Do We Have Any Bowlers in the Crowd?
Hercules replied to GeorgiaDawg278's topic in Random, Random, Random
Alright, let's see..... My father has owned a small bowling alley in Port Jervis, NY for almost 30 years now. It is an old house with wood lanes and very old Brunswick machines. There are now 18 lanes. There are 2 other lanes that were operational back in the day, but my dad put them behind a wall and started using them for spare parts because his intentions were to put in virtual golf, but he had some financial troubles with the place back then and it never happened. Now they are just sitting there behind the wall and being used for storage. I haven't been an active member in a league since I moved out a few years ago, but when I was I think my last established average was a 207. Last year I was going home fairly often and working once in a while and would sub in the one league and was averaging 218, but only got 15 games in so it wasn't official. When I went home for Christmas I hadn't bowled for about 6 months and a team needed me for a game because a dude was late and somehow I pulled a 258 out of my butt. Minisink Lanes, my dad's place, for sure isn't an easy place to bowl. On average about 3 guys average in the 200's for the year. There are a lot of pretty good bowlers there that go out and average an easy 200 other places in the area. It is just a mix of the wood lanes, the old sideboards and the inconsistancy of the lanes that make the place hard. People have nicknamed it "The House of Horrors". Hmmm..... I have had the same ball for probably the last 5 or 6 years - Danger Zone. And it was used before I even started using it. I used to be into bowling a lot, but it just got old. I guess that is just what happens when you grow up in a bowling alley. My dad is getting older and planning on retiring soon. I think I'm going to do a PTR of the place when he decides to give it up and give everyone a backstage tour when I have the chance. -
Ladies only swimming sessions at your Pool
Hercules replied to verticalzero's topic in Random, Random, Random
look up the goddamn definition of racist and you will see that you sound like a moron for using it in this context. God I HATE people using that word when half the time what they are discussin has nothing to do with racism. Same. Anyway, there are times for adult swim at pools, is that wrong? Should the kids be rebeling because they aren't over the age of 18? Is that so-called "racist"? -

Hercules replied to PKI Jizzman's topic in Random, Random, Random
Eh, I've seen worse than this. I did call out of work today though. It was good to get a day off, but I am now looking at grad schools, doing resumes and cover letters for part time jobs and studying for my microeconomics test for tomorrow. -
GCI Intern Website

That is really cool. Any marketing intern spots available? I wouldn't mind making the 2 hour commute every day to work there. -

Rome if you want to
Hercules replied to Hercules's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Alright, thanks a lot guys. These are pretty much the answers that I figured I would get. I guess I will just have to live with going to see the Vatican and crap like that I was kind of hoping to do something really fun over there in terms of coasters though. -
I'll be making a trip to Italy over Spring break. I'll have a day or two to myself, and I was wondering if there are any parks around Rome that I could make a half day, or even day trip to. I've been looking at RCDB and Google Maps, but just can't get the logistics of it all. Thanks!

Meh, fun. Give me a straight drop any day. -
I didn't get the three things that I asked for: MAXX Pass, Six Flags Season Pass renewal, Tiger Woods 2007. But I did get a few things that I needed like a couple new coats and some socks.

Cedar Fair and Trash cans
Hercules replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
After caving in and going to Dorney for the twilight special on the last night of the season, I found it hilarious that there were trash cans in the parking lot! Holy crap. How funny but yet so sad. -
Cedar Fair and Trash cans
Hercules replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't really mind the trash can thing considering they did that whole study on having them every so often to minimize litter within the park. If they think that will minimize the litter, then good for them. I just think it looks utterly ridiculous to have them all over the place, and really makes the parks looks more and more commercialized. -

I leave the coaster scene for a couple of weeks and my entire world comes crumbling down.... -
Well, we were able to mix them in with the cooked Ramen. I just went nuts waiting for the stuff to be cooked so I just started downing the packets.

What the hell? I had never heard of this until now and it is just plain weird. I am reminded of this right now for some reason. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastafarian At least that one is kind of a joke. This.... this is just plain weird to me.

Hell freakin' yeah I do. Sometimes I just eat it like a candy bar. I rip open the package and just eat it. Other times I crunch it up and eat it out of the bag. Other times I just let it sit in a little bit of water for a few minutes so that it gets a little soft (not that soft) and crunch on it for a while. A few years ago one of the events in my dorm was the Ramen Bowl. The guy who ate the most packages of Ramen in an hour won the title. The cooking process was really slow and I went through 3 bags really quickly, so instead of waiting I just ripped open a package and just started chowing. It was kind of barbaric and nobody could believe it for some reason. Then, I had to eat the seasoning pack. That is what did me in because that was pretty gross.
