  1. Yeah, I do think that the cobra roll kind of yanks you to either side when it starts to roll at the top, but I wouldn't call it rough by any standard. Just aggressive.
  2. Y'know, for as much useless roller coaster trivia that's floating throughout my brain, no, I do not have the RCDB bookmarked.
  3. Alpengeist still kicks some serious butt though.
  4. In fairness, didn't Sky Scream debut with only half of its theming?
  5. I'm going to move this here because it's more appropriate. Have you seen Mystic Manor?
  6. To add to this, for those of you who don't have the Roller Coaster Database in your bookmarks, Goliath at Six Flags Fiesta Texas was relocated from Six Flags New Orleans.
  7. It's tough for zoos all over because they attract a very specific type of guest. Even the small amusement area they're building now will help to broaden Kolmården's appeal.
  8. ^ They did, though their height requirement will be 48" with the seat insert. Also, concerning the stadium seating - keeping both cars the same will let them switch them around if needed.
  9. Opening day is right around the corner! https://www.facebook.com/KnoebelsAmusementResort/posts/10155358325455551
  10. Still off topic, but I have to say, I've been doing an intensive research project on marrying both of those things for my undergraduate thesis, and I've been having a lot of fun with it.
  11. It's really interesting, there are lots of little G-force "kicks" along the layout of the coaster. No offense to Gerstlauer, but this is much more interesting than a standard Euro-Fighter, which would have likely fit in the same footprint.
  12. Let's be honest with ourselves here - how many typical Busch Gardens Williamsburg guests do you think actually know that Superman Ultimate Flight exists over in California? Have a number? Awesome! Divide that number by 74,632 and you'll get how many typical guests know that Sky Scream exists. Busch Gardens has the right to invest their money in anything they want, and in this case it's an [apparently] really fun launched coaster in a seemingly-neglected area of the park that will absolutely be a hit with their guests.
  13. Are you implying that Baron is a rip-off of Tower of Terror? Tower of Terror is a rip off of a gold mining tower, even if the tower itself is authentic.
  14. Disregarding your opinion on the ride, I cringed at this.
  15. Tell us more. Not as many people here are familiar with your work and / or workflow.
  16. It's nice to see all of the grass that's grown up around Fury 325. Hopefully we'll some new trees in that area in a few years as well.
  17. I don't mean to put myself on a higher plane of existence here, but I wonder if anyone noticed that the structure is made of steel?
  18. So, it looks like the Cyclone got stuck on the lift hill and had to be evacuated. Nothing major for us, but I guess most people riding at the time were freaking out. www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Cyclone-Gets-Stuck-on-Opening-Day-Forcing-Riders-to-Take-Long-Climb-by-Foot-297930981.html
  19. The staggered seating is a huge gimmick in my opinion. It looks pretty cool, but it seems like it adds a lot of unnecessary length and weight to the trains. I'd bet that a nine- or even ten-car train with the traditional four-across weighs the same or less than an eight-car staggered one, and would still be shorter in length. You could get eight extra seats!
  20. Check out the full-length real on-ride video of Fury 325! On a personal note, it looks very graceful, which makes it [one of] my kind of coaster.
  21. And now with actual cars! Hopefully they'll speed up the lift by opening. [fbvideo] [/fbvideo]
  22. I would definitely be okay with another one of these "reproduction" Gravity Group coasters...
  23. Honestly, this whole thing sounds like a press release. If you're really a "normal" player like you say you are, stop just going down the phase features and repeating "it's so easy" and actually show us WHY you think it's so easy to use. Theme Park Studio will NOT be easy for everyone - much like Sketchup, an application that most 3D artists get their start in, is not easy for everyone either. I refuse to be a part of Early Access for Theme Park Studio because when I backed them initially I was promised a full retail release over a year ago, WITHOUT having to deal with the middleman that is Steam. I'm not going to touch it until it's fully finished, because I have more important things to worry about at this point in my career. Also, for the record, I AM butthurt about it. Also, I call shenanigans on this line here - I'd like you to tell me with a straight face that Theme Park Studio is more powerful than NoLimits 2. They may be on close levels to each other overall, fine, but nothing comes close to the accuracy, real-world usage and presentation capabilities of NoLimits 2. I'm coming to you as a person who uses NoLimits 2 in conjunction with other applications to create believable 3D scenes of attractions and parks, and what I have seen of Theme Park Studio doesn't even begin to match the stuff that I can make myself with NoLimits 2's assistance.
