  1. What I liked -Well maintained pacing. -Smooth trackwork. -Realistic layout. -The snake turn after the first drop. -Very accurate supports. -The hammerhead was shaped well. What I felt could be improved -Lacked the extra 'wow' factor to make it stand out. -Nothing innovative in terms of layout and element usage. -Some of the transitions were too fast for a B&M hyper (more specifically the bank lead-ins). -The hills weren't really shaped right (they should have been more of a parabola than a circle). -I didn't like how some of the hills weren't straight, it made the ride feel a bit goofy in a way. My verdict A great ride if not a memorable one. 7/10
  2. ^ I have to agree, you can't say he's breaking the rules if the rules aren't written out clearly.
  3. Here's a new element I made earlier today. Here's some statistics: -It's around 120' tall (from highest point to lowest). -It reaches speeds of up to 60mph plus. -It doesn't have a single company style but more of a combination of styles (but most prominently CCI). -It will be terraformed. -Hopefully it will feature some 3d tunnels and a custom environment (made by yours truly). -A lot of the ride is quite aggressive at the moment so it won't be for the faint hearted. If you have any comments/suggestions, don't be shy, just tell me.
  4. What the hell's the point in the late reduction then?
  5. ^ What I do is simple copy the file and dump it in the non-compatibility version of the file. Usually it works fine for me. Compatibility files, just one of the many wonders of vista.
  6. ^ Glad I could help. I do agree that making helix's are mega-hard when hand-building and I can see why you were trying to avoid them, but as you said, the ride wouldn't feel right without them. It's still a good ride though, you are defiantly one of the better hand-builders out there.
  7. ^ Do you really need to compare them.
  8. ^ I think he know's what he's doing. EDIT: And no, he didn't cover up the track route, you can see that there's no supports in the way if you look closely.
  9. ^ He hasn't put the track there yet (he's doing the thread real-lift-construction-style).
  10. Is it just me or is it impossible for either GG and GCI to make a less-than-good woodie. Every time they hurl out a design, they always impress me.
  11. Here's my rate for Jarvis's ride: What I liked -Very original for a B&M hyper -Fun elements. -The hills were shaped quite well. -Good layout. -Good use of the park pack. -Quite smooth a lot of the time. -Good supports. What I felt could be improved -The banking was off quite frequently, resulting in some high laterals (but none lethal). -The helix's were a bit jerky in comparison to the rest of the ride. -The last half didn't live up to the fantastic first half. -I might be a bit picky here but I thought the supports holding the track above the pre-lift were a bit unrealistic and needed extra supporting on the right hand side (you only supported the left). My verdict Not your most impressive ride, but a good one none-the-less. 7/10
  12. ^ Wow, thanks for the offer but I'm not sure this ride is good. Hopefully it will be but I wouldn't count on it. I'll send you the file now.
  13. ^ That was quick. lol I'll sent a PM with the download link later. EDIT: Sent, anyone else want to test?
  14. Here's a new terrain out-and-back woodie I'm working on. I'm using elementary to construct this one (a first for me) so I'm going to need some testers. So if your happy to test, either PM me or post here and I'll sent an email to you. Turn around Lift
  15. IMO The last two are fake, period. I'm pretty sure the first is real though.
  16. I smell Dive to Atlantis, hopefully I'm wrong.
  17. I am America and so can you.
  18. ^ You need the Track packager which can be downloaded at a number of places.
  19. The park has put up a mini-site: www.duinrell.nl/stuntpiloot/index.php?lang=en Seem's like the name might possible be changed to 'Stunt Pilot' but I'm not a hundred percent sure. Either way, it seems the ride will be themed to flight in some way.
  20. *What I liked* -Good pacing. -Sweet, realistic length. -Some good elements i.e. the twisty drop after the top hat type element. -Good layout. *What could be improved* -The forces were all over the place. Try and keep them out of the red/yellow area if possible. -The banking was off resulting in high laterals. -Some miss-shapened elements here and there (try and look at real examples to help you shape it correctly). -There were a few pumps you could have ironed out. -EDIT: Also, the supports were sparse, unrealistic and ugly. Again, try and look at other ride's and see how they are supported. *My verdict* A fun ride, but could be improved technically. 6/10
  21. I've got photo's of the Pleasure Island boomerang. I'll put them up when I've finished resizing them them. EDIT: Here you go.
  22. Fantastic ride, possible the best I've ridden in ages. What I liked -The scenery was, in a word, staggering. I loved how you used the supports to their full potential and the environment / 3ds were great. -I liked the Disney-inspired layout, it gave the ride a very family feel to it. Not many people do that (mostly because they don't have the scenery skills to use it to its potential). -Just generally very fun ride, you maintained the pacing which was good but I do have a few issues with it at times (I'll explain below). -I love some of the idea's you had i.e. the spiral lift. What could be improved -While I felt a lot of the track was smooth, it isn't more that above average. The transitions weren't very fluent between the helix's and to be honest, little of the layout actually 'challenged' your track building skills. -I did not like the frequent use of transports throughout the ride, especially during the church part. They seemed to be partial cheating as far as pacing's concerned. -I wasn't too fond of the ending, I felt you could have done something a bit more 'spectacular' an less abrupt. -The name is very un-inventive and more importantly, misleading. I though I was going to get some Coastb2-type ride, boy I was wrong. My verdict Gorgeous scenery and superb creativity shine bright in this superb ride. 9/10
