The language of enthusiasts
jarmor replied to SonOfBeastSucks's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
it may be just me but i wouldnt say the initials when I can just as quickly say the name unless its a shorten version of the name. For example I wont say F-O-F, i'll just say flight of fear however I wont say danny phantom flyers, I would just say the flyers, or instead of saying BORG assimilator I may just say BORGass! So if you are actually saying the letters instead of the words, I dont see how that is making it easy on yourself lol lol! -
Well, this was my first event like this and I have to say, I was reserved to attend a coaster event in the past because I didnt know how it would go. I didnt know if it will be like the first day of high school and I was the new kid or what. I also didnt know if it was gonna be all clique-ish like one particular coaster website cough**coaster**cough**buzz**ahem**... but to my suprise it was totally like a big family reunion. This year set a record for attendance, which was at 129, and from a total of 17 different states. What puzzled me is that no one from the PKI area came to give the flyers a spin since it was featured in a NIGHT TIME ERT! Everyone was friendly and nice to everyone, and everyone seemed like they wanted to be there, despite the heat. With the exception of one person, who obviously flunked public speaking 101, who totally dissed the park for no reason (basically he sounded like one of rollernuts followers) everything was awesome. Well im gonna let the pics speak for themselves... Everyone registered around 7:30ish and gathered in the entrance of the south gate. Suprisingly, some regular GP were already at the gates ready to get in, at 7:30 in the morning!). After a brief wait we were on our way to enjoy some ERT on Carolina Cyclone (who after all these years rides just like Tenn. Tornado did in its first year of operationing), Ricohet (the parks mack wild mouse that uses basically 3 trims during the whole course and then they aren't on that hard...), and Hurler (which was speeding thru the course like it was its last ride!) Here we are at the Carolina Cyclone. Thanks the the recent track work modification this ride is super smooth, how smooth you ask...think B&M smooth. Here is CC pulling out of the second vertical loop getting ready to fly around the curve leading into the double corkscrew with a train full of acers...see anyone you reconize? Another train full of acers exiting the station. Moving over to ricohet for some of the strongest laterals I have ever felt on a barely 50 ft coaster here are a few posters from Carowinds Connection enjoying their trim-skinny ride! After that, the group met up at Scooby Doo's Haunted Mansion for a good ole fashion scooby shout out! As you see here the turn out was great for this part of the event and everyone was pump up to shoot up some ghost and find those scooby snacks! (can you spot a certain **Coasterfanatic...**) Here are ACE members Mark and his daughter chelsea and her boyfriend getting ready to get the highest score, but did they... Chris, another big help at the event, was getting all the scores from all the participants but becareful, the three carowindsconnectateers! The park open up and we had a few hours to explore before the group photo and lunch so guess where almost everyone went...yep the flyers! Heres Mark again, even he decided to "go ghost" while his daughter and her boyfriend spent almost the whole day in the waterpark! Now we have some of the "wootah" crew, jonathan, jay, and someone who's name I forgot taking advantage of what I think is one of the best flats hands down, Danny Phantom flyers. Next up is the Amazing rACE! This was totally awesome especially for a first year event. While I had