  1. Hey Coasterbuzz, I think I can be of some help. The most recent time I went was a Friday last October and I didn't really have any long waits to deal with. The one ride that did have a line was "Rhino Rally" and it was only about 15 minutes. I suppose if you're going on a weekend you'll need a strategy, but otherwise I doubt it will be insanely crowded. When I went, almost everyone made the long trek right to SheiKra which still ate up the crowds with its awesome capacity. The WATER RIDES get very busy on hot days. If you are planning on riding the flume, rapids, and tidal wave (which are pretty close to eachother) get to them early!! The B&Ms usually run a good number of trains but I suppose Montu, being at the front of the park could get crowded early so hit that early just in case. Remember they have excellent transportation to get to the major areas of the park, both rail and skyride, be sure to utilize both to make the most of your time. Enjoy one of the best parks out there...
  2. Verticalzero, I feel the same way about SOB. I went the year it opened hoping for great things, and I ended up riding it once. I'd rather have it be half the size but rerideable than a behemoth, merciless death machine. I have this "fantasy" of Intamin redoing the track so it could be more like El Toro but that's definately out of the picture. So much potential... ::sigh::
  3. Mediocre? What?!? It's actually longer than my favorite GCI (Hershey's Wildcat) so, so far it's gonna be pretty cool in my books.
  4. Is Noah's Ark the one that has the dark ride/water slide hybrid with animatronics? Being a waterslide fan, I can't believe how many awesome looking funnel slides there are in that area! The enclosed Proslide funnels are awesome, I wish we had an indoor waterpark in New England, but I bet one is on the way. Sorry for being such a geek... but what's the name of the Teal/Yellow striped body slides at Chula Vista? I may actually have to head out there, I've yet to go on a "toilet bowl" type funnel slide, just Tornado at SFNE which seems less intense. Thanks for providing os many great photos of waterparks, what a great idea for a trip!
  5. Reon, I wouldn't assume the ride is going to be like Storm Runner just because it has a similar color scheme. Very cool that supports have shown up, they're starting this thing so early!
  6. OoOoOo... they had a scad drop!? Sweet. Excellent pictures, man. Especially that overview of Mount Olympus.
  7. Hey, just pulled this topic out from under 11 pages. Any updates on either tower? I would hope the TDS version will be testing soon. Looking forward to your report rollermonkey, and possiby riding the thing next year!
  8. I'm in the same position as Zand... Superman and Boulder Dash but El Toro is next month so we shall see. I've been on 219 coasters on both coasts.
  9. I'm enjoying SWAT in its new home (my home park) and wish they had also sent us XLR8. It's too bad the park had to close down... they just never added any big new coasters.
  10. Well if there IS in fact a trip to Tokyo in '07 I'm going to start saving up now because I am NOT missing the opportunity to experience Disney Sea, Fuji Q, La Qua, Space World, etc. with y'all.
  11. It's NOT SROS at SFNE... that's for sure. I thought I was going to need rehabilitation after the ERT a couple years ago. Most wooden coasters seem better in the rain to me. Not too fast... but faster enough.
  12. Oh man, that POV shot of speed is SINISTER! Wish I had made the trip... Oh well... it was either this or your next Japan trip and I need to see Journey for myself. Keep having fun!
  13. Yesss, I second that, Europa Pics!
  14. Wow, old topic... I voted Disneyland and I've been to all the WDW parks and also DCA. Overall, I like the WDW resort more than DLR but Indiana Jones and Space Mountain Mission 2 make that park awesome. A close second is actually DCA... I REALLY enjoyed Cali Screamin' and all of the remakes of the boardwalk flat rides. I haven't been to AK since they've added Everest, so when I visit again, that may change.
  15. My friend said the line was about 2 hours for the front seat on Monday, and he ran right to El Toro. Better get a flashpass.
  16. Hey Noemi, I just got back from SFMM a few weeks ago on a weekend visit and it was pretty crowded with some long wait times. Like the others said, definately buy a strip or two of flash pass coupons if you are going on the weekend. I would start off with X before Tatsu because X does not accept flash pass coupons for entry. Then you should head over to Deja Vu and Psyclone as they both run one train... Most of the big coasters like Viper, Goliath, Tatsu, Riddler take flashpass so you'll be all set there, just make sure to get over to X because the line can still get over two hours long. Have fun,
  17. OMG! Can't believe the way they crammed Elissa into that sardine can at the front of the powered coaster! Funny stuff guys, keep it up!
  18. Cool photos! And nice taste in video game hardware... I just happened to pick up a DS lite today, awesome system.
  19. Be sure to bring a camera! Silver Star looks like one awesome B&M. I've always wanted to ride that and Euro Mir.
  20. Looks like quite a few people from TPR go to horror nights, we should plan a (nonpeak) night to have a meetup at XVI.
  21. Looks like you guys are having fun so far, and it isn't even day one yet! You lucky bastards enjoy your trip, we'll just be chillin' here in the lame US... working... not riding coasters... and stuff. Keep up the fun and keep us posted,
  22. This is what a zipper looks like. They're fun, but I've whacked my head pretty hard against the bar that's right in front of you in the cage. Very disorienting, but like the man said, not that intense.
  23. Oh, I definately see what you mean, I started this thread and wish about 80% of it was removed. No need to send me to coasterbuzz...
  24. Mods- Who keeps changing the subject line of my first post and why can't I change it?
