  1. Touche, and a very appropriate "touche" at that.
  2. ^ That doesn't necessarily mean anything. Kennywood's building a new coaster opening in May of 2010 and clearing (just clearing, removing the Turnpike, clearing trees, etc, no footers or anything coaster-related to my knowledge has been done yet) has only just begun a week ago. Now granted the coaster isn't HUGE, but it isn't a small project by any means.
  3. In my opinion, Dominator is one of the best (if not THE best) floorless coasters out there... Ever heard of Kraken? 20 billion times better than Dominator. I've yet to ride Kraken, but I still have ridden enough floorless coasters (4...5 counting SheiKra) for my opinion to hold some weight. And say it is number 2 to Kraken, is that not still "one of the best out there?"
  4. ^ Look at their blog... I think they've ruled out pretty much everything but Intamin.
  5. What happened to that box that said Whyte Lightning and other various things that was at Carowinds? Was it opened today?

  7. Awesome Photo TR! It's already been 3 years since I've been to SFMM...I really need to plan a trip back there in the next few years.
  8. I've been thinking of getting Batman, but I'm not sure. Is it repetitive? After you beat the game, is there anything else to do? Something that will last too, not some silly game mode where you play once and you're done.
  9. Wow, Looks like all the old Paramount Parks are switching to Snoopy. I think KI will be next to announce it's snoopy, but I don't think CGA will get snoopy. The contract with Nickelodeon was not renewed for any of their parks. That is why they are interested in the New Orleans park. I think this is a BAD move on their part. Kids these days relate to the nick characters not the peanuts ones. Yeah, but all the Nick characters currently in the Paramount parks are all old, and ones kids don't know. Wild Thornberrys? Rugrats? Hey Arnold? They probably know who they are, but can't relate to them like people my age used to. Whereas, EVERYONE (exaggeration, of course) knows who Snoopy and Charlie Brown are. Tell that to my two year old that flipped out when she saw Spongebob or Dora. We had to ride everything that was open (KI in May so lots of their rides were closed during the day). I still think it will hurt CF more than they realize. Well yeah, because Spongebob and Dora are still on TV. There are still a lot of outdated themes such as Rocket Power, Hey Arnold, Rugrats, Wild Thornberrys, etc. Yeah, definitely. Why keep paying fees throughout the years when you can just use a theme you already have a license for?

  11. I like how it's similar to Nitro, hands down my number one B&M Hyper. looks awesome!
  12. Cedar Point with a shuttle coaster? No way. It's going to be a woodie, just not sure if it's an Intamin, TGG, GCII, or someone else. But it is going to be wood. Wicked Twister is a shuttle coaster. Also, CP already confirmed that it WON'T be a GCI.
  13. Nice read! I was surprised to see Ferarri on there. If anything, I think that's a cool/neat park, and one I'd like to go to.
  14. Maybe a shooting dark ride where you're either the Hatfields or McCoys and shoot the opposite family? But then again, what would that have to do with Millennium Island, unless they're building two new rides.
  15. I also have to agree with an Intamin spinner or a Premier launched like Kennywood's new coaster. Regarding the dog, maybe CP is making their own version of the "Dog Fart Coaster!"
  16. I have to agree with both. That trim killed Diamondback, could have been so much better, but it must be there and on so hard for a reason, so oh well. I also love the Beast after the second lift. It's just so insane, fast-paced, and intense...especially at night!
  17. I like them. They aren't great coasters (except arguably Phantom), but they're not bad either. Steel Force was a fun coaster, and Phantom's Revenge is, well Phantom's Revenge.
  18. Um, let's see. He's on a rod that's clearly visible. His movement is worse than any of Disney's A100 animatronics, and his mouth moves like the dinosaurs in Universe of Energy. Universal does some things great, but I've yet to see them pull off a decent animatronic. What did you want them to do? Bring Harry Potter over from the new section over in IOA and tell him to use his levitation spell on Imhotep? Which would you rather have, that or a "cardboard cutout" like at every Cedar Fair or Six Flags park? No one said it was better than any of Disney's rides... Like I've already said, yes there are flaws, but they still did a damn good job, and it was already $40 million as it is, there probably wasn't much more they could do. And if you dislike it so much, and all the flaws get you so angry, then here's a simple solution, DON'T RIDE IT, or even converse about it for that matter!!! I don't know about you, but I tend to avoid the things I dislike, not purposely seek them. Again, I love watching and hearing how picky people are.
  19. LOL Didn't they try this once already? I believe its called Mean Streak, and we know how that turned out. I won't be thinking about that idea at all Yeah but Mean Streak was obviously built prematurely and before it's time. New and different technology is available now that wasn't there in 1991. I was just throwing it out there as some food for thought. Besides, Magnum didn't stop them from building Millennium, essentially a taller and faster Magnum. Son of Beast is a large coaster because it's fairly long. Look at El Toro. It's 181 feet tall and 4400 feet long (about 2600 feet shorter than SOB), and it doesn't seem to take up a huge chunk of land at all. Plus T&T have insisted numerous times that Cedar Point is NOT running out of space.
  20. Maybe because Son of Beast might close down for good, this will open up an opportunity for Cedar Point to build the tallest and fastest wooden coaster? Not necessarily next year, but eventually. Something to think about.
  21. I'd like to join the fantasy league. I've only done fantasy for 2 years, but the first year I won it all, and the second I lost in the final. I have been following football in general since I was a little tot, so you can expect some good competition from me.
  22. Oh man, you have a LOT of catching up to do.
  23. ^ Don't tell it to me, I already think Tatsu is an amazing coaster, tell it to the person who's complaining about it.
  24. I forgot about that one. That was also closed when I was at KBF in 2006. I don't have any good luck when it comes to water rides.
