My first tornado siren
christianscoasters replied to la2lvtom's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know I would definitely find a quake fun if I knew that I was safe. Like, if I'm in a room with stuff on the walls and what not and an 8.5 hits, then obviously, I might wanna get out of there. Lol. But if it was just some minor shaking, it would be cool. Now, IDK if I'd ever want to be on the 17th floor of a building during an earthquake. THAT would be too much for me. Haha. -
My first tornado siren

I love storms Living in Kansas, we get storms all the time. The tornado sirens for us means nothing more than just going out on your front porch and enjoying the show. Seriously. We're always in a tornado warning, but there's never a tornado :/ Now, a couple weeks ago, there was a tornado two miles from my dad's house. He lives in an hour away from me. He said that it sounded like a freight train and a "whooshing" sound. Cool! I always like it when I'm around people during a storm who AREN'T from the midwest and start freaking out about the sirens going off -
^^Then don't go? There's a solution! Who'd a thunk! ^It's been happening to people all over the world. I wasn't the only one. It wasn't my computer, it was Musictoday. It was happening to people a LOT.

I just got FRONT ROW seats to the Jonas Brothers. Why am I ranting? I put in all of my information to buy them, click "submit," then on my screen, I read "System error. Please start over." I'm now a section away in Row N. FMFL.

^I know of around 20 people in my school (and others in Wichita) who saw Addams Family over spring break. It was in previews, but for many, it was their favorite show. However, reviews for it definitely aren't great. Poor Enron, it barely lasted Ragtime got quite a few nominations, but they withdrew one or two (costumes and something else) because they were used in the original production.

You mean "12 And Pregnant"??? Lol. At my school, for my class alone, about 15% of the girls are pregnant or have been. But I'm in high school, not middle school where the 12-year-olds are. Kids REALLY are having children in middle school. WTF. -
Why do people always say "be safe" whenever you say you're going somewhere? OF COURSE I'M GOING TO BE SAFE?!?! Do you honestly think I'm going to the YMCA to get drunk, smoke pot, and kill people?

I haven't really posted much on here, surprisingly. I'm a HUGE musical fan. This summer, I'm an apprentice for Music Theatre of Wichita. I'll be working 9-12 hours a day, 7 days a week, all summer. Basically, I help out with painting, props, scenery, costumes, stage management, etc., then when it's showtime, I'm part of the stage crew. It's not a paid position, but it's great experience and colleges will be impressed 5 shows total! I'll only be able to work on 4 of them though because I'm going to be IN a show with another company (and that's put together in a WEEK!) Busy summer. In other news... What do you guys think of the Tony nominations??

Regarding the $10 for 30 minutes of ERT, I'd say, go for it! Have a lottery system in the mornings, maybe an hour or so before opening? Most (if not all?) Broadway shows have a drawing a bit before show time for a certain number of seats for only $20-$35 or so. Most shows have a certain section in the first two rows that they dedicate to lottery or RUSH tickets. It works great for them. Also, this is almost completely pure profit for Six Flags, so why not? I know if I was at any park, I'd pay that much for ERT.

ALMOST got to meet Steve Martin today, and it's pretty funny how!!! Today, junior and senior students at my school in the art magnet (I go to a magnet school, with three magnets [basically majors] art, science, law) went to the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum in Kansas City, about 3.5 hours away. Steve Martin was there! He has some show, Midland by AMC or something like that tonight in KC. How cool is that?!?! Many students got to see him. Unfortunately, I didn't -
Here's the article from the Wichita Eagle (Newspaper).

Here in Kansas, we've had a little bit of drama go down regarding Glee. On Tuesday, Idol ran a bit late, so Glee started late. Well, the news at 9 o' clock CUT OFF THE END OF GLEE. I was PISSED! Turns out I wasn't the only one. FOX Kansas was flooded with emails, calls, etc. Some people couldn't even access the website because of how many people were on it to complain. We know someone who is friends with the director there, and he said he's received an insane amount of phone calls of pissed off Gleeks. Solution? They're going to air it again tomorrow YAY!!! I now love Kansas.

I visited WA in December. I really liked it and all of these improvements that are in this report are GREAT!!! When I was there, Cheetah was annihilated. It's a bummer I couldn't ride it, considering that it's the only coaster at WA that has an original design, Lol. It's a really nice park -

But what if the epicenter wasn't deep in the ground? Now, I am NOT an earthquake expert, but I believe I remember reading somewhere about the Chile quake, even though it was a strong quake, it was very deep in the ground so that it wasn't as powerful on land. Of course I might be completely wrong though. -

^Not only that, Elissa, but when they were planning on T-Express, didn't they ride both Balder and El Toro and combine the two? If so, I'm sure we're going to see something that coaster enthusiasts love Expedition GeForce meets I305? Tatsu meets Manta? Who knows!!!
