SFOG on the 4th with 2hrs. to ride......
Mr.Six replied to noyzz's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Of course you should contact the park if you think you've seen a safety violation. Sooner is always better than later though. But you have to make sure you saw what you think you saw. Just the other day a group of guests came up to me complaining that before they got on the ride attendant didn't check restraints, when in reality a ride attendant from behind checked them first. _six -

Alright, I feel like I should probably post in this thread. For those of you know don't know, I work at Six Flags Magic Mountain and I'm an attractions lead there. Currently stationed at The Orient Express. What happened last night is horrifying and won't be tolerated by me. When Elissa alerted me about the incident last night, my first priority was to notify Operation supervision. They are aware of the incident Please understand that safety is our number one priority at Six Flags; cases such as these won't be tolerated. Because of what happened I'm going to suggest instilling a new wheelchair and stroller policy at Orient Express to help avoid similar situations in the future. I really don't mean to come off as a "Six Flags fanboy" but just someone who has seen it from both sides. Just note that what happened will not be forgotten, harsh discipline will be given, hoping a new policy will be added. Because of some obvious reasons I can't say too much else. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. _six

Huh...Jet Stream has one and Log Jammer doesn't? I wonder why Log jammer doesn't have one? That's really weird that Log Jammer doesn't have. I remember when I use to work on Log Jammer guests would always ask if the ride took a picture. I didn't really like Log Jammer, it was kinda boring just sitting there in the hills....at Log Jammer. The perfect place for a camera on Log Jammer would be 1.26 of the way through the ride...it would catch the smiles of people ready to tackle that first lift that sucks to evacuate from...on Log Jammer that is. -mike

Because I have nothing else better to do... -Goliath- Right before first camel back. After turnaround following first drop. -Scream- After first loop. -Viper- After block brake, in the middle of whatever the hell that element is called. Batwing...thingy. -Tatsu- Right before the entrance to the Pretzel loop. -Riddlers- In between the two dive loops. -X- After the first raven turn at the bottom of the drop. That's it. _six

Just to clear this up to end any sort of confusion. Tatsu opens late A LOT. But its not one of the rides that's schedule to open at 11 each day. Such as Ninja, Jet Stream, etc. Sometimes the problem is maintenance, and with that you kinda have to bite the bullet. But usually its simply just late block check. Tatsu's block check takes a bit longer than the other rides, and their crew arrives at the same time as all the other operators. I say schedule the Tatsu crew in earlier than that. _six

Disney, SFMM Trip planning in LA area September 2007
Mr.Six replied to Purplepills's topic in Ask Alvey
When the gates open at SFMM RUN to X. After you get off X skip Tatsu and just try to hit up the back of the park as much as possible. Do some smaller stuff...perhaps grab some lunch. After lunch buy the flashpass and hit up Tatsu and any other major ride you missed due to long lines. ( Keep in mind that Deja vu doesn't take Flashpass but it has a single rider line) Same with, X...but you should really take care of that first. Usually all the rides open on time...minus Tatsu. More than half the time its late every day, but you should skip that first thing in the morning any way. As far as places to eat inside the park. There's a new Johnny Rockets inside the park, great burgers but be prepared to drop a few pounds in the wallet. Katies Kettle near Tatsu and Rapids is also decent. Gotham City serves Papa Johns pizza which is good. I've never had a problem with Moose Burger Lodge, ( But order something off of the menu, rather than the buffet). Panda Express is located by Viper, that's really good and not too badly priced. So, it all depends on what your in the mood for. If you have any other questions feel free to ask! _six -

Alright...I have no pictures but here's a small update. -A new fog machine has been installed behind the "Justice League" buffet feast sign. Looks pretty cool. - New signs have gone up over the park, promoting Fright Fest along with other up coming events that'll take place at the park. Each sign is about 10 feet tall or so. - Fireworks @ 9:25 - 9:35 PM on the weekends. Not exactly Disneyland "show" quality but they're still a nice closing event. They last about 2.5 minutes or so. Same show as last year I think. - Every employee in the park has been issued an information guide to carry around with them. - Granny Gran Prix's queue and main entrance is under construction but the ride is still open. - Small parts of Flashback have started to be taken apart...such as parts for the gear box. - The Batman Begins stunt show started up again on May 26th I think...it has three shows a day. ( Not sure how many on the week days though ) And..that about does it. _six

Yeah...I don't know where I really stand on the whole entire "Superman not always running to its full potential issue". On one side you have reality...on the other you have higher expectations. I see it launch about 20 times a day or so, sometimes it gets pretty close to the top...sometimes it goes up about halfway. While although we coaster nerds see this, most of the GP doesn't notice that on some cycles it goes higher than others. It feels the same to them and that's what the park is concerned with. The problem isn't as easy as cutting off 50 feet of track. Keep in mind the last 50 feet or so of track is actually brakes...so you would have to actually reduce the speed of Superman and make sure that it never goes past...well 65-70 mph. Guests are going to notice that a lot more than some great launches and some not so great launches. Just my two cents. _six

^ I would only really recommend them on days that the park is very crowded. I believe they now cost $25, and you get 4 ride tickets..and I think some discount off of games. ( Not sure though ). Anyway, you can use each of your four ride tickets for one person, for one ride. So, one person could ride Goliath four times without waiting, or four people can ride Goliath once without waiting. < That's how it works. You buy them actually inside the park or I've heard that they also sell them at the main gate now. At the Flash pass center just behind Guest Relations, and at Guest nessessities under Superman close to Food Etc. All the majors rides take Flash Pass except Deja vu and X. So, it would be wise to run to X first, then make a round around the park without flash passes. Eat lunch or something, and then go pick some up. So yeah like I said, its useful for a really crowded day, but they do drop you a pretty penny. So...use them wisely. _six