never watched the series on TV, after watching and participating im curious as to if the TV show is as good as what we pulled off... one of the challanges was to ride Vortex and after that you would get your next clue. Its hard to make out but here are some of the contestants working on getting their next clue! And here is Jon and Jay getting ready to get their next clue! The next stop Mark and me had to be at was Thunder Road north along with Chip and...dang I forgot the other persons name...but here are some shots of the contestants getting their next clue! Now in the final round of the Amazing rACE we are now down to 4 teams outta 13 and here they go on the last journey! For next years park guide and brochures, the park HAS to use this picture!! After having to answer some questions at the happy days diner, here comes tina and her partner ready for the next challange... All of the final 4 contestants had to chose from playing the "get the ball in the peach barrel" or "get the ball in the tall milk jug" game. And folks this was not an easy thing to do! These guys are sweating not just because its hot, but the game had them running all over the park for like 3 hours! Talk about a work out... Now they are off to finish the final challanges of what is called...The Amazing rACE! And who actually won you ask...it was none other than tina and her partner, and what did they win...well nothing really except a family of 4 season passes! Oh and let me mention the prizes the 2nd and 3rd place winners got...8 tickets to either SCarowinds OR Winterfest! Dont quote me on this but I think the 4th plACERS got T-Shirts... Here are the final 4 posing for a group picture! Before we move on lets see some of the contestants making to the final pit stop! And I have heard the stories and seen the pictures but I was lucky enough to spot one of the white squirrels in the park, but this one looks to have pink nuts... Now its time for some night time ERT on Danny Phantom Flyers! I bet you folks at PKI cant do this... or this... Heres a shot of some Acers eagerly waiting to ride the flying eagles...err Danny Phantoms flyers. After that it was time to get some laps on Hey Arnolds! Taxi Jam. This was a first for me and it was pretty fun! Even got my back cracked for free... Some Acers waiting to ride and board... I felt it was time to go check out some of the ERT time on top gun, one of the best inverted forceFULL B&M' out there! Here you can see the train flying over the camel back that goes over the station. This has to be the first time I have experienced it with out it slowing down at all! This is the train molesting the zero-g roll in complete darkness! The station for top gun has always been a pretty darn nice looking piece of work, day and night. Here comes the very tall and slim vertical loop that leads you into the tunnel, that the park forgot to turn off the sprinkler system in, right before the immelman. Now in the station were bayard, one of the awesome white shirts and park celebs., yelling out that it was the last ride... After that it was time to go home... Overall it was an event to remember. If you guys who are reading this are considering going to a coaster event that isnt in your back yard I would strongly suggest comming down to Carowinds for Carolinas Coaster Classic because everything was on point! Even had some of the best food (man those ribs were too good to be true!)! I met some new folks, learn some new things, even got a season pass with a member from FLA who was nice enough to give me his guest pass! Suprisingly the heat didnt bother me because I was in and out of the shade and constantly drinking water and THE PARK WASNT CROWDED at all! What more can you ask for you say..... A hyper coaster that goes under the bridge!

