Hmm... http://www.rcdb.com/id3727.htm I had no idea these coasters could be this cheap. They look so extreme and awesome. I really hope that they completely take over the niche that wild mouse coasters currently have. -

You really think they'll put a Euro Fighter in there? Mystery Mine is reportedly a $17.5 million attraction. Although much of that cost is theming. I suppose if Oakwood got one, then Michigan's Adventure could get one. A woodie might make sense as it would be cheaper. I'd rather them get the Euro personally. It'd give me an excuse to finally make the drive up to that place. They currently don't have enough stuff to justify the drive to me. -

That's perfectly understandable. But driving across a few states is not a space mission. In the context of regular life, that behavior is bizarre. -
Why not extend that to anyone collecting unemployment from the government? The military always has job openings. I'm not sure if you understand the nature of unemployment. It's not charity. It's insurance. You pay for it! When you work part of the tax you pay goes towards unemployment. I'm not a fan of Ayn Rand, but her thoughts on conscription exactly match mine.

...and I even like the snow. Living in Cleveland you better like the snow! We just had a wussy blizzard. It quit at like 8 PM last night, and now the roads are clear. I was hoping to get snowed in for days. -

Assuming that your "lines of the same length" observation is correct, this suggests that Xcelerator is roughly twice as popular as Boomerang. Thanks for illustrating my point! Now cut Xcelerators in half since they were running only one train. OH MY GOSH! Now boomerangs capacity is now higher than Xcelerators. Hmm explain that for me oh wise and powerful one Slow day? Are you really suggesting that Boomerang is as much of a draw as Xcelerator? Is that really your point? I'm trying to hold back my laughing here. -

Nonsense. The GP loves great rides as well. Are you really going to tell me that if PKI installed a great ride, like an Intamin hypercoaster, that the GP wouldn't know the difference between it and this "one-of-a-kind" Vekoma trash or Face/Off? The long queues for great rides in other parks illustrate this. Great rides are good for business, because people want to ride them. Wanting your home park to have some decent rides that don't bash your skull is hardly indicative of a spoiled person. Had PKI been smart throughout the years they would already have excellent rides. Sorry but merely saying that my point sucks doesn't make it so. Why does it suck? You neglected to clarify that. I still believe it's a valid point. It points to what an second rate park PKI is. Valleyfair! has less than 1/3rd the attendance that PKI has, but they're getting an awesome new coaster. You've just bolstered my point. All you want to ride at PKI is a few flat rides. Doesn't that suck? Wouldn't it be nice to have a real coaster there? Oh wait, we're just spoiled enthusiasts. Nevermind. Wow, dude. That's pretty cool. I hope I'm cool enough to get a Maxx Pass one day. -

Because they might actually come back a few times in one season if they don't leave the first time with a headache. Higher quality rides tend to break less as well. They could have built a really nice hyper with the money they incinerated on SOB. It doesn't have to be at that level. But, again, a nicer park would certainly win more business. The Paramount Parks thing could have been done in a much better way. A little creativity goes a long way. -

By having a park that doesn't suck. They could start with installing better rides; rides that don't give you a headache. They were making their numbers, but obviously it wasn't a cash machine. I don't think it's crazy to assume that they'd make more money with nicer parks. But that takes someone with Walt Disney-like balls. And they didn't have it. The whole Paramount Parks concept was pretty half-cocked. But, it didn't have to be that way. One idea would be to not name rides after movies that nobody has seen, like Face Off. -

Explain SFMM then. If you look at top 10 US parks in terms of attendance, they are all run by Disney, Univeral, and Busch. Not coincidentally, those companies invest the most into their parks. They have awesome parks with top quality attractions. Your "fool the GP with cheap crap" model might allow you to skate by, but you're not going to see rapid growth in attendance/profits. And if PKI and Canada's Wonderland were so financially successful, why did Paramount want to dump them so badly? You don't unload cash cows. -

I strongly disagree with the "GP is dumb" argument. Look at theme park attendance figures. The parks that invest the most into their parks get the largest number of guests. End of story. I don't see how anyone can defend this awful decision. Here's a few reasons why this blows: Maverick Griffon Flying Turns Mystery Mine Renegade Everyone else seems to be installing awesome rides this year. -

These people apparently don't get out much. A flying coaster is hardly "one-of-a-kind". 5 hours in the car gets you to Great America, where they've had a flyer since 2003. I guess it's this same ignorance that makes people think that the Beast is still a top ride. -

Only SNES did have some good games (Terranigma, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World). This isn't going to be a good ride. Look at everything else that's opening up this year: Griffon Maverick Mystery Mine Renegade Flying Turns new Gravity Group woodie And they aren't lying when they call PKI an "industry-leader". They lead the industry in sucking. -

I'm really happy about this retracking. I don't even have to go to Geauga Lake to ride this coaster. All I have to do is wait a few more seaons until CF moves this coaster over to PKI. Then PKI will have a rideable woodie again! Thank you Cedar Fair. -
What about the freshly fried pork rinds at Dollywood? Those are vegan friendly.

As as Cincy native and person of Eye-talian extraction, I agree that LaRosa's makes awful pizza. They would fail in a "real" city like Chicago. They make one good pizza though. It's called "Little Italy". It's got a real crust (not their usual cardboard), and sauce that actually has taste. The best food at LaRosa's is actually their hoagies. They make one mean sandwich if you get the right one. I don't think PKI has the LaRosa's sandwiches I'm thoroughly unqualified to evaluate park food. I generally don't eat it. Probably the best I've had is the Blue Bayou at Disneyland. I got a pretty good filet mignon there. It's not world class. I can get better steak at a similar or lower price. And their salad had a bunch of iceberg lettuce in it. YUCK. But, the ambience of that place is tops. The sound of the crickets, the dark feel even during the day, the ships from Pirates lazily floating by. You can't beat it. I'll list a few parks and what I thought of their food. PKI- eat Graeter's ice cream only. Indiana Beach- excellent grilled cheese. Holiday World- yuck! Never eat at Satan's Lodge either. Their buffet is easily some of the worst slop I've ever had. Nice enough hotel though. Universal Studios Orlando- got a burger and pizza at two random places. It was pretty average. Mythos was closed because it was HHN Wow, I've only eaten at maybe 1/3rd of the parks I've been to. LOL.

Honestly, I prefer King's Island's old Togo stand up King Cobra to the two B&M stand ups I've been on (Riddler's and Chang). I think going through several inversions while standing up is asking a lot of the rider. King Cobra was about the right size/length for a stand up ride. Stand ups are a silly idea anyway. When you've been walking around all day and standing up in a line, the last thing you want to do is stand up on the ride also. It's nice to sit down and give your legs a rest.
