Rather than an outright publicity stunt, it seems more like a misguided endeavor orchestrated by people without much forethought and who didn't do their research. -
What are you thankful for...
redfoot12 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm thankful to have Intimidator 305 only 20 minutes away from me (and in whatever configuration it will be in 2011). Also thankful for a multi-launch (hopefully an Intamin like at its sister park) coaster to be constructed 45 minutes away from me in 2012. Edit to add: Like Sharktums, I think I'm just grateful for Intamin in general. -

I've met Robb a couple of times and while I think he spells his name the wrong way he's always been kind and approachable on the TPR events I've attended. I think the "a$$hole" Robb people see is more a product of having to run this internet site and the necessity of having to take a line or stand about something. I don't always agree with Robb's response or stance on something but that's life in general and dealing with people everywhere. It gets magnified on the Internet though. -

I think they announced the one for 2010 in early December last year. -
The Off-Season Survival Thread

I usually switch my focus to college basketball. It coincides nicely with amusement parks' off-season. Usually I'm a ghost on the coaster boards between December and April. Also, this off-season I'm trying to lose a crap load of weight so I'll never be denied a coaster ride again (or moved to the seats for guests of "exceptional size"). I had too many close calls and walks of shame this past summer. Once I get down to 225-230 I think I'll finally make a trip to Cedar Point in 2011. -

I know this is veering off-topic but I really wish I had gotten a chance to visit GL. I was considering either GL or Dorney for a weekend trip and I went with Dorney just because it was a bit closer. A week or so later the announcement for closure happened and I kicked myself. -

Also, there were some decent rational people over there as well. But like kdfansite, it only takes a few rotten apples.... -

^^Sorry. I finally got around to visiting that site and read through those forums. There's no lacking of whackos over there. The amount of vitriol spewed towards Kinzel and Cedar Fair is mindblowing. -

I believe they have until June 2011 to get the ride off the land. What tells me that Kat is in way over her head is that she doesn't realize the priority that this should take in her life in order to get this done. If she's too busy running weekend Halloween haunts and focusing in on school (not too well, by the sound of things) then I'm just going to assume nothing is going to get done by the end of 2010. I don't know too much about Northeast Ohio weather but how much is actually going to get done January-March? That gives her April and May to disassemble everything and transport everything from the site for storage. She clearly doesn't have the resources and time. -

List the parks you have visited in 2010
redfoot12 replied to Groteslurf's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Kings Dominion Busch Gardens Elitch Gardens* Lakeside* Knoebels* Hershey* 24 new credits * = new park for me Not too bad. Looking to do more weekend trips to parks next year and I'll be on the Northeast trip. I know I'll break 150, but 200 may be within reach if I go to Cedar Point and Kings Island. -

Gotcha. I feel kind of bad myself because I didn't ride it as much this year as I should have. I did marathon it on Easter Sunday with the trims and during East Coast bash without. Awesome ride regardless. When construction first began I thought after the first drop the ride might go into those woods behind the waterpark and Rebel Yell. I've never been on Millennium Force so I don't know what those overbanks are like which I guess is why I'm hoping one shows up here. I don't actually think that drastic of a reprofiling is in the cards though. -

I haven't seen much negativity. Just speculation. -
I'm doing a strategic plan/analysis with Cedar Fair as my company for my Strategic Management class (still a year away from graduating but only 3-4 classes left). I'm thinking about using the Phoenix area as the place in which CF could add another park. If anyone has any suggestions... http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=57303
