  1. We went to Disneyland back in January. Although I didn't see the value of adding the music, I didn't mind it so much. I'm a little disappointed though because I had never been to Disneyland before that trip. So, I have no idea what those rides are like without the music. Adding music to rides isn't a bad idea, but the problem is people's varying tastes in music. I'm not big on the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I think the music definitely decreases the re-ride value, because eventually the song becomes annoying.
  2. Thanks for bringing back some memories. I actually liked the King Cobra. I prefer smaller rides for stand up coasters. The big B&Ms like Riddler's and Chang are too much. Then again, it's been many years since I rode the King Cobra.
  3. Oh, come on. You guys need misfits in the royal family. It gives you something to talk about. We make fun of Hollywood types, while you make fun of the royal family. That's how it works.
  4. Something is weird with this. How do you fit 8,000 people into 1,500 units? That's over 5 people per unit on average, which sounds pretty cramped knowing the TINY living spaces SoCal typically has. Am I missing something? There are already houses pretty close to Disneyland. Disney should just shut up and buy the land.
  5. I'm rooting for Prince Harry to become King. He's the Robert Downey Jr. of princes; the first royal to visit a strip club. He dressed up like a nazi for a costume party. Etc. The boy has no sense, and thus him becoming king would be hours of fun. Not likely to happen though
  6. Ha ha. Disney opposes the development of homes that its workers could actually afford to live in. This doesn't sound like a ghetto housing project considering that only 225 of 1,500 units are slated for lower income residents. I wonder what the real beef is. Maybe Disney is just mad because they're so used to getting their way. Somehow I don't believe that the "close-knit, fight-free relationship" was anything other than Anaheim kowtowing to Disney's every whim.
  7. Nah. Prince Charles has no real power. Even if he becomes King, he'll still have no power. The monarchy is ceremonial now. He's just expressing his opinion, which is perfectly within his rights. I do think that the royal family should actively encourage more healthy lifestyles, but probably not in this fashion.
  8. Prince Charles is one of the more boring royals anyway. Prince Philip is the best by far. http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Prince_Philip,_Duke_of_Edinburgh
  9. SLOTH LOVE CHUNK!!! Great silly little movie. This makes me want to watch it now.
  10. I'm not getting it. Oh well! Just put a ">Buffalo" at the end of all of it and it should make more sense! Anyway, this does support another theory: The majority of breeding in this world is done by the stupidest of the people. It's rather unfortunate. -Jahan Can I get you pregnant? I'd make a good father.
  11. So I can go on cheap coaster trips! I don't mind Motel 6. I think they're one of the better cheap hotels. Now Travelodge and Knight's Inn; those places suck. Have you ever noticed how a good 30% of Motel 6's clientele is cheap rich people? I always see BMWs and other expensive cars in the parking lots.
  12. So, apparently the Japanese have these shady hotels by the highways designed specifically for having affairs at. They feature everything the conscientious adulterer could want, such as curtains in the parking area to hide your car, smoked glass at the front desk so the help don't see your face, and, of course, karaoke. Some of the rooms are even themed! Check out the pictures: http://todayspictures.slate.com/20070226/ Note: this is definitely PG-13 content. The Planetarium Room: take that Cinderella Suite!
  13. Getting pregnant does sound pretty sweet. I wish I could do it.
  14. Maybe not. But, it's guaranteed that dozens of ambulance chasers will contact her if her name is ever released. Not to mention that standing up on a tram isn't too level headed to begin with. And Disney may consider a quick out of court settlement a bargain compared to the bad publicity of being sued.
  15. If it's such a massive number of students, then it's not really much of an honor. I'd certainly believe that their average student is better than the average US student. That's not saying much. But, they are not a country overflowing with geniuses. Heck, you can find cadavers laying around the street in India. How smart can they be? I do know that math is extremely emphasized in India, and you are thus highly advised to avoid Indian professors for math here in the US. Accuracy in math is so beat into their heads over there that they are extremely unforgiving in grading.
  16. That just means they have pretty low standards for what defines an honor student.
  17. That would just slow the tram service down, because the workers would have to run around to open/shut the doors at each stop. That's a huge waste of time, especially at WDW where you can end up waiting a while for trams at opening/closing. I suppose they could get automated doors. I think someone else brought up a very good point. Disneyland has millions and millions of visitors each year who seem to not fall off the tram. Why change over one idiot who can't follow the simplest of instructions? Children are supposed to be watched after by parents, and on the inside of the tram. I think the trams should stay the same. Or, better yet, they should replace all the trams with people movers.
  18. I'm reading the Wiki article right now. It's fairly interesting. Roughly 10% of their focus groups gave the overwhelming negative response, which they downplayed. The problem with New Coke was the fact that they *replaced* the original formula with it. They took the choice away from consumers! They should have been less drastic and marketed New Coke alongside the original formula. I tried New Coke back in the day, and frankly it was disgusting, like a Coke version of Pepsi.
  19. The big difference there is Pepsi didn't eliminate its original product in favor of those newer versions. During the "New Coke" debacle you couldn't even buy regular coke! I really hope that whatever drug-addled marketing genius that came up with "New Coke" lost his/her job over that stroke of genius. Imagine having that little diddy on your resume.
  20. The only thing that sucked more than Pepsi was "New Coke". Anyone else remember that disgusting mistake? I'm firmly convinced Pepsi wouldn't exist today if Coke hadn't made that blunder. Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. What about the prevalence of "homo thugs" in Atlanta? If that isn't reason to like Atlanta, I don't know what is.
  22. Yeah, but in Canada you all live in igloos. You're used to the cold.
  23. Thanks for stealing all my time!
  24. I think it's just a matter of degree. The post-9/11 economic troubles were pretty minor leagues, even compared to the late 1970s. Greenspan skillfully stimulated the economy by lowering interest rates. Housing boomed (too much if you ask me) and the economy recovered. I don't feel sorry for people who lost out on their $200/share investment in drkoop.com. Yeah, I think an abrupt end to Walmart would be bad. But them gradually going away would be harmless. Didn't A&P have a larger share of retail sales in their heyday?
  25. Recession, not depression. There hasn't been a depression here for quite some time.
