  1. That "Hi Joey" picture is awesome! I remember clearing my room for the move I made over early summer, so yeah, I feel ya. I'm sure I still have my operations handbook around somewhere. As for the colors, I'd probably go with the light blue, just because its the most settle. Good luck with the rest of your room, may the force be with you as venture on. _six
  2. To what I've heard around the park, don't expect Psyclone to be open anytime soon. Sounds like its about to go through a huge refurbishment. No idea if that is anyway related to the land being cleared behind it. _six
  3. ^ Agreed. I like working on older rides more than the newer ones. While although they might seem a little bit more 'confusing' at first they usually run a lot better and have a smaller amount of downtime. I mean, who doesn't love pushing trains at Revolution! _six
  4. The parts that were wrapped in plastic are no longer there as of today. They were there a few days ago. Also they keep acting like they want a crew by the Jan. 12th date. Although, all that considered I still will be shocked if it does open by its set date. No 'heavy' activity has been seen yet. _six
  5. ^ Bunny World is just going to the dogs without me. _six
  6. ^ Actually when we first arrived they were having pretty good dispatches. But when they started loading handicap in the flashpass rows, it all went downhill. Then it broke, and after waiting for around 15 minutes or so we just went back down the flashpass stairs which was more of a thrill than Tatsu would of been. _six
  7. Panda is okay, but usually we just go out for lunch. _six
  8. ^ Yeah, I agree. He's totally lame. _six
  9. On some rides they'll let you pick. On rides such as X with a constant stream of handicap people we switch up the rows. So no one row (including the front) is taken too often causing that row to back up. _six
  10. ^ After entering the park you can go up to Guest Relations which is located right in front of you and ask for a blue handicap pass. They're free and no proof is needed. You can use it on all the major attractions, while the slip leaves out rides such as Revolution and other 'majors' they are still valid there. What is suppose to happen is that they'll give you a time to come back, judging by how long the line is. However, chances are you'll just be loaded up within a few trains. Seeing as how the park is really empty during this time of the year. At the moment the number of people per slip escapes my mind, I think its four people. Usually if there's only one more person in the group, we'll just let the whole group ride together without the need of a seperate handicap pass. Hope that answers some of your questions. Hope you have a great time. _six
  11. Amanda, I completley agree with you in regards to ride ops not being as enthusiastic during the months that the park is empty. (Considering that most SFMM ride ops aren't very enthusiastic to begin with) Just going by personal experience, I find it much easier to move through the day with a packed ride, and you always having to move around, interacting with guests, and just finding a rhythm to work with. And by rhythm I mean work ethic not the current playlist on your ipod. _six
  12. Just thought I should point out that today the pathway from the Rapids area to Samurai Summit has reopened. _six
  13. Wow. My thoughts really go to you guys as I can not even begin to imagine the pain you guys must be going through. _six
  14. I always liked him best in Young Frankenstein. _six He rocked and will be missed.
  15. As long as Wonka remains the sponsor of Scream I could care less about any theming. _six
  16. ^ Of course it varies situation by situation but park employees can never actually give any sort of first aid. Like I said, it varies by case. All that employees are suppose to do is call security. Many times we are alerted that a guest has fainted in line and we go out looking for them. Sometimes they want to stay on the ground for a while and sometimes they want help up after a while. I don't know what happened in your situation, but they should at least be over talking to the guest who fainted. It seriously is just a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo. So, it sounds like they didn't do a whole lot to make it appear that any action was being taken, which is something they should of done. But just be aware that park employees can't try to move the person or anything like that. _six
  17. A new pic. Here's me....bored at work.
  18. ^ Glad to hear you had a somewhat good day at the mountain today. Crowds today were extremely light. I don't think Tatsu's switchbacks ever got full. _six
  19. Just to comment. It does seems as if the park is serious about January as they are already making up a crew for X. _six
  20. Happy Birthday man! _six
  21. I was really surprised by the number of employees that showed up along with the number of guests. So yeah, it felt like a regular Sunday crowd. Busy, but not packed. _six
  22. Well, I suppose I should post my opinion. Where I feel a large portion of the problems involving employees on cellphones/out of uniform come from is the leads. Now, I know a few leads who will actually write up their crew members for continous disprespectful actions towards guests such as being on their cell phone. While although they for the most part are unpopular with ride ops, their crew is almost always on top of their game and at least in the leads' vision, aren't doing anything against park rules. While although the leads might be in charge, I hardly see them setting a good example. And its very refreshing to walk into a ride with a lead who doesn't put up with any type of BS. A lead is the supervisor of an attraction and they should stop worrying about how it'll look socially to fellow workers and should rise up and make it obvious that they are the ride ops' supervisor with the right to enforce park rules. Not all leads are like this, but too many of them are. Its a common thing to see an employee walking around on their cell phone and getting stopped by either security, safety, or any department supervisor. But I'd be shocked if it ever went past anything other than a verbal warning. I have more opinions but all of which have already been stated somewhere along this thread. _six
  23. Massive concrete and trashcan plaza. _six
  24. Awesome photos! Its always cool to see these retro pics, just seeing how the parks have changed or have stayed the same over the years. I personally have always liked the look of this park more than any other Disney park. _Six
