  1. Those Python-trains did last 7 seasons, no? Which is the equivalent of at least ~10 seasons in any other park, with the park being open year-round. Yes, but if the KumbaK trains are as awesome as everyone says they are, they should be able to last much longer than that, especially considering that the majority of suspended looping coasters, rough as they may be, are still running original Vekoma trains. But we don't really know about the circumstances of why the trains on Python were replaced (or at least I don't), so it could be something else. I'm not a fan of third parties coming in and sticking their own trains on roller coasters (KumbaK > Arkham Asylum, Premier > Goliath) so I'm probably biased.
  2. Unfortunately, it isn't being used frequently. Only one track so far in 2015! If it's becoming a nuisance, disable it. While the Game Exchange itself was fun while it lasted - I hate to admit it, but it's one less thing that I need to worry about at this particular moment in my career! The games forum itself is still pretty vibrant, especially considering that people like the NoLimits publishers use it as one of many media outlets now. Plus, services like Dropbox and Google Drive are now so much more relevant as places for file hosting. In case the newer games like RollerCoaster Tycoon World, Coaster Park Tycoon, Parkitect and Theme Park Studio (whenever it moves out of early access) take off, it might be a good idea to have a way to turn it back on someday down the line.
  3. Honestly, the lack of important features "at launch" is what's making me start to walk away. I'm getting sick and tired of that crap from the major publishers such as Atari, Activision and the like... I'd rather have the whole game delayed than only half a game at launch.
  4. ^ What he said. Each forum handles images differently, this isn't like the NoLimits Exchange.
  5. But...it isn't even supposed to have a corkscrew. Am I blind or are people really that obsessed with wooden coaster inversions?
  6. For posting single screenshots, you mean? This would be it.
  7. And now... Track. Still not a fan of all the concrete. Source
  8. I was just perusing around RCDB and saw Goliath's new train - and they already had to put a center pad thing near the riders' chests? Does that actually do anything or does it only make the ride LOOK safer? I know Six Flags put those extra chest bits (that didn't look to do anything whatsoever) on all their old giant inverted boomerangs because THIS is how the train actually debuted, compared to after opening. Silverwood took those things off of Aftershock's restraints as seen HERE, you can see the metal where the old redundant pieces were mounted to.
  9. 135 degrees is the magic number.
  10. The word "major" is a relative term. Wooden Warrior, Twister, Zippin Pippin and Roar-O-Saurus have all been runaway hits with guests, and Twister and Zippin Pippin were both in the Top 25 wooden coasters on the 2013 Hawker poll.
  11. Wacky food stalls have been a staple of the series since it started. As long as there's a custom stall option like in RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, what seems to be the problem here? But I totally agree about the coaster cars though. Even RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 got the cars reasonably correct. EDIT: Actually, are we SURE that's entirely an in-game screenshot? The coaster in the foreground and background has the lavender track with red rails, while the one with the cars on it has blue rails. The blue one with the weird cars looks 'shopped.
  12. It'll look even better when it's placed on the supports. Probably. EDIT: Looks like the Cobra Roll. Source: Knoebels on Facebook
  13. The layout isn't entirely to blame here. A lot of navigation systems will route you on PA 39 Westbound to get to the park, and when you get to the signal, it's only a one-lane turn that doesn't open up into its own lane until you get fairly close to the signal. Then you have everyone else who uses PA 39 Eastbound, which has two lanes of traffic going straight but, again, doesn't open up to those two lanes until right before the signal. Yet, for some apparent reason, Hersheypark Drive Westbound gets a two-lane turn! Add that to misleading overhead signage - there's a tiny little blue sign put up next to the big green one directing the three lanes into the parking lot, and it looks like an exit only sign but actually isn't. That means that drivers not familiar with the area that don't know how to read signage will OMGPANIC and try to shove their way over into the middle or the left because they think they won't be able to get into the park. Add THAT to Chocolate World being a left exit, making people have to weave to get there if they're coming in on either direction of PA 39.
  14. You mean things like consistent unexpected downtime and ride redesigns less than two years after opening?
  15. Transformers and Spiderman make me sick if I have the 3D glasses on.
  16. I disagree. Kozmo's Kurves is incredibly fun, and it's definitely worthy as the replacement for the High Speed Thrill Coaster.
  17. Bold statement. They don't offer boomerangs, junior / family boomerangs, roller soakers, twisted single-bench wooden coasters, flying coasters, dive coasters, single-car vertical / beyond-vertical drop coasters, balloon race rides, outward-facing spinning coasters, power surge rides, top spin rides, wild mouse coasters, shooting dark rides, splash battle rides, compressed-air launch coasters, wooden coasters with inversions, four-across inverted coasters, blah, blah blah, blah blah...
  18. To my understanding, the 8 Cars Per Trainer does not work properly with RCT2 in a Wineskin environment.
  19. I'm insanely competitive, so I had an absolute blast trying it out, both ways. When I rode in the seat, I really didn't care about the view at the top because I was too busy barking at my buddy to not mess up playing the game. So much fun!
  20. Based on the comments from the guy from Ropes Courses Inc (specifically the "weird bunch of circumstances" line), I'm leaning more toward this idea as well. I'm a little less apprehensive now that we know that the issue is isolated to the Sky Rail sections and not the normal obstacles. Ropes courses like these are my absolute favorite non-coaster attractions and I really hope that this incident doesn't stop "normal" amusement parks in the United States from building new courses.
  21. According to their 2014 catalogue - Apparently another operator IS required for every Sky Rail track, presumably to push the guest off. But I guess the element is designed to effectively attach onto the points of the course like any other obstacle.
  22. I'm fairly certain it's because the coaster uses the bulky, old-style, X-era trains. Apparently X was one of the worst-riding coasters in the history of all mankind - but since they put the new trains on and it became X2, I guess it's become a lot more tolerable.
  23. An operator hooks / unhooks you from the course in three locations - the entrance, the exit, and between the rail and zip line sections. This particular installation looks like it has one of their Sky Rail runs, which are like zip lines but don't require the guest to transfer as they're part of the normal rail system. So, in this case, the only place where the guy would have been hooked into the rail is at the entrance to the attraction. If the carabiner wasn't hooked properly by him or the operator for whatever reason or it failed, he would have fell and the wheelie thing with the slack line would have been left dangling from wherever he was last. If the rail failed or the operator wouldn't have inserted the wheelie thing into the rail properly, he and the slack line would have fallen together as a unit.
  24. Actually, the four colors do form something pretty close to a tetrad, a harmonious four-color combination. It's not exact but pretty close. EDIT: http://paletton.com/#uid=74C1E0ktD++hR+wnR+XIY+VZBM+
  25. There was a time a few years ago when new Looney Tunes shorts were shown preceding certain family films like that terrible Yogi Bear movie but they're not as relevant anymore. It seems as though Warner Bros is following Disney's lead and putting new Looney Tunes-like shorts on television sometime next year. Though unlike the new Mickey Mouse shorts, the Looney Tunes ones will be apparently broadcast as four shorts in a half-hour television block, so they'll last about five to six minutes each instead of Mickey Mouse's three minutes.
