency services on January 3, but he died on the way to hospital. Police commander Sergei Shuvayev said: "The orb went on for about one and a half kilometres, jumping on the rocks and hitting them." The Stavropol edition of the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper reported that Mr Burakov's friend was "extremely lucky". It said: "As for whatever they felt falling down the slope it is hard even to imagine. Some compare the pressure to what cosmonauts feel." Police are investigating. Zorbing, first tried in New Zealand in the 1990s, puts riders inside two balls with an air cushion between them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19gFJnrmiO0
  22. I love watching B&M's go up. Something about how quick they can piece these beasts together just amaze me. Should be great riding this on the Texas/Midameria Trip this summer!
