Disney Attraction Playsets
ECZenith replied to ECZenith's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
ATTN FL residents Do the Disney factory outlet stores in Orlando still have any of these sets available? I'm really trying to get a couple California Screamin sets so I can make one larger model. When I was at Disney Studios a couple years ago I saw some, but I heard they have since been retired, is this true? -
Best Turnround and drop on a coaster
ECZenith replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Best turnaround and drop for me is Sheikra's loooooong, slooooow approach turnaround to the first drop and then the drop itself. The coaster ended up being my #2, second only to SFNE's Superman. As far as the most intense turnarounds... a little surprising but there's a wild mouse in Seaside Heights NJ with an unusual non-banked rise-n-fall 180 degree turn which gives you lateral negatives. (weird sideways airtime) -
Great TR, thanks for sharing the photos. I feel the same way about SUF taking forever to unload... Last week was the first time I'd ever gone on it and I thought the ride had broken down while we were in the brakes. Didn't realize it was typical. Kinda bummed Batman the chiller is never running, the inverted top hat is awesome. Can't wait to see this new wooden coaster start to take shape.

SUPERMAN SECOND CAMEL HUMP PHOTOS
ECZenith replied to rabid disney's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, you guys seem to be getting a top ten coaster over there! I can't wait to see the theming. Thanks much for providing the updates. I hope the rumors are true of Disney building in Australia, imagine the possibilities. -
I haven't been to WDW in a couple years, but last time I was there, I noticed the theme parks were selling working models of the Disney attractions to go along with the monorail train sets they offer. How many different "ride playsets" did they actually make for both Disneyland and WDW? Are these still available. If anyone has them set up at home, please share some photos.

Halloween Horror Nights 2005
ECZenith replied to jarmor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
II think I might like a more centrally themed event more than the scattered random islands they've had in the past. It should be interesting seeing how this works out. -
Halloween Horror Nights 2005
ECZenith replied to jarmor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My favorite haunted house ever was Pitch Black for Halloween Horror Nights XI. Just a completely dark maze with ocassional bursts of strobe light and a bizzare audio track. It was one of Universal's only houses that made you feel truly lost. I'm glad to see them use this concept again along with cold temperatures for a new experience. Where Evil Hides sounds interesting... the soundstage houses are always good. Anyone gonna be there Oct 16/Sunday? -

Coaster in the snow
ECZenith replied to benzo41190's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've also ridden SFNE's Superman in the snow. It was like a big snowstorm, just flurries, and the train was making it around the circuit fine. I believe it was at an ERT event, afterhours event in October. Good stuff. -

Their ladybug coaster did, do you mean that? -
Park with the best-run Flats

I also vote for LI Adventureland. They were kind enough to show me how they manually control their Top Scan. Still my favorite flat ride. -
The Wildest Wild Mouse
ECZenith replied to SteveC's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The old Miler mouse at Funtown Pier in Seaside Heights, NJ is very long and has a few unique features including a long, sweeping non banked rise-n-fall turn into a couple bunny hops. There is also a smaller, more modern mouse with a banked helix at Casino Pier down the boardwalk. Both are great rides... love the Jersey shore. -
I don't really have a problem with the name, it's one of the few gerneric names SF uses that I actually liked. I've also liked that color scheme since it was used the first time. I for one, am happy to see Georgia (or any state in the Southeast for that matter) get a B&M speed coaster... between Florida and Georgia they have one of everything in the B&M catalog.

Hey all, just got back from my two day trip to NJ. We arrived there Wednesday around 10 am. The crowds were actually pretty light, but we still got a Q-Bot knowing Kingda Ka's line would take a big piece of our day. After we got the q-bot, we all managed to get into the standby queue before the ride had even opened for the day. We waited about 15 minutes and a train full of riders crested the 456' top hat without rolling back. The line (which was out towards the tiger gift shop) moved extremely fast and we were on the second to last row of seats in about 40 minutes. Front seat is my fav on this one. This was my second trip to SFNJ in two months and on both trips I managed to catch a ride on KK. Definately worth the wait, not my favorite coaster (compared to SFNE's SROS) but a nice rush. Other coasters we hit were SUF, Medusa and Scream Machine for which we used Q-Bot to skip the lines. Nitro kept breaking down so we didn't bother q-botting it. Even Skull Mt's line was pretty bad. We headed out early to get to Seaside Heights, about 45 minutes East. Wednesday nights at Seaside Heights have fireworks at 9pm. I saw some great rides on the boardwalk but we waited until the next day since we didn't have much time left for rides. Casino Pier and Funtown Pier are the town's two amusement piers. CP has a Star Jet coaster, which is a pretty good sized Miler coaster built out onto the water, a couple of nice airtime hops, great view of the Atlantic. They also have a Miler mouse, kiddy coaster, Zamperla Power Surge, Huss Enterprise, Chance Inverter, Skyscraper, Slingshot, ferris wheel, and several other unique pier rides. THe park has a great ride on haunted house, Stillwalk Manor. The house is themed wall-to-wall, no cardboard cutouts here. Good to see modern haunted houses making a comeback. The other pier, Funtown, has gokarts, An Interpark loop coaster, another Miler mouse (much older) just like Treetop Racers, a Miler Family Coaster, S&S Turbo Drop, ferris wheel, and several flat rides. The coasters here were OK but I like the Star Jet best. This park also has a great haunted house, but a walk-thru. The outside makes it seem small but it's really quite long. I love the boardwalk parks, very well balanced with some unique stuff. Overall a good trip, thanks for reading. [/url]

I love all the Huss rides but my favorites are... Giant Frisbee, Giant Top Spin, Jump2, and Nightwing at Six Flags New England (when it's working!)

Superman's Top Hat Complete photos
ECZenith replied to rabid disney's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm really getting excited about this particular rocket coaster, I'm finally going to Australia next year. A launched Intamin with a sorta SROS ending should be pretty interesting. Glad to hear about theming (dark ride room, etc.) instead of just slapping the name on it. Thanks for the updates, much appreciated. -
Worst Arrow coaster
ECZenith replied to CP_fan_boy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Any of the dozen corkscrews I've been on fit the bill. (Almost as bad and as numerous as Vekoma Boomerangs) -
Your Favorite Six Flags Superman Coaster
ECZenith replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
SFNE's Superman is my favorite coaster of the 250 coasters I've ridden. -
SFNE is about an hour away from Lake Compounce. You COULD do both parks in a day, as I find on a weekday I can see everything in the park in about 4 hours. If it's a not-so-crowded day at SFNE, or if you get a Q-Bot, I would say definately yes.

S&S Sansei Discussion Thread

The more industrial-looking, the bigger the thrill IMO. Johnny Upside Down once again comes through with great pics, seriously man, great work as always showing us the new stuff.