Italian Job Turbo Coaster 2006...

Lol lol. I understand what your saying and yes, a good que really sets the tone for the ride... Having seen TR at PKD (seen not ridden...I dont like lines), it looks very well done with all the effects that like the real fire and the openess and the awesome soundtrack. I have not been to PKI yet but I really like the PKD version. -

You dont like the version of scooby doo at carowinds? I think its ok based on the fact that 1) it was placed in an existing building where as pkd was built from the ground up with more room for creativity, 2) Generally things built after something tends to be slight better due to the fact that theres room to improve. I wouldnt go as far as to call it craptacular because its pretty good and all the effects seem to work... -
http://www.kingsdominion.com is now showcasing the "new for 2006" video after the tomb Raider: Firefall. So I guess its official...

Photo TR: The Last Gasp
jarmor replied to jarmor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah im still shocked about the whole decision but im starting to believe that it was already in the plans in the beginning. Oh and another thing I was talking to someone in the marketing department and was asking why it was being removed (was acting like a regular ole guy ) and he was like for future development for next year...so I was like future developement of what...then he was like reconstruction of the area...so I was like oh, you mean the hyper coaster. He just smiled and ask me if I was in a coaster fan club. Then I mention the fact that I figured they would go with B&M due to the recent events with intamin but his reply was... "Who is B&M...". So I was thinking 1) either this guy is pulling my leg or 2) its made by another company. Then I thought about how Golitah (SP?) in walibi has the spread out supports vs they tradition arrow like lift structure most intamin hypers have. So right now im just keeping my options open about this coaster because he also stated, "who said it had to be a hyper coaster... Jarvis "Did you check out the VIDEO" Morant! -
Well this past sunday I decided to go to SFoG to get my last **gasp** Gasp. I was expecting more like atleast a sign up front stating that it was everyone's last time to experience such a great ride but unfortunetly that didnt happen. Once I got to the park around 1:30 or so...(was suppose to leave the house at like 6 that morning...) I went straight to the Great Gasp. It was weird looking at it knowing that it wouldnt be there next year. But one thing for sure, the general public is a little shaken about the fact that the ride is being removed. While in line I was talking to a few who were talking about the ride and how its such an icon. Well I got a total of 2 rides on it, which means 2 buttons; one for me and one for EBAY! Oh yeah a dude got caught with his video camera out while exiting the station on GASM and the ride ops handled the situation very poorly in my opinion because you just dont talk to people with attitude and not expect one to come lashing back at you. Needless to say security was called... here are some random shots of sundays event. Also here is my version of a tribute video I made last week in honor ofThe Great Gasp and Looping Starship! Enjoy! The dude got caught w/ his camera out on GASM. Some words were exchanged and security was called! A shot of the whole cyclone... The remains of the looping starship...

I decided to make my own reality show focused around my life... its gonna be a pictoral presentation and I have already been contracted to do 2 more seasons! Todays episode is... "Getting dressed with Jarmor..." Geesh my agent just came into my plush bungaloo and woke me up and told me I had 40 minutes to get dressed because I had a working lunch meet with some other important people. Obviously im hysterical because I dont know what to wear... So then I run straight to the wardrobe room to figure out what im gonna wear because its a must that im hot... My fashion consultant was a tad bit late so I start grabbing stuff out the wardrobe room but luckly she came and did what I pay the heiffer to do, get me dressed... So she hands me this shirt right, at first I threw it back at her, you know how suge avery threw that plate of burnt shit at mister, un hum thats how I did it...but then I had a second look at it... Now im like, since I have the most important part of the outfit, the shirt, I need to get some pants to go with them. Now quite naturally it has to be some cargo shorts because thats my style this quarter so she hands me these then run and ducks like she's auditioning for a part in "The jackson 5 part 2 - Daddy joe done whipped them again"... So after I go to my bathroom suite just like the one in comming to america and get the royal balls cleaned I got dressed for my screen test. Now see I have to take several quick shots each morning just to see my outfit from different angles and in different moods and that determines if im gonna wear it or not. I even accesorized it with some of the hottest Chloe shades and some athentic Dolce & Gabanna military dog tags... Here is a close up for some of yall who have never seen the hottest straight off the production line Dolce & Gabanna authentic dog tags... Here are some random shots from my outfit screen test. Its protocol to take a min of 20 pictures per outfit so im only posting a few... And that damn photographer of mines, enrico suave', likes to play around and take these funny pics of me and sell them to the national enquire and the star mag and start stories that im on drugs or hanging out with nicole richie and linsey lohan. Heck I dont mind we both split the money... Well tune in for the next eposide...

A) I can speak for HHN and its definately worth it, as well as an express pass for the event! B) I hop from IOA and HSF all day on some days and was bored mid afternoon, its not that many people there because the students are in school by that time. C) To be honest, it really doesnt matter where you stay in the area. Most hotels have free shuttle service to the parks (im speaking universal parks and area), and even some have transportation back and forward to HHN. I suggest to get to HHN early as possible! Oh yeah, and to have LOTS of fun!! Jarvis "Man Sept 30th cant get here any faster!" Morant -

is that an actual video camera because it looked a little "wonder year-ish" in quality to me... Dont get me wrong im not talking about the coloring but the frame rate, I guess thats it, looked a tad bit slow. Is it a still camera because if it is thats pretty awesome for a still camera! Because thats the only way we can ride a massive woodie and brag about it to our straight friends without getting the ewww look! But seriously I have always had a thing for coasters I just like the thrill and excitement of it. Im still shocked how many gay people like roller coasters! My question is how come not too many black people are crazy over coasters! Jarvis "feels alone in this crazy coaster world " Morant -
