  1. I've never been to Cedar Point, let alone Coastermania. I'm thinking of finally making a trip this summer. Would a weekend like this be a good way to introduce myself to the park?
  2. 1 Dueling Dragons--Fire (or whatever it's called now) 2 Afterburn 3 Alpengeist 4 DD--Ice 5 Batman (SFoG--this one sticks out in my mind for some reason) 6 Montu (maybe I caught it on a bad day but Montu didn't do much for me) 7 Great Bear (this is more for the scenery and unique layout) 8 Talon 9 Batman (SFGAdv) 10 Great White 11 Batman (SFoT) 12 Goliath Looking forward to possibly riding Raptor in 2011. I'm also kind of disappointed that I only have 4 unique layouts left for me in the States. Guess I need to get myself to Europe1
  3. I count KD and BGW as my home parks. Gotta go with I305 and Apollo's, respectively.
  4. Aww--how do I get this type of survey? I'm a Platinum Pass Member. Treat me special, Busch!
  5. I guess you never heard of Hard Rock Park...
  6. Coaster and Theme Park Related: Definites: --TPR Northeast Trip! --Multiple rides on the "new" I305 --Riding my #1 overall coaster again--El Toro! --Trips to Busch Gardens Williamsburg Probably's: --Trip to Carowinds and 1st ride on I-232 --1st trip to Dollywood --Western PA trip--Lakemont, DelGrosso's, Idlewild, and Kennywood (all firsts) Possibly's: --1st trip to Cedar Point --Florida trip... Cheetah Hunt! Personal: Continue my weight loss (partially to remove all doubt about fitting on rides and coasters, but mostly for personal reasons!) Multiple weddings to attend (one in Colorado) FINALLY GRADUATING COLLEGE in December 2011
  7. Well they did build Fireball for 2009 and the US is getting Wooden Warrior in 2011!
  8. What kind of trains does it have now?
  9. Wait... no Yeti? Hurler at KD needs a makeover. And by makeover I mean "Taer it down!"
  10. Ha--this East Coaster will just keep his mouth shut in the future!
  11. You do realize that Great America is about a 6 and a half hour drive from Los Angeles, right?
  12. ^^Well, it's supposed to be a "multi-launch" coaster so that probably means no B&M. Doubt we'll see a woodie anytime soon at a Busch park. People say that Busch wasn't too happy with Gwazi (a GCI). Who knows? I wouldn't mind an Intamin prefab though
  13. Pretty lean year for me: $300 from mom (it all went to pay bills) $70 DSW gift card $25 gift card for a car wash shirt picture of my nieces (one of whom was just born in late October) My favorite gift came from my friend, Harris. He gave me Super Famicom style classic controller for the Wii. I splurged and bought myself the old SNES game Super Ghouls and Ghosts from the Virtual Console. I also got 2 B's in the classes I took so that was a gift I gave to myself and my family as they've paid witness to my collegiate academic futility over the past 15 years.
  14. I do not think this information is true. I believe your "friend" has either given you incorrect information or possibly exaggerated information for the purpose to try to prove or disprove a point. --Robb "Not buying your stats..." Alvey Negative. This was information given to me 5 years ago while he worked there, and not exaggerated on my end. I will try to get ridership stats, but this is hard information to come by at a Seaworld/Busch park. Hell, they won't even release park attendance figures. I agree that the lines may have been long but I don't think it was because it was the most popular ride in the park. Most times I went with (non-enthusiast) friends in 2005-06 we were getting back in line for re-rides on Apollo and Alpengeist, not BBW. The capacity of those B&M's are pretty good. BBW's not so much. We'd often forego the essential night ride because the line was too long.
  15. So correct me if I'm wrong but it feels like the consenus is that BBW was a fun ride with some neat elements to it. Then you have a few on either side who swear by it (best ride in the park) and others who didn't think it was that big of a deal. Most people seem to be excited about what's in store for the replacement. --Rob "had some great rides on BBW but is excited for 2012" Jowaisas
  16. I think there is an incredible opportunity here for KK to get back in the game. That chart shows that there's a history of the park's bringing in crowds and distancing themselves from what happened when Six Flags ran the park is a smart move. It's just going to take a unique new marquee attraction and a strong regional marketing campaign. Having never visited the park, I'll be going regardless during its first year operating again.
  17. ^Well, some people complained about the over-the-shoulder restraints on I305. Most people think they didn't do lapbars so more larger guests could ride. No one's claiming AD/HD is a disease or a disorder. It is an actual brain disorder. It does exist.
  18. I remember TV ads for BBW when I was 8 and the feeling of dread for this coaster they instilled. I also remember hearing about it from friends and siblings. I had a genuine fear for this ride. Trouble was that I never rode it until I was 16 so I had outgrown my fear and never developed the sense of nostalgia for the ride that other people who grew up in the area did. When I first rode it I thought it was a fun, neat ride, but kind of short. I did love night rides on it though. So when the announcement came that BBW was going away my reaction was "Aww... Oh well." and started imagining what type of coaster was going to take its place. I did pay my respects and I got two night rides in--one in the front and one in the back. When I came back this past summer I had a moment of silence as I was crossing the bridge. I missed it but more in the sense that there was one less ride for me and U2Rox to ride. In recent years though I often visited the park and rode it more out of habit or a sense of duty. Some visits it got overlooked entirely. Its greatest legacy for me now is that I want to ride as many remaining Arrow Suspendeds as possible before they go away, as BBW is the only one I've been on.
  19. ^Yeah, I can't see a Premier launched shuttle type of coaster going there. Maybe more of a custom? Premier isn't high on my list for BGW's new coaster but I'd prefer them over Maurer Sohne.
  20. ^^Also, Cheetah Hunt is basically iSpeed and Maverick with a different layout (full circuit sitdown with LSM launch). Maverick uses LSM's twice. So it's more of an expansion of an existing ride concept. I'd love to see something like this or Blue Fire come to BGW. Not so into Maurer Sohne. I'd take a Premier LSM as well but kind of have my heart set on Intamin or Mack!
  21. Not the seatbelt, but the lapbar restraint came undone while I was riding Hurler at KD. I think it was never properly secured though. One of many reasons I won't ride Hurler.
  22. He's actually gone on record as pretty much saying that this movie was a disaster. Unfortunately, he wants to make it up by doing part 4.
  23. 1) Marathoning Intimidator 305 opening weekend (pretrim) 2) Lakeside Cyclone in Denver! 3) East Coast Bash I305 ERT 4) Finally going to Knoebel's (awesome park!) 5) Night time marathon of Phoenix! 6) Finally going to Hershey
  24. Another disappointment was that I failed yet again to get the Taxi Jam credit at KD. Wasn't Kid Tums accepting cash money from credit whores like myself at ECB?
