[NL] Tsunami

Looks like there's quite a few pumps in there. Also, the heart-lining seems to be a off in the Heart line. Other than that though, it looks pretty good. -

Entirety [NL]
dr.gumbo replied to Koolkid's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Not bad for a beginner, the layout was great for a twister. What I liked -The layout was actually quite good. -Very good pacing throughout. What could be improved -Fails the tunnel test badly, this can easily fixed by placing a tunnel throughout the track and seeing if anything intrudes into the tunnel. -A lot of under/over-banking, try and look at the forces to see if you've banked too much or less. -The ride was very pumpy, but you'll get better at fixing this over time. -The forces were far too strong at times, try and keep the forces as low as possible without sacrificing the thrills. Just consider the points above for your next ride and I can assure you that your rides will improve. -
The problem was that you didn't give helix a proper lead-in meaning the AHG had hardly any space to alter the banking to eliminate laterals. Try and create proper lead-ins to your rides so that this doesn't happen. Also, if you can find them, try and use some of loefet's 3d Track shapes. They help a ton when building elements like these.

Unfortunately the park didn't have any dark rides. I guess you could count the first 10 seconds of the roller-coaster if you really want. -

Lol, that's what my parents kept on complaining about. I can admit the photo's weren't that good, mainly because I hadn't cleaned the lens in a while but I'll try not to be too modest next time. It is a shame it was closed though, but I do see why they had to. The place was starting to get a bit shabby and simple people got bored of it (since they couldn't really expand). Oops. lol Sorry to disappoint. lol Yeah the second half was a bit random, but I guess that's down to the fact that it had quite a lot to dodge in a small space. Thanks for all the other comments. They are much appreciated! -
This is my first report so I'm warning you now; get ready for the worst TR you've seen in your lives. Metro land was a small, quirky indoor park situated in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in north east England. If you’re a geography geek (like me), you should have figured out that the park was situated 80 odd miles north of Light water valley and Flamingo land. Because of this, most theme park fanatics didn’t bother travelling the extra distance for a park which quite frankly wasn’t worth it. Anyhow, here’s some history for you all (supplied by rcdb.com): Here are some the photos I took on its last day of operation: This was it from the outside. Nowadays its covered in lovely scaffolding. Here's one of the two entrances to the park. Nowadays this would be a gorgeous photo of a wooden wall. (As you can see, I suck at photography) For colour fanatics, this place is just pure pornography. The first drop of Newcastle's equivalence of the Nemesis (people actually compare them up hear, seriously) A helix, pretty self explanatory. Photography sucks. If your wondering if Westlers supports Metroland, here's your answer. This ride used to have quite a bit of theming, but they stripped it all shortly before these photo's were taken. One interesting thing about this park was that all nearly all the rides were named by adding an adjective to its general name. For example, this ride was called the Wonderful Wave-swinger. This be the entrance to the 20 year old New roller-coaster. This be a picture of the train taken by a mature hormonal teenager. This is the first lift hill which featured a nice countdown filled with excessive strobes and voodoo masks. Super-bad photo of a sign at the exit. Ironically, this was taken after my last ever ride of the coaster. This is the view from the roller-coaster exit (and if your wondering if Walls was advertised at Metroland, here's your answer). To the left of the coaster exit you can see the park residential play area. A couple of bunny hops were wedged between the play area and the wall (a nice ending to the ride, but a perfect opportunity for kids to throw plastic balls at the riders from the ball pit). I had a great time thinking of a good comment to go with this picture. Same with this one. Here's one last photo of the second helix and lift which lead on to the bunny hop finale, all of which had collectively preceded with a stretched out turn from the big helix which had lead from the drop out of the strobe infested tunnel. That's all from me, thank you for reading and if you have the time, please comment!

I'm assuming your including rides/parks released in 2008, would I be right in doing so? -

Awesome trip report, its nice to hear you had a nice time there. They really need to give Corkscrew a makeover though. For a Vekoma it ain't that bad but go is it ugly in its present state. BTW larrygator you can use this photo of Runaway mine train if you want (it was part of a TP I was going to do but never got round to doing it). -

Looks pretty good in an Avalanche sort of way. I love how it fits into the park so neatly rather than being placed in a random piece of land. Thanks for the photos! -

I might have a try but isn't 2 months a bit long for a deadline (especially for a ride this small)? -
[NL] Bal Van Vuur track

^ You might want to create good head choppers, but you don't want to go too literal with it. Try and create the illusion of it rather than actually doing it, that's my advice. -

^ Thanks for the appreciation. lol I'm just wondering why you wanted it to fail the tunnel test. It just seems a bit pointless. -

What I liked -The layout was moderately good. -Had good pacing at times. What could be improved -Fails the tunnel test, this can easily fixed by placing a tunnel throughout the track and seeing if anything intrudes into the tunnel. -Try not to have curved brakes and lifts. You need at least more than 3 sections of track to build a lift properly and you can use 'I' to straighten parts you want to be straight. -It got a bit slow at times, try and lower some of the larger elements. -A lot of under/over-banking, try and look at the forces to see if you've banked too much or less. -The brake segments needed to be longer. The train went into the station far too fast. -The turns were quite pumpy, try and use circular objects to get the turns the right shape which in turn will help smooth it out. -
[NL] Dragonfly
dr.gumbo replied to Tiger of PTS's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^ Just because you don't like them in real life doesn't mean you shouldn't use it in a simulator. Besides, like I said above. Its how close the track style replicates what you want to achieve which is important, not 'how it looks'. Most likely you would have got much more rates if you did that and ultimately a better ride. I'm not forcing you, I'm just advising you. -
Spirited away: One of the best animations I've seen in a while. Much better than I anticipated.

Yes. That's fine. We just doesn't want people posting a thread saying "go here to see my pics," etc. Obviously, using photobucket, imageshack, etc. is fine. It may not be ideal for you but if mcjaco has allowed it, why can't he link to those websites?
