^^Well, yes and no. It was in GREAT condition (at least it appeared that way) and all the electrics were hooked up. There was some fencing that was laying on the side of the trailer, and it looked almost brand new. It's definitely not something that was left to rot. My dad thinks that it's something they use when they have school fundraisers possibly. The trailer that you can see in the picture is there as well and it's in the exact same position, so it's safe to say it's been there a while too. I'm going to contact the city and see what they know about it. There's a family out here that used to have an extravagant Christmas display. I'm talking operating carousels, skywheels, and even a roller coaster. The city bought it from the family a few years ago and the people I've talked to think that's what it is. They don't understand though that those are slightly scaled down and can't be used by people (except for small babies, lol) and that the rides we found are REAL rides.

I'm out at my dad's house near Kingman, KS. It's a small town. He lives in the country, about 10-15 minutes SE of town. It's really nice out here! Yesterday, we took all of my brothers and sisters (I have 4 siblings) to the river to play for a bit. When we were done, we decided to drive around the town. We drove into the rodeo grounds and kept going down the road a bit. Then my brother says, "Is that a roller coaster?" I was thinking he was just saying something stupid again. But sure enough, there WAS a roller coaster!!! It's a kiddie coaster made by Molina and Sons, I believe. It is white, all the electrics were hooked up, and the train was on the tracks. On the back car, it said "Winnie The Pooh." The trailer it was mounted on said "Screamin Eagle." There were no fences around it. There was a half-made ferris wheel and tilt-a-whirl nearby. We thought that maybe it was for a carnival that was setting up, but there aren't any events coming up for a while. We're still trying to figure out why it's there, but we know it's been there for a while. The coaster is on Bing Maps. I took pictures with my phone, but out at my dad's house, I have very limited service. Once I go back home, I can get the photos online. I go back home tomorrow. Check it out: http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=37.640054529415764~-98.11761886340047&lvl=20&dir=0&sty=h&where1=Kingman%2C%20KS&q=kingman%2C%20ks&form=LMLTCC

The "Say Something Random" Thread

So I just graduated on Monday. Made a hell of a lot of money. Put most in savings. My mom is such an excellent financial advisor. She's awesome when it comes to budgeting and teaches classes on it and what not. I put an automatic $600 of grad money into an emergency savings account. I feel great! I won two $25 gift cards to Walmart at Project Graduation, so I bought a new 26" LCD TV. It will be great in my dorm I thought about buying a used one, but if I was to find a decent TV, it wouldn't be much cheaper than $50 off a new TV price. (I say $50 because I had those two gift cards.) I'm satisfied, but I can't figure out why I'm posting this. -
I've been to all those places, but we usually had some unique situations: Los Angeles: We never actually went into the city. We were always in the suburbs. Our whole purpose was to be close to SFMM. We had a cheap-o hotel in some suburb. Wasn't THAT bad, but not amazing either. Miami: I was just staying the night there in an airport hotel to go to the Dominican Republic the next day, so can't really say much. NYC: OMG. DO NOT CHEAP OUT. We got a $60 a night hotel around New Year's in Jersey City. With the PATH train, it was only 15 minutes to Times Square, NYC. The reviews were right, it was a "fairly safe" hotel. NEVER AGAIN. We were terrified and the room was junk. Definitely plan on spending over $100 if you want a decent room. The closer to NYC, the more expensive it will get. Don't hesitate to get a hotel that's not actually in NYC because public transportation is excellent and can get you anywhere you need easily.

GaGaLand?
christianscoasters replied to deathbydinn's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Even if the theme park was made and GaGa's popularity was next to none in ten years... The GP will still know that there is "a theme park" in NY that they'll think about going to. I don't think they'll say "I want to go somewhere that involves Lady GaGa." They'll say "I want to go to that theme park in New York. They have cool rides!" or SOMETHING along those lines. On a different ish note... OMIGOD!!! -
^What's sad is that I'm 17 and agree with you so much. I do not like being a part of the gay community for the simple fact that I'm not "accepted." You have to be masculine, skinny/muscular, must drink, must dress a certain way, etc. It's why I don't go to gay events because EVERY time that I do, I feel so uncomfortable. The gay community is just not something that I like being a part of, especially in a "small" big city like I live in. We're small enough that everyone pretty much knows everyone. Everyone goes to the same club, everyone does drag when they turn 18, everyone starts going to the other club when they turn 21. Same, same, same. Straight community, I stick out because I'm gay. Gay community, I stick out because I do not conform to the stereotype. It sucks. Thank God I'm moving in September. Is Chicago any better???

