  1. Wow... another shoot the cardboard cutouts ride. I wish they could get the Frequent Faller project going.
  2. Intamin gyro drops, I really hate ferris wheels (especially the giant wheels at fairs) , but I'll go on them if my girl wants to.
  3. Glad to see both lack the mid course brakes, nothing to kill the pace of the ride. The 2 Goliath coasters are about 1000' shorter than let's say... Nitro or Silver Star which run three trains often. 2 trains is all it could really run without stacking. By the way, does anyone know what the actual color scheme will be?
  4. Excellent news, now I'll have Nitro 6 hrs drive to the South and this one 6 hrs to the North. Good stuff.
  5. 2 hrs for Nightmare at Crackaxle Canyon (The Great Escape)
  6. I have been on... Medusa (SFGADV) Kraken Batman The Dark Knight Dominator (GL) Hydra (DP) My favorite of all those is Kraken at Sea World.
  7. I'm partial to Boulder Dash's mountain-carving first drop. The Great White at Morey's is another great one.
  8. I like B&M standups, but I can see why they're not sold anymore. Everytime I ride Scorcher or Mantis I imagine how much better they would be with either standard/floorless trains. I just prefer the sitting type of train design.
  9. Love old photos of current parks. I just came back from BGT so those were interesting to see.
  10. One final retracking of Riverside Cyclone to bring back that insane first drop, wouln't mind seing Flyers on this one. Retheme and repaint the Superman ROS at SFNE (I can't stand comic superhero themes, especially clone names unless they're actually themed i.e. Hulk)
  11. The ekirmes and ikirmes DVDs are excellent. The newer IKirmes shows High Enrgy (Zierer Star Shape) it's the flat I want to try out the most. My favs are... Giant Top Spin, Giant Frisbee and Jump 2 as well as the Mondial Top Scan (particularly LI Adventureland's) Oh, can't forget the KMG Tango, definately the most intense ride I've ever been on.
  12. 10/11/05 My girlfriend Ali and I embarked on our 8 day Florida trip around 5 am to TF Green Airport (Providence/Warwick, RI) It's only 2 and a half hours flight time so we were able to hit a park before driving to Tampa. Sea World Orlando ---------------------- Sea World is always good for walk-ons on Kraken, my favorite coaster in the Orlando area, and today was no exception. There was a 2 train wait for the front of this awesome B&M floorless coaster, but other than that, no wait time at all. After a few spins on Kraken, we did Journey to Atlantis, the park's Mack water coaster. The theming on this ride is pretty well done, and the coaster track portion is a nice touch. About a 15 minute wait for this one, well worth it. we only got one ride on JTA as we wanted to check out some of the shows and marine life exhibits. Can't wait to visit Sea World's water park in a couple years. We left Sea world around 4 pm and took I-4 West to Tampa. After staying overnight at the Days Inn directly across from the park, we went to BGT on Wednesday 10/12 just in time for opening. Busch Gardens Tampa -------------------------- The last time I had been o BGT, Montu was new, so since then Cheetah Chase, Rhino Rally, Gwazi, and of course SheiKra were all new to me. Located in the upper left section (Stanleyville) of the the park, this amazing B&M Dive Machine has changed the skyline. Ever since the opening of Oblivion, and then G5, I couldn't wait until one came to the US. The wait was worth it... This 200' tall, dive looping, double vertical dropping monstrosity is a dive machine done right. There was absolutely no line for the first hour, they couldn't even get the trains full. In my on-ride photo, there's only 8 other riders on the train besides me and Ali. We took 4 rides and then went to Kumba. Kumba is definately one of the roughest B&M's out there as it's starting to show its age, but it's my first ever steel coaster, and with the tunnel and classic standard trains, it's a classic that I still and will always enjoy. Montu had a one train wait for most of the day, I love the trench dives and batwing inversions. A very original inverted coaster, Egyptian theming looks great on this thing. Gwazi had no wait but was rough as hell. I enjoyed the ride but I wish the other side was running. (Only Tiger was running) Do both of these tracks ever duel? Rhino Rally was a nice surprise, another uniqe attraction. For those of you who have never been on it, it's a lot like the Kilamanjaro Safari tours at Disney's Animal Kingdom, with a pontoon bridge that drops into the water and flows down a river. Pretty neat jeep ride. Other rides and attractions we did were... Cheetah Chase (done it already at BGW) Sandstorm (orbiter) Haunted Lighthouse (lame "4D" show) Scorpion was closed all day, unfortunately, they've painted it to match Sheikra's color scheme. I love this park, I hope they keep up the great work and keep adding these great coasters. Sheikra is not to be missed. The next three days were spent in Daytona Beach to visit Ali's famiy. The next half of my TR (WDW, IOA, USF) will follow soon with photos from the entire trip.
  13. I would see it as great news if we got it here at SFNE, but it's just a possibility. While I'm not really GLAD to see the flume ride go, I never went on it, and it would be a great spot for a new ride. (That had to be the shortest flume ride ever)
  14. Great to hear SFNE is getting a "teen" ride, I have a feeling it's Astroworld's SWAT, but anything is possible I suppose.
  15. Six Flags New England would be about 6 if you're close to Buffalo. SFNE's Superman is a must-ride. SFNJ should be seen next year for El Toro which looks promising, that's 7 hours. Just haul it, it'll be worth the extra couple hours.
  16. Have they started to pull the trains through yet?
  17. I wonder what's on the inside of the ride building, are there animatronics or something?
  18. Is it your first time coming to the US? Sounds like a great way to see the best of it all! I would reccomend checking out SFNJ and SFNE while you're in the Northeast. My park plans... Late 2005 10/08 Six Flags New England 10/12 (fly to orlando) Sea World Orlando 10/13 Busch Gardens Tampa 10/16 HHN @ Universal's IOA 10/17 Animal Kingdom, Epcot 10/18 Magic Kingdom, Disney Studios All of '06 -- SFNE biweekly 4/'06 Back to Animal Kingdom to get some rides on Everest 5/'06 Six Flags Great Adventure 5/'06 Long Island Adventureland 6/'06 Lake Componce And that's all I'm up to right now.
  19. These rides are great, I went on a KMG speed in Brockton Mass earlier this year. It's a shame to see one so badly damaged. Luckily no one was hurt.
  20. Instant classic... "This house was the most detailed house of the evening. Don’t get me wrong, it was still bad. Way bad. At one point an actor popped out of a mirror and screamed, suddenly realizing no one was there, he said “Oh…” and went back into his hole."
  21. Awesome! Thanks for the update.
  22. Cool, great to hear they're making a new DVD. This year's HHN looks promising.
  23. http://www.ioacentral.com/live_the_adventure/ioacentral_store/halloween_horror_nights_dvd.htm Send a request, they may be able to get one for you. It's a pretty well done DVD. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you, I'm going to IOA on Tuesday.
  24. http://rcdb.com/ig3267.htm?picture=1 Reaper: Drop Ride To Doom So what are the other Dungeon rides like? I never even knew about this chain of attractions.
