  1. Started on the environment: At the moment, I'm trying to do something with that visible skybox corner but once that's done, I should be able to start with the 3ds.
  2. Thanks for the comments. Just to let you know, I've started work on an environment. I'm going for a jungle-esque environment and so far its looking good. As for the coaster type, its a Sit-down.
  3. ^ Not sure but it shouldn't be too far into the future. It all depends on how much scenery I make for the ride.
  4. ^ I wouldn't consider a 400ft drop on TTD as 'nothing' but suit yourself.
  5. I prefer theming to be complimentary to the coaster rather than the be-all-and-end-all of a coaster, so I'd go for a good ride.
  6. Best: Pepsi Max Big One (the tunnel dive is the second best part of the ride). Worst: The Ultimate (kind of drifts towards the station into a random lifthill).
  7. '4000 years later' was first concieved when I wanted to see if I could create a track which is both reflective of B&M's style yet unique enought to stand on its own. After a few days work on Newton, this is the final result. The supports took a while to do; I spent a good amount of time staring at photo's of B&M's to see how they're supported so I could get them as accurate as possible. As a result, I can honestly say that this is by far my best support work to date. The environment and scenery isn't too extensive, but I didn't think it needed to be because I felt the ride speaks for itself. Special thanks does to my Testers (Xpress, A113, Eric, Turbo, Flickstah and Coasterpimp), CG Textures and to whoever supplied the other bits and bobs I found on Google Images. So without futher ado, press the download button and enjoy. P.S. If you have any problems with the file, please tell so I can sort it out. 4,000 Years Later.nlpack
  8. Looks nice, but that corkscrew (third picture from the bottom) looks poorly shaped.
  9. Wow! Fantastic photo's, nice to see a little blast for the past every now and again.
  10. Nothing major, but I could have have ridden this thing at Bridlington (which happened to close a year later): http://www.rcdb.com/2792.htm I either rode that or had a hot dog for dinner, but I was hungry at the time. lol
  11. Only at Knoebel's can you get a kiddie coaster this popular on a coaster forum. lol Seriously though, it actually looks quite fun for a kiddie coaster.
  12. I think lightening hit it a few months ago and the rides had a number of problems since. I'm sure there are many topics about it already.
  13. ^ I agree, it was a great read. That museum a St.Louis looks insane!
  14. ^ Yet a layout was released about half a year ago. Even so, it should be great. I hope they go all out on the theming like they did with Nemmy.
  15. Due to reasons I'm unable to explain, Eric can no longer run this contest so he has left me in charge from now on. If you have any questions regarding his dismissal, don't ask me, ask Robb. In case your worried, I'm not changing the rules of this contest or anything. Just continue as you are and the contest will go on as it has. Now let that be the end of the matter. If the rules don't mention it, assume that your allowed to do it. Yes you can have the heartline above the boundary as long as the track stays below it. I assume the supports can leave it on that basis.
  16. If that suggested woodie a few years ago was called SW6, shouldn't this really be called SW7?
  17. Sorry to bust your bubble but you may have accidently ripped off what you originally called the best Nolimits coaster ever (I suspect, subconsiously): http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43909&highlight=pyramid But I'll try and overlook that in my rate. Positives -As always, your track work has improved since your last ride. -Very professional building style. -Nice use of catwalks. -Great support work. -The layout before the MCBR was astonishingly fun. -Nice setting. Negatives -The second and the first half didn't mesh well (one had fast pacing and dynamic elements while the other was more sluggish and gimmick orientated). -I felt more could be done scenery-wise with the first half of the ride (more rooms, for example). My Verdict Another stunning if uneven ride from one of my favourite builders on this site. 8/10
  18. New *tooled* B&M I'm working on. The track work is mostly finished and I've started some of the support work. I'm also planning on adding some 3ds and an environment but as of now I'm not confirming any of it.
  19. Nice trip report, hope you had a great time. How was the Bubbleworks? I heard its was crap after they renewed it a few years ago.
  20. This should be posted here: www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29233&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 As for the question, I'm not familiar with the mac extractor so I cannot answer.
  21. To be honest, I'm not sure if your up to running a contest just yet. Maybe you could get a bit more experience by participating in other contests and such before hand.
  22. Huge misconception; rides aren't rough because of pumps, its the track shaping and the quality of the cars and tracks which cause roughness. You should make a ride rough by making the track pumpy. I thought the ride was pretty good. The layout was fun and the pacing was satisfying. I also liked those structures you made here and there. If I was being critical, I would have to comment on the supports, especially the ones on the MCBR (they looked a bit loose and ugly). Also, the track wasn't the smoothest in the world (mainly during the helix sections, but there are techniques to get rid of them).
  23. ^ You could if you can find suitable elements that fit together well but isn't that kind of defeating the point of using NL over RCT?
  24. I have a similar problem myself. I only finish around 5% of the rides I try to build, and I consistently let people down by cancelling or postponing projects because I seem to set the bar too high for myself. Recently, I've set myself much lower targets and it seems to work better for me in the long run. Anyhow, lets not go off topic; Real did a great job modifying this colour scheme to reflect real life rides better and it will help a lot of people build better-quality rides. Along with loafet's Track shapes, this is one of the most helpful things released to help improve peoples NL building skills.
