  1. Yay for a new wooden coaster on the west coast! I hope to check the park out next year when I finally explore Northern Cali.
  2. I kind of like the new name but I think simply Walt Disney Studios would be better like the second gate park in Paris. I do like the logo though, thanks for sharing it.
  3. I never really cared for the neon Mickey Mouse ears on Screamin's loop,I think it would look a lot better on "Mickey's Fun Wheel" and I absolutely love the new Paradise Pier sign, can't wait to see it added. I've been watching Toy Story Mania's building come up, the workers have been at it nonstop and it just looks better every day. If the rest of the pier is going to look like this, it's going to be absolutely gorgeous.
  4. I know I'm a brand new Californian now, but I've only lived here for several months transplanting from New England. I was not a California or Florida local at the times I visited either park. My first Disney resort I visited was WDW's Magic Kingdom when I was 12. I finally made it to DL when I was 20 and now I see the place everyday.
  5. I'm just curious to know what the local visitors of KD would like to see as Dominator's paint scheme if it were to get one. I always kind of liked the yellow and blue when I rode the ride in Ohio, but opinions are just that, what do you think would look on it in its new home?
  6. I liked Rockin' the first time I rode it but it got old after just a couple of rides. Space Mountain is one of those classic Disney attractions that's substantial enough as is, I hope if they have to do it again they either update it with new music or maybe some effects that make it interesting but I'd rather they just leave it alone in 2008. I must admit that I really enjoy Rockin California Screamin because the only new thing they add is the music and it seems to go with the ride well. The one overlay that REALLY works and I really enjoy is Haunted Mansion Holiday, it's done right with every scene changed dramatically. It won't work for a lot of rides like Space Mountain, which loses its basic element (the dark) in exchange for some flashing lights and the Chili Peppers soundtrack. Just leave SM alone, its great just the way it is, especially since Mission 2!
  7. That's a weird spot to put Dark Knight if that is in fact where its going to be built. Then again, look where they stuck the batman themed floorless, so far from the DC section. This being my old home park, I gotta say I'm not going to miss any of the rides being removed besides Catapult and Kontiki, I actually like S&S Sky Swatters and Kontiki's kind o grown on me over the years, hopefully they put it up somewhere else.
  8. Borisdag, how could you consider DCA's Tower Of Terror as a dud? While it certainly isn't as good as Orlando's version it's easily one of the most popular rides at the resort. I think the steps the park was taking before this huge renovation was announced was a great start and this will just further improve things. Monsters is 10x better than Superstar Limo and gave the park a good solid dark ride, Tower strengthened the thrillride backbone the park was built on. I do agree with you that Mulholland Madness is just meh... but at least they're going to Disney it up a bit to make it fit better. I'm thinking about transferring over to DCA after the holidays as a Paradise Pier attractions CM, I like both theme parks about the same as weird as that sounds, but I think after this transformation is complete I'll actually prefer to work in DCA.
  9. Looks kind of awkward but also looks like it could be a lot of fun! Will we ever see one in the US? Probably not..
  10. It's great to see something official. There have been a lot of rumors floating around the resort recently of the the Little Mermaid dark ride that will replace Golden Dreams and I'm happy they're going through with the project. If it's anything like the one planned for Paris years ago this will be a really cool ride! http://youtube.com/watch?v=fBUMRk-nkdA The rides that have been strongly rumored to be removed from the pier are Maliboomer (which could be replaced by a parachute tower), The Golden Zephyr (can't run when the wind is too high) and Orange Stinger, I'd be very surprised if they touched the Sun Wheel. This will free up area for viewing the new lagoon show. Anything can happen, I know, but this makes sense to me. Can't wait to see things develop over the next 5 years, glad they're going to improve Madness and not just kill it off.
  11. I've got a theme park pin collection with hundreds of pins from around the country and overseas. My favorite pins are the ones from Tokyo Disney Sea, I have Tower Of Terror, Raging Spirits, Journey To The Center Of The Earth, Stormrider, Indana Jones and a bunch more from the park. I'll have to take photos sometime.
  12. Disneyland, in about 2 hours, I gotta go to work!
  13. Yesterday, some guests were boarding the Disneyland Monorail and asked if the monorail went "upside down alot".
  14. This ride would look so good with burgundy/red supports, I'm hoping they go with that. Thans for the update!
  15. Ahh, it figures I move to the west coast and Canada's Wonderland which used to be only a few hours away, finally goes and builds an awesome coaster. Good to see progress, I hope to ride it someday when I visit back home.
  16. My favorite ride vehicles are the EMVs on Indiana Jones and The Temple of The Forbidden Eye. They look great and the hydraulics definately add to the experience by making the ride seem rough and out of control.
  17. Wow, well done! Probably the nicest picture of this coaster I've ever seen and there have been many.
  18. Great TR, can't believe I missed what would have been my first SoCal fair, I'll have to wait till next year. I really want to try out Experience, fortunately I was able to ride Speed and Tango in Massachusetts before I moved.
  19. Looks amazing, I've been waiting for a coaster in the US with one of those inverted loops since Speed Monster was announced, the fact that it has my favorite element (cobra roll) in it doesnt hurt either!
  20. I love seeing photos from Oktoberfest, Hollenblitz looks amazing, better looking than some permanent indoor coasters I've seen!
  21. Looks pretty cool, thanks for posting the rendering.
  22. Wow, the coaster looks like brand new, thanks for the photos!
  23. Disneyland is my homepark so I'd have to say Space Mountain, especially since they rebuilt it, it's my fave coaster in the park, and only my second favorite ride in the park next to Indy.
  24. That's the coolest coaster logo I've ever seen! Can't wait to see how the ride looks set up at Dorney.
  25. Very cool, the coaster was gone when I went to Vegas and I thought I'd never get to ride it.
