It's great to hear there's a new ride idea turned reality. Can't wait to see photos of this one. I love S&S rides, the new Screamin' Swing at Dorney is awesome, I'm looking forward to Lake Compounce's "Thunder & Lightning" -

I use the ATI Media Player as a default for all my video files. -
The lake swimming area was surprisingly clear and not out too deep. Two of their slides actually end up in the lake as well. The rest of their waterpark is modern stuff. The "lights out" body slide that wraps around the lighthouse was my favorite slide their.

What is your favorite drop ride?
ECZenith replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sky Screamer was awesome! It was so new when I rode it that they were still installing tiles on the ride buildings when I took my first ride. The view of the falls followed by that massive drop was perfect. -

I'm really looking forward to seeing what this coaster's layout will be, there's a lot of twisted track in that parking lot. -

What's up guys, just got back from a few hours at Lake Compounce and thought I'd drop a TR here. The weather was pretty good all morning, and the crowds were light except for the school groups. Lake Compounce opened it's gates at 11:00 am and we headed for Ghost Hunt which usually gets the longest line in the park. This is a fun Sally dark ride/shooter haunted house. It's fun and all but I can't really get into the fact that most of these types of rides have "cut-out"-looking props that just sort of move back and forth. I guess Men In Black spoiled me. It's good that the park has Ghost Hunt though, it's a pretty rare occurance for a park to get a new dark ride. Next was my favorite wooden coaster, Boulder Dash. If you haven't been on this Custom Coasters terrain masterpiece, you've gotta make the trip. We took quite a few rides from all over the single train they were running as EVERY ride in the dry section of the park was a walkon throughout most the day. My girlfriend's a flat ride junkie so we hit the Huss Enterprise and the pirate ship. It topped out at 99 degress today, so the line for the Saw Mill flume ride was about half an hour. We decided to skip this one for now, but I got a view of the construction for next year. LC is getting the "world's largest" S&S Screamin' Swing: Thunder & Lightning for 2006. They've barely started work but the ride will go up quick once parts arrive. Down Time, the park's new for 2004 S&S Turbo Drop was surprisingly powerful! Even better than I remember from last year. I think the time theming and the ticking clock/alarm noise increases the overall experience of this ride. So glad they got one of these towers, the park feels complete with a good drop ride. The Compounce Mountain Skyride was next. This chair lift takes over half an hour to make it up the mountain and back, pretty nice views though. We ended the day on the regular rides with Wildcat and the rapids ride which surprisngly had no wait. There was a lot of talk about a new coaster here. A couple of the staff were talking about a water coaster over the lake within the next couple of years. I'll believe it when I see it, would be nice though. Ali and I checked out the waterpark which had huge lines for slides. We made it onto the lazy river and several of the slides, and took a swim in the lake. This is a great park and keeps getting better by adding new rides... giving free soda... having friendly staff. Defiantely a nicer day than Six Flags. Riders aren't as intense but the atmosphere is perfect. Thanks for readin'

Favorite Dark Ride
ECZenith replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Tower Of Terror is my absolute favorite non-coaster ride, but I'm also very fond of the Disney jeep system... (Indiana Jones, Dinosaur...) I'd kill for a ride on Journey To The Center Of The Earth. My other favs are Spiderman and Darkastle, I love that ride system! -

I left the theater practically knowing a ride would come of that movie. This should be a unique addition to AT. -

I don't work for Disney, I have no say in what they do... but I really wished they had kept the original AE and perhaps built it up in EPCOT Center. It fit in so nicely in Tomorrowland but it would have also gone along well in EPCOT's futuristic setting. I understand that Magic Kingdom is geared more towards family fun than the kind of "scary" ride that AE was, but like some people said the word TERROR was built into the name! I mean... could a family take their kid on Tower Of TERROR and expect Barney and Big Bird? -

Besides HHN, Howl-O-Scream is pretty good at Busch Gardens Tampa. Here in New England, we had Spookyworld (which just closed last year) which consisted of about 6 haunted houses which were pretty well done. I'm not sure if this park will open again, it was located in Foxboro Mass right next to Gillette Stadium. Last year, the crew of Spookyworld had a fundraiser haunted trail at Edaville Railroad, I'm pretty sure to support Edaville though, not the old Spookyworld. Other good haunted houses are pretty much all of the ones in Niagara Falls, especially Nightmares, which has the highest "chicken exit" uses than any other house. There's a really good single HUGE house in Fall River, Mass called Factory Of Terror that opens every weekend in October. Six Flags events aren't too good IMO. I've been to SFNE's and they had one good haunted trail, and SFGADV only had a hayride. (which itself was pretty good) HHN's houses are still my favorite though, always original.
