  1. I watched the show on Monday and it was ok. I find that it was very short, about 5 minutes if that. It's essentially bits of a few classics songs with snoopy dressed as a conductor and the fountains going off like a mini Bellagio Fountains. It works though to get people together at the front gates which is where most of the major shops/food stands are and I think that may have been part of it as well. I think if they lengthened it and perhaps make the fountain sprays larger than they had them it could be a great show.
  2. Also to note it appears it will be a 42" height requirement.
  3. Great find. So, based off the new height and details, I am still going to stick with the idea of a Verbolten style drop track. With a hybrid ride like this I am sure almost anything is possible so I guess time will tell.
  4. With Guardian still not open yet and not much other than cosmetic elements left for the viewing public to see, I figured I'd start a discussion on the rides finale. In an interview with the Toronto Star, Dave Phillips (VP of Marketing and Sales) stated the following about the finale: What does everyone think it would be or even what (realistically) would you like it to be? Of all the things that keep going through my mind I keep thinking drop track. The ride climbs to 60ft off the ground outside, loses about 5-10ft from the initial drop/dip and then goes inside to what we don't know about. Based off where the station is etc. that leaves about 30-35 ft (approx) of a decent it needs to make inside the mountain to level back to the station. A couple dips inside plus a section where the track drops could achieve this. Let me stress that this is just my thought (and maybe a dash of wishful thinking) and I have as much knowledge about what's inside as anyone else. *Quote taken from www.thestar.com/entertainment/2013/09/04/canadas_wonderland_marketing_guru_talks_up_4d_ride_wonder_mountains_guardian.html
  5. Sorry for the double post. Inside the mountain are several levels. Thunder Run is on the upper level. WMG takes maybe 1 or 2 levels below and the Haunt Mazes last year were in the lowest underground level. Here is a shot taken during construction. You can make out the multiple levels for a reference. 6. I think the cell tower situation is right. Maybe they went with the colourful design to blend in with the park a little so it doesn't look too awful. I'm guessing that since they had police next to the structure rather than park security It makes sence it's not for a ride or attraction.
  7. The structure is for a cell tower. Here's the permit I found a while back which was filed in 2012 for the tower. http://www.vaughan.ca/council/minutes_agendas/AgendaItems/CWA0904_23.pdf The description and diagrams perfectly match what we have seen. Also the ad on the radios makes NO MENTION of a "NEW" waterslide...just a triple drop (probably referring to the Plunge). Just to clarify, I never said "new". I'll say this, that's one funky looking cell tower lol
  8. Supports in the parking lot for what I'm guessing is the triple drop waterside everyone is talking about and that the radio as mentions.
  9. Quick WMG update. It's season pass preview night and just wanted to send a couple pics showing more rock work done over the entrance as well as that "suspicious" track work is now fixed and bolted into place.
  10. There are actually 6 funnels. Topsy Turvey is actually 2 slides (3 funnels each). Also, I haven't heard the commercial yet...what cstation was it on? (By now its probably a lost hope...for all we know the park could of pulled the ad but begs the question if they meant do this...). Regarding the supports in the parking lot...the only lead I was able to find was a pic of a slide in Japan using a similar support structure: http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/t1.0-0/q71/s480x480/969185_539732972757628_1211872177_n.jpg Just heard the ad on the radio myself. I don't think they would air it in error as these ads must be approved and signed off on and everything like that. Just another thing to be excited for in 2014.
  11. He was exaggerating. The capacity on this ride has always been an issue and this should help increase it greatly.
  12. The track was just put into place this week. They probably didn't have time to bolt it in and I am 100% sure they already know about it. The ride is still very much under construction.
  13. I believe the trains will rotate minimal of 90 degrees when inside the mountain.
  14. ^there was a crane in that area on Thursday so I suspect the track pieces were placed in temporarily but not fully bolted in. If I had to take a wild guess I would guess a mid May to early June as am opening date. Again, only a hunch.
  15. Here are the trains on the track. They look great in my opinion.
  16. First photos of the vehicle on the track. Will post again if it comes out of the station.
  17. After riding I can safely say the seat belts made zero difference in ride experience, however load times as crews are learning was much longer.
  18. We are set to get slides from the former Ontario Place. I will be at the park tomorrow for the first of 3 bank days. I'll be checking out the following: WMG update (hoping it's open based of comments they've said on FB but we shall see) Seatbelt situation on Behemoth and Leviathan (Diamondback got seatbelt so I am curious) Waterpark update I'll keep everyone posted of anything major.
