Yeah, Superman is the only ride that will close due to the rain. X can't operate if there are moderate winds. Keep in mind that while although only Superman closes in the rain, rain has a way of breaking rides. But damn, those water rides do find a way of being open while in storms. _six *Watches Viper slip down the lift.

So, I dropped by the Mountain yesterday just to check out Psyclone. There was no need to really take any pics of my visit because nothing has changed. - Workers were at Psyclone still removing smaller components of the ride. - Absolutely no work has been done to Flashback, it remains completely untouched. - Operations were terrible. Rides closed (that I saw) Log Jammer, Half of BBW , Spinout , 2/3 gotham city, Goldrusher, Jet Stream, Tidal Wave, Deja vu, Ninja, and Scream. Roaring Rapids has been closing at 4 PM daily, so I'm not sure if it was open or not earlier in the day seeing as how I didn't get there until 4:30ish. I really am suprised that the park was open on Monday, considering the lack of staff they knew they would have. -Deja vu has entered its period of rehab. - Ninja is being painted, hard to get a good look at the entire ride but I'd say 1/5 of the ride has already been painted along with its supports. _six

Has anyone ridden both X and Eejanaika?

^ What would that be exactly? Wait a year until something explodes then throw it into a 5-6 month rehab? _Six -

Yeah, that was quite a weekend. Also my earlobe getting cut off wasn't great either! _six

'Decent' is by far the best compliment I've ever gotten! Jahan, I agree with you 100%. The crew is actually a mix between old and new. In terms of having worked at X before. Chances are the people who attended to you are new to X, seeing as how those aren't certifiable positions. So yeah, in my eyes we have a rhythm until there is a minor issue and then things slow down. Which like you said will hopefully improve as time goes on. It is sadly true that crews don't last too long at SFMM. I think its one of the most important factors at a ride is having a crew that is experienced at the ride and can read off of each other. I just hope the new X crew will last together long enough to establish that. And Brent, I personally like the back the most. Inside seats are a lot smoother than the outsides. _six

I loved my trip to Washington D.C. Of course I was only around 8 or so, so I'm sure if I was to go back I'd find it a lot more exciting. But nevertheless it was a great one day trip. When I do make my way back to the east coast I think its one of the places I would like to go back and revisit. _six

JD's February 4th SFMM PTR

Hey, nice TR! Looks like you guys had fun today. Also its great to see that Ninja actually does have a 'painting' sign out front! Stupid Sky Tower leaving its manual out like that. _six -
Yup... I'll just tell you guys what happened before all other 'rumors' come in. Last phase of block check was being done prior to the park opening. And upper lift wasn't resetting. A train was stuck at upper lift for around 2-3 hours. Then we dispatched another train and it went about 20-50 feet up the lift. Around 3:30 or so we finally were able to get both trains and restarted block check. At 4:00 we opened up the ride and everything ran smooth since then. Usually X closes its line one hour prior to the park's opening however in this case the park decided to close the bridge at 6. So yeah, rough re-opening for X. But hey, at least they got it open before the park closed. And yes, Goliath was open today. _six

I'll reserve comments involving the new rumored area of the park until we get some more proof . But just the closure of these two rides is in my opinion great progress and hopefully they can build something productive on the spaces. Never even been on Flashback but I always heard how empty it was, and as someone who has actually worked on Psyclone, I can tell you it was rare that we got the needed 17 riders to dispatch the train earlier in the year. So yeah, good choice I think by Six Flags. Great thing though, that my last ride on Psyclone was actually very enjoyable! _six

Well, everyone lost their certification on December 31st, 2006. While I think everyone has already retaken their test, they still need to be watched in position for a given amount of time. Yeah, Joey. I haven't seen any crackdown on the whole cell phones being used in front of guest. Its going to have to be the leads who enforce it, not the supervisors in 95% of the cases; and they sure aren't going to. _six

Okay, so this is REALLY crappy compared to Jahan's updates but...here's just a little run down on what's going on. - X is scheduled to reopen next weekend. - The Grand Carousel is in pieces and has entered a period of refurbishment. - Six Flags issued a paper stating that they're going to start cracking down on employees on their cell phones. (Now its a matter of if they come through and take advantage of this) - Not sure if this is new or not, but I noticed that rides that are going to open late now have actual signs out front stating that they're going to open at 11 AM. Anyway, nice to see some actual signs. - Roaring Rapids looks like its going to be down for a while starting soon. _six
