  1. Who's Brett Farve?
  2. ^ Yup. That was an addition to make Kingda Ka "better" than Dragster.
  3. ^ I don't really think that "non" coaster enthusiasts see this ride as really similar. The fact that we as enthusiasts are making the argument that it is similar is because we are nerds and analyze different aspects of the rides. Most people will see a new ride being advertised and be excited to get to it. After they ride they can give a fair assessment of it, but chances are they will just see it as another different ride. Who will be the 12th rider? A high ranking official? Someone from the design team? A celebrity? Who knows?
  4. I believe the 3 Point Challenge at Dorney is $5.
  5. ^ Considering that was in the testing stages, I don't really think that is relevant. Kingda Ka rarely ever rolls back during operation.
  6. Ahhhhh...... so it's like Washington D.C. I get it now.
  7. wait, I thought Dubai was in Nebraska?
  8. A friend of mine teaches 9th grade alegbra. A word problem stated that a train would leave from London at 9AM and reach its destination at 12PM. One student said "Where is London. Is that a state? Like Denver?" Another student said, "No stupid, London is a city in Paris!" Jay "True story - so I'm not really surprised" Willis
  9. Dubai, Nebraska. That was good. lol I wonder what country they're going to feature? South America? Antarctica? North America? Asia? I didn't know they were countries! How about, I don't know, Dubai?
  10. Eh. If you go during the week, even during the summer, crowds are still light. During Hydra's opening year, lines on Tuesday and Wednesday for the major rides were 10-15 minutes long at most. The crowds get hard to handle during the weekends, but a lot of people are usually in Wildwater Kingdom at that time. If you hit the park either in early May, or September, there are barely any crowds.
  11. ^^^ Right, it is the locals that cannot drink. However, why would Busch put themselves through that kind of trouble? It would take extra time to, I guess, check I.D.'s and stuff like that. And imagine if a local got their hands on the beer, all hell would break loose. I'm not sure if the company would want to have that kind of liability on their hands.
  12. Dubai? Very nice work here. I love the pictures. I'm not too excited about the opening of this, but it is great for the company I'm sure!
  13. It would really depend on how you look at it. I think that a rides value could be calculated through many factors such as the amount that was paid for the ride versus its downtime, the amount of riders that the ride pushes through on a yearly basis, the extra amount of attendance the ride brought in its first year of operation..... things like that. As for pay per ride..... I would have to think that a Vegas coaster would take that considering their costs and they are pretty much open all year round.
  14. That is interesting to throw out there. I guess they could conceivably be either a spinning mouse or an indoor mouse ride, and just not be a clone.
  15. Certainly not a "lame" first attempt at a P:TR. Nice job and I really hope to see more of this kind of stuff from you!
  16. Key words are family and 48 inches. Going off of that and the Shapiro interview, I will have to go with a GCI similar to Evil K.
  17. It's official, the world will end on December 31, 2099. The calculator says so.
  18. ^ Dude, no need to get snippy. I am just saying that it is their niche to be an amusement park, not a theme park. It's just not their thing. If you don't like it, don't go to the park. Other parks have theming, Dorney and other Cedar Fair parks don't. Believe me, I wasn't trying to undermine your intelligence by "telling you what a theme park is." Get over yourself.
  19. I love me some Johnny Rockets veggie burgers. Do the Six Flags parks have a decent, regular Johnny Rockets menu or is it a limited menu? http://www.amusementpics.com/SFGAdvNotesSpring07/050407-030.jpg http://www.amusementpics.com/SFGAdvNotesSpring07/050407-032.jpg It's very limited Thanks a lot for the links. My hope for a full meal is now shot.
  20. Why would you post this in a new thread if you already posted it in the rumor superthread?
  21. Looking forward to the XXX pics of Jahan and Wes. Jay "I'm so excited and I just can't hide it" Willis
  22. Just because someone doesn't live in Pennsylvania means their opinion is diminished? That is absurd in my opinion. Prices for rides and parks go up for many reasons, and Knoebels has to do it to remain as profitable they have been. Knoebels is still a good value for what it is. I mean, they offer over 50 rides and attractions on that wristband, not mention, you have the option to not get a wristband for everyone in your family if they don't ride. FREE ADMISSION is a big thing. You can take little 3 year old Lisa, and Grandma Jeanie, and not have to pay for them if they don't want to ride anything. I would say that gives the wristband option more value, since not everyone in a group has to buy one. Also, I have been to many wristband days where rides were relative walk-ons. Knoebels isn't always busy. I live in Pennsylvania. I'm not saying what you want to hear. Is my opinion diminished now? And on what grounds do you say that their opinions are diminished? Do you think that Pennsylvanian's make less money than others? What are you implying?
  23. No. I don't see existing rides being converted.
