The "Preview" Thread
dr.gumbo replied to DBru's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Seen it before. Clearly the most unoriginal ride you've made as of yet. Really, it looks interesting to say the least. I'd like to see what else you have in store for us. -
NL Seabreeze Tight Fit Contest
dr.gumbo replied to dr.gumbo's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
A NOTICE FROM THE JUDGE: I'm considering moving up the contest's deadline. But I need a general count on how many people are close to being done. If the vast majority are nearing finished, I will move it up to probably about a week after I get the answer on how many people are ready. Please make notice of this on TPR and request the contestants to report on their progress. -
Despite a few shabby looking parts, this looks like a nice park. Thanks for the TR.

Thanks for the comments, I'll try and post a POV sometime for those without NL. -
Awesome coaster, nice to see you've returned. What was Good -Fantastic pacing throughout. -Lots of airtime on the hills. -Fun layout. -Smooth trackwork. -Fun and original track shaping. -Fantastic ending. What I felt could be improved -I would have liked to have seen some scenery to compliment the coaster. -The end of the ride, though fun, felt rushed. -The transports in the station and preceding the lift were unrealistic. My Verdict An incredible ride which was immaculately built. All it needed was a bit of polishing. 8.5/10

Nice jab at those Magnum XL-200 fans. Nice pictures, makes me wish they would build another woodie over in England. But that isn't going to happen in a hurry so I won't dwell on it. P.S. Can't wait for a POV of this thing! -

Great TP. Can't wait to go to the park this summer. Do you have any Falcon pics? -
I was watching the Simpson episode with the Gumbo machine and a can of Dr.Pepper was sitting next to the TV.

^Looks good. You might want to check some of those helix's for pumps though. Anyone else got any updates? -
Steel Blaze [NL]

What I liked -The layout was good minus the fact that the first half is the same as Kumba. -The ride is mostly quite smooth. -Sweet track colours. -The pacing seemed quite accurate to B&M rides (which admittedly don't fly around the layout). What I felt could be improved -I felt the heartlining could be improved (you can turn on the heartline in the 'Display' bar) but it wasn't bad by any means. -The pacing could have been a slight bit faster. -The trackwork had a lot of little pumps which could have been ironed out a bit. -The banking could have been a bit better at times, but it isn't bad. -As I said before, the first half is exactly the same as Kumba which I felt was a bit of a let down. -The supports were fine but could be improved quite a bit. My Verdict -The overall shaping was fantastic, but the track as a whole could have been better. 7/10 -

Here's the photo you all asked for. Trackwork is finalised, now I'm onto the .3ds (I'll sort out the textures / supports later). -
Awesome, awesome, awesome. Again, great report of a great park. Did I mention how awesome it was?

I agree, that new one your making looks superbly made. While your obsession with such average coasters still holds you back from achieving your potential, I have to admit your making the most of it. -

^ It does't work a in a lot of cases i.e. when the track is directly below another section of track for a substantial time. Also, it just doesn't 'look' the part sometimes. -

Okay, I've decided to finish the ride off since I'm so close to finishing it. However, I think I'm going to have a little problem with the supports since the auto-supporter doesn't work effectively. If anyone is remotely interested in helping me out here, I'd much appreciate it. If you ask nicely, I might put up another picture for you all. (See, I do try and finish projects off. lol) -

The 3d's were okay and were quite a nice added extra but you need to work on your trackwork if you want to make full use of them. The layout and pacing was quite good though.
