  1. Bringing this conversation here so that it doesn't take the Phantasialand thread on a tangent... I'm probably nuts, but I don't see what the big fuss over this whole thing is. If I'm not mistaken, the coaster was already completely designed by Ride Centerline before S&S pulled out of the project, right? I would hardly call that a partnership - I can't help but think that it's literally no different than Intamin or any other company contracting out Stengel Engineering to do it. The fact that the coaster is an Intamin now probably isn't going to make the coaster any better or worse than when it was designed as an S&S. While certain companies like B&M have gone to designing AND manufacturing their own coasters, I'm pretty sure that the practice of having an outside firm to design the centerline and a manufacturing firm to provide the track, trains and control systems is nothing new to the industry.
  2. My goodness, are you guys watching the webcam with a bag of popcorn?
  3. Are you freaking serious? None of the box arts from the entire franchise have been completely representative of the final product. I'm not completely defending the game here, but when was the last time that a game's box art looked totally representative, especially in the recent history of video game publishing?
  4. I mean, it's an attraction with higher capacity than Flying Turns...
  5. I think it will look a lot better once the leaves start growing back. The blue and yellow will provide a nice contrast to the green. Also, the sunlight reflecting off of the snow might be adding to the brightness of the track and supports.
  6. While the delaying of the coaster is a bit depressing, the park belongs to the locals just as much as the tourists.
  7. ^ Appreciated. It's really more of a pet peeve than anything!
  8. They auto-play on the iOS app, which I don't like. Nope. Only the occasional internet article here and there. I usually scrub through the video first, and if I see something I like I watch the entire video. Meaningless, and some thumbnails even annoy me (see question 7). Advertisements are stupid. I'm not a big fan of "sensationalist" video thumbnails in general, so I'd like to see Theme Park Review do less of those (example: 40 Story Drop Ride! OMG!!!), especially considering that the thumbnail still is shamelessly slapped on at the end of the video for ten seconds or so, making the videos seem longer than they actually are.
  9. The lighting around the station is cool, but the super-bright lights along the lift hill are excessive.
  10. It would appear as though the entire story leads up to and reaches its climax at the drop into the treacherous mineshaft, with an "off-the-rails" mine carting experience through the local landscape taking place directly afterward (the Immelmann, Zero-G, spiral, etc). The theming throughout the coaster section would probably be with the ride vehicles - "the carts" - where a fake mine cart track wouldn't really be necessary considering that the "carts" would be off the rails. I'm not completely familiar with the attraction though.
  11. In some cases, the pre-show is what begins the guests' participation in the ride's story.
  12. That Barn Swing, as it stands, effectively forces you to use a theme that you may not want to use. If that ends up being the only swing ride in the game, it would be impossible to have a swing in your park without having a burning barn theme. For example, I would have loved to incorporate some gyroscopes into my RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 park but the only "Space Rings" ride was themed to Sci-fi - that same ride was generic in RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 and 2 so you could build your own theme around it. This was the case for several attractions in RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, such as a HUSS Condor-style attraction only being usable in the Adventure theme. Being locked into a theme really limits your creativity sometimes.
  13. The cobra roll and vertical loop are now finished. They're interesting shapes compared to other inversions. The cobra is almost a banana roll, and the loop actually pulls out at a higher height than it starts so the entire thing looks tilted to one side. [fbvideo] [/fbvideo]
  14. The new waterpark is an expansion to the current one which already has five waterslides.
  15. It's no worse than Six Flags and their Mind Eraser / Serial Thriller attractions (they named a few flat rides with those names too).
  16. Yeah, there's a stark contrast to the old ones, like the B&M trains on Steel Dragon 2000. Much more open-air. Also, does that mean I get a cookie?
  17. Those are S&S seats, doesn't S&S have all of the old Arrow assets? It would make sense considering that Titan is an Arrow.
  18. You've obviously been working on it, but give some time between updates. Give your viewers a chance to take the greatness in.
  19. I don't mean to point out the obvious, but... Knoebel lumber!
  20. I've moved this to the Random forum, generally discussion about games like Animal Crossing, Tapped Out, etc goes there.
  21. Slightly off topic, but what coaster is that? It looks like BMRX / Jetline / other Schwarzkopf with psycho drop but with different colors and trains.
  22. The very minuscule amount that you've shown us looks pretty good, but show us more and talk about it a little bit.
  23. I'm not sure what's going on here. You better give us those "details", and quickly.
  24. I really like the proposed selection of outdoor attractions. I'd go there for those alone! Who needs skiing in Florida?
  25. That spiral looks like it's going to be really intense.
