  1. I have been on the following... Top Spin (basic model) Lake Compounce (now at kennywood) SFNE's Twister SFGADV's Twister Dorney Park's Hang Time NY State Fair (Strates) Top Spin (suspended model) Knott's Riptide Top Spin (giant) PKI's Tomb Raider (does this count?) My favorite is the last one I mentioned. World's only giant top spin, plus extensive theming, and enclosed in the dark... it brings a tear to the eye. Photo credit - Extreme PKI One of th efew good photos inside the ride building. Twister is painted nicely but usually has a lame cycle... Riptide was a lot of fun.
  2. Did that guy in the front row take some painkillers before riding, jeez... You're right though, funny video, and basically showed the entire ride. Youtube is just awesome...
  3. It's looking like they will use just the studios this year, which I see as a good thing. PLENTY of room for big houses. All the best ones have been on the US side... Pitch Black Scary Tales All Nite Drive In Scream House Run Nightmares... ...the list goes on... is it October yet?
  4. Being a B&M fanboy... most definately Tatsu, it's a work of art. X gets silver for it's originality and holy sh*t factor, though.
  5. Hello Blackhole, i think I can help... SFNE is my home park, and I visit quite often. First off, what day are you going? Weekends can get busy by late morning so I suggest going mid-week if possible, especially if you want to visit Hurricane Harbor which can draw hour plus queues for popular waterslides like the not-to-be-missed Typhoon water coaster. The park has been running two trains recently on the world's best coaster (considered by many at least...) Superman Ride Of Steel. I haven't waited more than 20 minutes for this awesome Intamin, and you should make it a point to ride in the very last and very front seats. If SRoS has a long wait, I suggest buying the "flash pass" to make sure you get at least a dozen rides on the thing. If you've never been to SFNE before, you're just not going to want to leave this coaster... Batman (the floorless B&M) never has much of a line, unless of course they're running one train. Mind Eraser (Vekoma SLC) has been down since the beginning of the season, so you may miss a credit... Pandemonium, the park's spinning coaster is a lot of fun and gets LONG waits in the day due to poor capacity. You should really head down to this area of the park first and ride it, Blizzard River (which gets LONG lines on hot days) Catapult (awesome S&S Sky Swatter) and Cyclone, which also gets long lines due to them usually running one train. Again, the water rides draw insane crowds on hot days, so also make sure you hit Splashwater Falls early. SFNE also has an awesome collection of flat rides, one of the best I have found anywhere. They have a very rare Huss fly away, frisbee, top spin, and breakdance, as well as the aforementioned Catapult. The water park is excellent and has one of the best varieties of slides around. But again, hit the big slides aerly or suffer the long lines... As far as food goes... like all Six Flags parks, th efood is overpriced and underwhelming. I suggest the subway down by Flashback and Toon Studios for at least a decent meal. There's plenty of pizza/burgers fastfood crap all over the place, but as far as quality, you can't beat subway. Sorry, I know this is a bit long... When you first get into the park, you'll notice a small gap in between two brick buildings (on the left) that leads right to Crackaxle Canyon. I suggest going through this narrow path and heading right on over to Pandemonium while everyone runs for Superman, which if aything, will have it's second train added by the time you get to it... If you have any questions, please feel free to ask... and enjoy the best-themed six flags park in the chain.
  6. Cool photos, nice report... I think I'll try and hit this park this summer, it's not all that far away. I've yet to ride one of those Maurer Sohne spinning coasters and I've always wanted to.
  7. I must've gotten both Beast and SoB on a good day... When I went, I found the coasters by no means smooth but definately at least enjoyable/comfortable and worth several rides each.
  8. I've been on all the American accelerator coasters but unfortunately have not yet been able to go on Stealth. I can say that it has the best element of my favorite accelerator (top hat) and it looks like a lot of fun with some added airtime at the end.
  9. I had to go on a weekend and the expresses came in handy for all but two houses (which later had lines and we got a second walk through) It's worth it if you go on a really busy day. I rember during XIII in "Ship of Screams" the line was like 2 hours, and it wasn't even the main house that year!
  10. What else could possibly happen to poor Hercules?
  11. I kinda like the colors. If those are in fact the final colors... Nice editorial, I enjoyed reading it.
  12. I love rapids rides... especially weird ones. Does anyone have photos of th elift wheel? Sounds interesting....
  13. I wanted to ride Rock It Mountain so badly when we were down in Cali but your review makes me feel better that we didn't wait the ridiculous wait time for it! Nice TR, at least you guys had some sort of grad night event! Do you know what I got to do right after graduation? Go to Parris Island, SC for military training. Blechhh...
  14. "Just thinkin' about those tasty White Castle burgers with the tiny little onions that explode in your mouth like flavor crystals when you bite 'em... just makes me wanna burn this motha*&% down!"
  15. I remember that part. I was like... damn! It's not over yet? Just to roll into the station. I did the same thing on MM's Ninja...
  16. ^ ::completely agrees:: And just think of how smoooooth this coaster is going to be... It'll be interesting to see if Boulder Dash stays as my #1 or slides down to #2 after riding this crazy thing!
  17. I didn't realize that much was known about the planned but failed extreme haunted house. The only thing I knew was that you would have had to wear a harness for parts of the floor that would fall out from under you, and that the scenery/actors would be only for die-hard horror fans. When you mention all that stuff, I can see how it would be a problem opening it up. They should really go for at least a considerably scarier haunted house. While I love the effects and scenery of the houses, I haven't been truly scared since I first went in 2001 (XI) in the 'Pitch Black' haunted house. remember that one? Eeeeeek....
  18. I only go to Florida during HHN to make sure I'm able to see the event. I've been to 13,14, and 15 and I should be able to make it out to this one. I hope they go for that long-rumored "extreme house".
  19. My favorite is big bad wolf, but my girlfriend's is Ninja at SFMM by far. She LOVED it on our recent (first) trip to California, we took 7 rides on it over 2 days including front deat rides in the dark, which I too can say make the ride 100 times better. She took this pic...
  20. Wow... the thing FLIES all the way up umtil the fourth drop! Very impressive speed, and will provide great air especially on that insane 1st camelback! Can't wait till later this month....
  21. To clarify Raptor... Raptor rules the sky! "Excuse me while I kiss the sky..." is from Jimi Hendrix's song purple haze, which is one of the best songs ever recorded... A noncoaster tagline is WDW's Tower Of Terror... never the same fear twice.
  22. OooO! Keep it as waffles!
  23. ::joygasm:: Ah, it's so good being 4 hours from such an awesome park. Thanks for doing the impossible and cranking up my El Anticipation.