I used to make that element on NoLimits all the time SO COOL to finally see it being built somewhere! -
I auditioned for the Musical Theatre major at the University of Northern Colorado, but didn't get in They included some personal things that they liked about my audition and wanted me to come into their theatre arts program, but it wasn't for me. So instead, I'm moving to Chicago to go to Columbia College to study musical theatre. I'm so excited! Chicago is such a theatre-loving city. I'm happy. Oh, and on another note... Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark got a new script! It'll be interesting to hear about the "new" Spiderman.

On Facebook, if I see one more: - Happy one week, baby! -You make me feel perfect. -You are perfect to me. -I love you more than anyone else! -I'll always love you! ... Followed a week later by: -Who the hell do you think you are?! -What a d-bag! -I can't believe I ever loved you!!! -Go die! No one even cares about you! -Why is this happening to me? ... I think I'm going to explode.

I was taking a class a few weeks ago from a Broadway actor that I personally know and he was asking us why we liked theatre. Someone said "You get to harm people and inflict emotions you wouldn't get to do in real life." He replied,"Yes! That's very true! You get to harm people without actually hurting them... Unless you're in Spiderman!"

^That show is sad at parts, but SO FREAKING HILARIOUS at others!!! It's a great, great show.

I work at Chuck E. Cheese's. Yeah, yeah, go ahead and laugh... BUT... In Kansas, minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. That's what I work at. For waiters and waitresses, it's $2.65 an hour. I made a $40 tip yesterday. I've actually never made less than a $20 tip before. My pay is more than 2x more than waiters and waitresses plus my tips are massively bigger. Who's complaining about Chuck E. Cheese's now? -
Yet another reason why I hate Kansas: http://www.kansasequalitycoalition.org/viewevent.php?e=3574

Rattler is the biggest piece of crap. It's unbearably rough. I hate that ride! But it's perfect for Rocky Mountain Construction. The layout is great, and given how much TG was changed, I'm sure Rattler would be one hell of a great ride. The tunnel through the cliff is amazing. In other news... I'm so glad I got to ride Texas Giant in it's final year. I'm looking forward to New Texas Giant!

People who judge. Obviously, saying "he's ugly" and treating him differently is judging, but no one realizes that saying "he's hot" and treating him better IS STILL JUDGING. I have a good friend who is, let's just say, he has it going on. He always is dating someone new... But it's because everyone uses him then leaves him. It's breaking my heart to see him treated like this, and he is SUCH a sweetheart! He's such a kind guy. Ugh.

A few weeks ago, I posted in the rant thread about how the Wichita public schools never have snow days. ... Today was our 6th snow day. Damn. -
I'm still just not fond of Wicked. The storyline lacks and I feel like the whole show is just a big spectacle. On the other hand, LION KING is coming to Wichita!!! Yesssssssssssssssssss.

My mom just got back from a Kid Rock concert. 4th row seats! Kid Rock's band was stuck in Oklahoma due to the snowpocalypse we're having now. So he had his opening act band play some of his old school songs for him. They were completely unprepared but ROCKED it! He would tell them what key to put the song in and what not. About an hour and a half went by and his band showed up. Then they started doing their regular set of songs. ALL of them! So basically, everyone that was there got to see TWO concerts! How freakin' amazing is that?! -
I have today off AND tomorrow I was supposed to work today, but they closed too. I haven't even looked outside yet today.

I saw Alegria. LOVED it. Amazing acts, the clowns were funny, and the music was phenomenal.
