  1. It's more of the visual aspect that does it for me, you're right that there's not MUCH air but you can definately feel a negative g sensation, and that (used to be!) unique on an inverted coaster.
  2. Oooo, I love the placement of Phantom Manor right on the water, very cool.
  3. I used to always sit on the right side of coasters when I was younger, no particular reason, just did it automatically. There's some coasters where I prefer a certain side... like any Vekoma SLC, I like to have the staircase nearby in case we need to be evacuated, because I've been stuck on at least three different SLCs and one twice! never actually did get taken off though... On SRoS at SFNE I sit on the left to get the view of the CT River and not the railings to the right.
  4. Oh man... Space Mountain looks so ill! If only WDW had the Discoveryland version. The whole Discoveryland area is just awesome-looking, only seeing it in pictures, I like the looks of it better than Disneyland's or Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowlands.
  5. I always have to ride either WDW's or DL's when I'm in the respective park due to having a girlfriend. I probably wouldn't mind it so much if they didn't play the song for the entire ride. Cool pictures though, they came out well.
  6. FIRE Love the unique camelback dueling the zero-g roll. Rest of the ride's not bad either.
  7. Ooooo, Dominator! One of the best B&Ms out there.
  8. I like the Universal Parks better than Disney but I still prefer Dinosaur. I love Spiderman's 3D technology, but the EMV vehicles are awesome, the top notch animatronics don't hurt either. I've never really been a fan of comic book themed attractions, but Spidey is definately 100% impressive. Better than both of these though, IMO, is Indiana Jones, Temple Of The Forbidden Eye at Disneyland. I can't wait to try Tokyo Disney Sea's Crystal Skull variation.
  9. I think many will agree with me when I say Boulder Dash!
  10. I've always really liked the B&M roar.
  11. I don't think it's that people didn't like it... if you mean coaster enthusiasts. Your average park guest probably found it rough, but fun. There are about 30 other Vekoma SLCs scattered around the globe. If built at Great Escape, it will be a nice addition there, as they need SOME kind of thrill coaster to stay afloat besides Comet.
  12. ^ Sounds like Strates Shows, so cool they still have the Huss Top Spin! That's such a project to move around for a US flat ride.
  13. Hey there, As you know, fair season is upon us in New England with the Brockton Fair setting up their Reithoffer midway in a couple weeks. I'll be going Thursday, the 29th of June, I suggest going that night for the $14 wristband. Brockton Fair typically brings some spectacular flat rides like the KMG Tango, KMG Speed, Zamperla Power Surge, Drop Tower... and a Flitzer. I was wondering if anyone knew any other major fairs that might be worth checking out in the New England area besides this and the Big E in Springfield.
  14. Have you been on any other impulse coasters by any chance. I'm curious to see if you prefer to have one spike tilted or both straight like the only ones I've been on, Wicked Twister and Steel Venom.
  15. I just rode USH's version recently and it didn't even come close to the Orlando version. Florida's has the intense fire scene, and better scenery IMO.
  16. Wow, funny how the new management shows their disapproval of Mr. Six. Now if only they'd take the cardboard cutout Mr. Sixes off my Gerstlauer spinner...
  17. How far of a drive is this waterpark from La Ronde? Even remotely close?
  18. I went to Marineland two years ago and I thought Dragon Mountain was great. SUCH a long ride, cool tunnels, just overall very unique. The park has some nice flat rides too, including a Huss Magic.
  19. Very cool TR, loved that photo of Superman in particular. I'm also a fan of Huss frisbees, sorry to hear that it was closed for your visit.
  20. Not really a RIDE, but a theme park experience regardless... In 2001, I went to my first HHN at Universal Studios Orlando. I had JUST bought that year's event t-shirt, which had glow in the dark lettering and outline on the back and front. The first haunted house I went in was "Pitch Black" which is basically an (actual) maze with dead ends in the complete darkness. Not like the modern HHN mazes where you can only go one way. Anyways, I must have been charging that shirt up walking around in the sunlight, because as soon as I stepped into the mass of people trying to find their way through the haunted house, the GLOWING back of my shirt was being grabbed. I could not for the life of me see who was grabbing me, it was definately at least three people. The whole time I thought it was my family, but I dragged three complete strangers ALL the way through the 15 minute or so attraction. They were too shaken to apologize, and I thought it was too funny to say anything.
  21. That is pretty stupid. If they're making you take off glasses with croakies that's like making you UNTIE and remove your shoes. They're basically snug in place and it would take a lot to remove them.
  22. Nice observations. That sounds like such a rough flight. I can't even imagine what 19 hrs is going to feel like if/when we go to Japan.
  23. I took like 40 or so nonstop rides on Superman Ride Of Steel during an ERT. I took FULL advantage of the 2 hrs extra time we were given... that was a long drive home. I still felt like I as moving the next day, I'm sure we've all had these coaster hangovers.
  24. I've only been on a couple of the smaller wings like Dorney's and Knott's. They seem to swing 3 times fully in each direction. Is CP's even shorter than that, even with such large capacity?
