  1. All I can say is that I hope this was the collection's final destination. Quite possibly one of the lamest horror films ever. Very little (if you can call it one) plot, and the deaths were just outrageous. Not worth the $7 I payed to see it.
  2. It's really good. Just watch out cause it's a little blocky and you need to add a little more detail. But other than that it's really good!
  3. I started working on a park for the Park Wars contest a while ago. While Park Wars has kind of faded away, I'm posting it here to get feedback on it. The whole idea behind it is that this is a park from the Herschend Family Entertainment chain, and this is construction before its first year of operation. The park is built up just like a normal park. What you see here is construction for the 2006 season. The giant Wagon Wheel ferris wheel. A small restaurant with covered seating called Corral. The station and queue for Rampage. Rampage is a twisting invert with drops that follow the natural terrain. The end of Rampage, a B&M inverted coaster. A coaster from Molina & Sons, the Runaway Ore Cart. Guest Relations from inside the park as well as a train crossing. The ticket sales and group sales office.
  4. For once, just ONCE in a decade can Michigan's Adventure get a new coaster? I really wanted to check this and see that it was going to Michigan's Adventure, not Cedar Point. Damn, I guess maybe in 2008, something big for Timbers' 10th? Nah, they'll give it to Geauga Lake. Congrats Cedar Point on magical number 17. Now if only there were more flat rides I'd be happy. And a really good wooden coaster, that'd be nice.
  5. Wow. ... Wow. I sat here and read that, then just kind of sat back and thought "dang, Everest really doesn't look that amazing anymore..." This is high quality stuff, and you should definately be looking at a job in theming and design.
  6. Michigan's weather may still be crap, but at least there's TPR for us!
  7. Geauga Lake's "Dr. Hyde's Nasty Fall" freefall ride hasn't been removed yet, but it's on the offseason "to do" list parts are going to Cedar Point to be used for spares.
  8. A digital video camera, so I can FINALLY do my roller coaster videos on the computer. And lots of old amusement park postcards and books too.
  9. Weather's fine. They're securing the axel to the top piece right now.
  10. Notice also that this one will operate/not operate with a full Schwarzy train instead of the individual Schwarzy cars. Too bad I'm too poor to go anywhere outside the midwest to ride coasters, I'd like to ride a Schwarzy really bad.
  11. Michigan's Adventure : Shivering Timbers (no doubt in my mind) Fun Spot : Afterburner (prototype Arrow launch loop)
  12. Everest, it's likely the only one I'll ride next year.
  13. If SFMM had Disaster Transport, it would be closed. I like Disaster Transport too, so not all of you are alone here.
  14. I've only been on one: Thunderhawk at Geauga Lake. In 2004 that thing was glass smooth. Went on it for the first time this year and couldn't hear anything for a few minutes after getting off it hurt so bad. For some reason I ended up riding it five times this year, all with the same result. The reason they're rough is the trains, because they can sway a little bit back and forth. If they fixed the trains, they'd be a LOT smoother.
  15. 1) Steel Venom (Geauga Lake) 8 ) Hydra: The Revenge (Dorney Park) 4) Cyclone (Coney Island) 12) Comet (Hersheypark) 11) Silver Bullet (Knott's) 14) Dragon Mountain (Marineland) 10) Scream! (SFMM) 2) Avalanche (Timber Falls) EDIT: removed the vs.
  16. I can't wait to see some conception art or something along those lines. Of course, then again it is Michigan's Adventure so we won't see anything until the park opens for the year.
  17. I like the really small parks, for example Fun Spot in Angola, Indiana. They're so much fun and have so much personal touch in them.
  18. There aren't NEARLY that many at Michigan's Adventure yet. Of course, Michigan's Adventure is still the oddball in the chain, isn't it?
  19. Same here. Can't wait to get my copy sometime before the end of the month!
  20. Here are my favorite airtime machines: -Phoenix @ Knoebel's (king of airtime, hands down) -Timbers @ Michigan's Adventure -Magnum @ Cedar Point One that could be good but is over-trimmed: Steel Force @ Dorney Next year, Voyage, that thing better be on everyone's list in here.
  21. I definately plan on attending PPP next year. Never gone but I went to Knoebel's this year on vacation and absolutely loved it, I can just imagine what it would be like with a bunch of goofy enthusiasts just like myself. Other than that, I don't know where I'm going. Haven't gotten any 2006 season passes yet, and don't know if I plan on it.
  22. I'll take quantity over getting them shipped exactly on October 1 any day. Take however long you need, Robb.
  23. Cedar Point's camera policy is really screwed up. Sure, I understand not taking your camera on the rides, but last time I was there I stood taking a picture of Magnum with my FujiFilm FinePix A340 (a small camera, mind you), and a security guard asked me to put my camera away and that photography was prohibited. Same thing happened again five minutes later near Power Tower, so I walked back out to my car, put the camera away, and enjoyed the rest of my day. Seriously, they need to decide on one policy and make sure that's the one EVERY employee sticks to. This is why I love independent parks so much, because their rules are simple, safe, and to the point (Go Knoebel's!)
  24. Nope. No headache. Got off and thought "damn, the park's closed now?". Jon "What can I say, I am the Michigan airtime whore" Roost
  25. Got 39 rides in on Shivering Timbers in a row before re-rides were banned at Cedar Fair parks. 39 is a lot for a ride like that, right?
