Apparently a few rides, including Phoenix, will be open at 6 tonight. -
It's been running for a little while now.

About a month ago I finished two novels by Rick Reilly - Missing Links and Shanks for nothing. If you are into golf, these are excellent books. I tend to stay clear of fiction most of the time though. Right now I'm reading a book called The Unsettling of America by a brilliant man named Wendell Berry. After that, I'm finally going to try to finish up Fast Food Nation and then get to a few others that are on my list.

Underrated (steel) Manufacturers

I think it is obvious that there are a lot of companies that were left off, but there are only so many that can be put onto a poll. -
Guy in car pulls up to woman and asks "How much". She says, "53.06, tax included".

That has to be the most unintelligent thing I have ever seen. I'm about a mile away from the Delaware, and right now I'm basically on a quarter-mile island. That's a good thing because I'm not one of the people that got the water. I haven't left my house in about 36 hours because since I didn't evacuate, I can't get anywhere. The town of Matamoras is closed and the roads to get anywhere else have massive flooding. This is the kind of stuff that is going on in my town right now and is about a 1/4 to a 1/2 mile away from me... http://recordonline.com/photo/floodingmata/pages/etemata1.htm This is stuff that is around the area anywhere from a few miles to about 20 miles away from me... http://www.recordonline.com/flood06/readerflood4/pages/1151523158-1.htm I think these are photos from Matamoras, Milford and then Port Jervis, NY which is right across the bridge, which is a mile away... http://recordonline.com/photo/portmata/pages/edfflood2.htm

We aren't bashing Dorney, we are bashing Cedar Fair. And you are right, bashing them won't bring anything back. I love Dorney Park, but I hate Cedar Fair and what they have done with the park. I respect people that don't mind history going away as long as they respect the people that care about the history. And it isn't the fact that they got rid of it to save money on maintenence, it is the line that they threw in about "No historical value". That is the thing that really burns me. I realize that a lot of the million people that visit the park every year aren't really interested in the history of the park, but the locals and the people who have gone to the park for a long time hate to see things like this happen. Cedar Fair parks just don't have any character. Mr. Ott's insides are probably eatting him up.

Photo TR: Cliff's, Lakeside, SFEG, Elitch Gardens & More
Hercules replied to coaster1's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
My girlfriend is in Denver right now and I told her to get over to Elitch Gardens thinking that it was something for her to do. I knew they had some rough rides and stuff, but it would just be cruel to tell her to go anymore after seeing when the park really looks like. She drove by it the other day and said it looks old and run down. The place looks pretty ugly and really does look like hell. -

I was going to pick Premier, but then when I saw that the poll had Schwarzkopf on it, it was a no brainer pick. EDIT: Ummm..... -

Sounds like you had a good day. Just a little note though. Nitro didn't open in 1999, but 2001. -

I would buy Dorney Park. That would help it out a lot. Oh wait, it has already died. Nevermind. -

I think it will probably be: 1. Voyage 2. Thunderhead 3. Boulder Dash There is a bias when it comes to rides at Six Flags parks. -
Anytime there is a breakdown of some sort there is always some kind of overreaction that takes place in the minds of many people. Rides have malfunctions sometimes that cause it to be down for a day or two. I'm sure the kinks were worked out and everything is fine. It just sucks if you go to the park and expect to get a ride in on the new coaster - hence the overreaction.

It's all about the Comet at Hersheypark. Not only was it my first wood but it was my first real coaster. I even walked away with a fat lip

Random TR: Joe tries to guess Julie's Park
Hercules replied to ParkTrips's topic in Random, Random, Random
Just when you think you have found someone in the world that has way too much time on their hands, Joe comes along once again and snatchs their title away from them -
Joe, unlike you he also has a TPR 2006 UK Trip shirt. Ouch that hurt! I actually kind of felt that pain on that one...
