  1. It may just be because it's my homepark, but I love driving up to Michigan's Adventure. You're driving down a country road and then all of a sudden BAM, here's Timbers. Another one of my favorites is Holiday World. Coming down the road and seeing Voyage was really cool. Cedar Point is also a good one, especially if you take old Route 2 down from Toledo to the park. Really great view from the Edison bridge.
  2. lmao, love it Ryan. Another great video from you.
  3. Awesome video, Ryan. Awesome. Can't wait for more.
  4. I agree with Comet at Hersheypark completely. My first ride on it the trims weren't on, and it easily made it one of my favorite woodies ever. I got on it again right afterward, however, and the trims were on, making for just an average ride. As far as Cedar Point goes, I have to say the two neutered rides there are Magnum and Mean Streak. Mean Streak without the trims is actually a really great ride despite the roughness. Magnum without the trims going into the turnaround is easily one of my favorite steelies, but with the trims it's just not all that amazing.

    ACE

I've been a member of ACE for the past six years. In that time, I've attended two events and that's about it. Those events (TimbersFest 2005, 2006) I could have gotten in with something as simple as a Coasterbuzz Club membership. Needless to say, it's not worth $65 to continue that this year. I'm looking at joining ECC this year, just because it is cheaper and because the magazine sounds like it's much better than ANYTHING ACE could ever do.
  6. My resolution is to get in touch with my draconian half.
  7. If you leave you'll have more time to touch yourself. All six points.
  8. Flipdude, you are AMAZING! Keep up the awesome work!

  10. Wow. Cedar Fair's making some pretty big changes, if I do say so myself.
  11. It's still a myth. http://www.snopes.com/movies/films/c3po.htm
  12. Christmas for me consists of the following this year: DEC 23 : Arrive home from Alabama. Pack for the week ahead. DEC 24 : My girlfriend (El) and I head back to Lansing (where my family lives), my sister works all day, El and my parents are usually off my grandparent's house working on decorations/preparations. I'll spend most of the day working as well, and finally get to bed around 3 in the morning. DEC 25 : Wake up, eat breakfast, exchange gifts, and El and I go back to bed. The rest of my family heads up to Mackinaw City for my moms' family christmas. 10PM El and I wake up, and head back home to get on a plane and fly to New York. Plane gets in about 5 AM. DEC 26 : Arrive at El's parent's house, go back to bed for a few hours. Wake up around noon, have christmas with her dad's family (HUGE family, I might add). Of course, go back to bed. DEC 27 : About 3 AM we wake up, get to the airport, and fly back to Grand Rapids. We sleep a little bit, then have Christmas between the two of us. THEN time to finally wind down and relax. Yeah, a little busy and a lot of traveling, but I guess that's what you have to do during the holidays.
  13. I'm the only straight guy in my group of friends, of which there are four gay men, one lesbian girl, myself, and two other straight girls. Funny thing is I act much more gay than any of the other guys do.
  14. The only "surprise" that I had was Wolf Kabobs at #154. I honestly think this ride has gotten a LOT better in the past two years, and it was easily within the top-15 on my list. I don't think Voyage deserved #1. In all honesty, it's TOO long. It's too much. I'd like to see more GCII's up higher on the list. I would have guessed Kentucky Rumbler to be in at least the top-10.
  15. That's because it's an MP3. *~* Jon "I do NOT enjoy sex with people dressed up as animals" Roost
  16. No chance of today or tomorrow. Today I've had band all morning/afternoon and now I have to go to work. Tomorrow is homework day. I'm shooting for possibly Thursday if any day. I don't have anything to do that day anyway.
  17. So, about 2 AM the other night I was flipping through the channels, and came across something that looked familiar... sure enough, the same episode on the Expedition 7 DVD was playing on my TV! Anyone know more about what this show is, or what channel it's on? I forgot to check before I started watching something else.
  18. I was going to do the program for spring semester as well, got accepted, and turned it down due to pep band and also I'm actually taking classes I'll be enjoying next semester. Hopefully I'll be in for the Fall or Spring 2007 program. Probably Spring because I don't want to give up marching band in the fall.
  19. Let's see... MiA CP GL PKI SFKK BB HW IB FS (Fun Spot) MK Epcot MGM AK USF IOA SFGAm MO (mount olympus) Marineland MFI DP HP K (knoebel's) New parks for 2007: PCW (wonderland) SFDL TF (timber falls) VF! Park at MoA La-M-a Probably some small ones around Chicago Only 87 coasters, however. I think there's a few more, but I can't remember off the top of my head.
  20. Just to add fuel to the rumors, I took a run through the parking lot at Michigan's Adventure yesterday after band (around 4:00-ish) and there look to be cement blocks (footers? foundations?) out between Grand Rapids and Wolverine Wildcat. Lots of heavy machinery out there as well. I'm going to take a gander in the employee parking lot next time I'm up there probably next Saturday to see if I see anything else. I'll probably also head up the hill at the golf course next door and use my binoculars to see if I can see that area of the park better.
  21. Yet another chance to see the antics of Theme Park Review. Sweet.
  22. This is the time for the great phrase to be brought out. It's because you touch yourself at night. (Thanks Wes)
  23. The park stated they would not be installing things that required such an infrastructure (like a hotel or a campground) until the water and sewer lines were brought to the park. Also, the water and sewer service is supposed to be ready by June 2007. When I headed out to the park to take photos last week I looked at how they were coming along on the lines, and it looks to me like they're a bit ahead of schedule. I can easily see X-Flight going to either Kings Island or Michigan's Adventure. Anywhere else, I just don't see it happening, sorry.
  24. Greatest. Trip report. EVER.
  25. I know I'm quite alone in saying this, but Indiana Beach was the park that let me down the most. This past year, I took a few days and hit up some parks in the OH/IN/KY area. The first night, King's Island, was great... well, at least as good as it can be the day Son of Beast broke. Day two, at Beech Bend, I absolutely loved. Day three, even, at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, was a great visit, contrary to most other people's opinions of it. Day four, Holiday World... well, it's an amazing place. But on Day Five, the day to visit Indiana Beach, something just wasn't right. Whether it was the constant heat we had this summer, or just downright sheer dumb luck, I found the place to be amazing, but the staff ruined it with poor attitudes and overall unfriendliness. It was almost as though they didn't want you there, they just wanted to be out of work for the day. So, while the rides and atmosphere of Indiana Beach are amazing, I have to say, overall the park was a complete let-down, and I'm hesitant on ever giving it another shot.
