  1. It looks very impressive so far, even though I don't like the shaping of the first two big hills. Looks a bit more like B&M, compared to Intamin hills.
  2. A picture showing of work close to the wave pool has been posted on the park's Facebook. After hearing the scale of this investment I would actually guess that they may be installing a Proslide hydromagnetic water coaster of some size. It would really make sense. First one in Europe, and it is the hot new thing for water parks. Add to this that Parks and Resorts have become much more aware of what they are installing in their parks and it adds up. It also fits with the announcement of it being one of the biggest investments in the parks history. Source This might not have been to far away from the truth after all. Seems however they are hoping to attract Helix riders by investing big money in a major water attraction instead of trying to counter with a coaster (seriously, it would have been stupid to try and compete with Helix). A water coaster on the other hand makes sense. Even if it's "only" just a big waterside, like a Tornado or something similar, it will still have a big impact in bringing in guests to the park.
  3. Some photos from the new viking area that is being built for 2014. The new area will feature two towers from Heege/Sunkid as well as a swinging viking ship from HUSS. Source
  4. I think it will be better. Blue Fire only have two really good elements, which are the barrel roll, and the turn right after the loop. This ride have both of those, but also the pretzel loop, the helix around the tree, the top hat, hang time corkscrew out of the station and the last airtime hill, all of which are likely to be really good elements. Some of them will probably turn out less spectacular than it looks, but still it will probably in the end have more epic elements than Blue Fire.
  5. Someone asked Proslide on their Facebook about the opening, and they answered that they were aiming for 2015. The comment have now been deleted which makes me think that we are going to have to wait for 2016 at least for this park. It would be so cool if some concept drawings or blueprints would leak, I really can't wait to see this place come together!
  6. Not much, but construction has started. Source
  7. Some info about the assembling of the slides: And some new photos: I actually really like the look of the buildings at their Utah park, they are so colorful, so I have no doubt that these will turn out just as cool looking. Source
  8. I do think it's a bit cheaper, but I doubt they are saving a lot of money on building it this way.
  9. That is sad to hear. I can totally understand how it can happen though, as every time I visit a water park (that happens quite often) I always see some poor lifeguard with a kid that has no supervising parent in sight. One would think people would care about their kids.. Oh I will most definitely check it out!
  10. I really didn't like it, but my girlfriend did, so we did it probably 5-6 times. There more I rode it, the more it grew on me, and when the day at the park was over I thought it was awesome, and I still think it is.
  11. I actually got really nervous when I rode it, with the old theme, and we went into the turntable house. I was just waiting for something to pop up and scare the crap out of me! lol It will be a Vicky Viking theme and hopefully it will turn out as good as it did in Plopsaland. Photo source
  12. Here are some fresh photos of the re-theme to the log flume. It will be the new entrance, and my guess is that it is going to look good when done! Source
  13. That looks amazing! I don't think the pictures we have seen earlier have made this place justice. It looks a lot more Impressive with the photos from inside the park.
  14. The park is celebrating 30 years this season, and they just announced that the new attraction will be announced in February, and that it will be one of the biggest investments in the history of the park. It will be a water attraction, but they have not said if it will be in the water park, or the amusement park. I know that they are absolute thrilled about there newly found partnership with Proslide, so if it's for the water park I'm sure it will be from them. Personally I hope for a magnetic water coaster. Source
  15. Cool new video about the resuming of construction can be found here.
  16. New for 2013, FÃ¥rup will renovate/overhaul their treasure hunt course (obstacle course). You have until 16 of February to give them new ideas on their Facebook, and also suggestions on what could be improved. If you have been there, and can remember the course, then go in to their Facebook page and tell them what you would like to be added/changed. There is no problem writing in English. https://www.facebook.com/faarupsommerland Don't know the almost legendary FÃ¥rup action course? Check out my POV here: themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1338250
  17. I have been doing some digging around since I found out about this, and heres what I've found. Better quality overview This tower has been changed slightly for the final version The park has actually gone quite far in construction. The earlier posted photos of the bottom of the wave pool being poured is the latest. Here are some slightly older ones. Source
  18. Here are some detailed renderings of the play structure. It's pretty much the same as the one at Cowabunga Bay Draper, and the same as the Cowabunga Bay Las Vegas will be getting. Source
  19. That is great news! If I'm not able to go if theres a third event, then it's not meant to be. Awesome progress on the ride today, been following it the whole day from school.
  20. This place is slowly turning in to a water park! Looks like most of the groundwork is done, and they will now start to prepare to do the pouring of the wave pool. Source
  21. Looks like you had an awesome time!
  22. It's done! I think it looks awesome, yet a little bit weird, as I excepted the crown to be a lot wider than the tower. Now a few weeks of electrical installation will follow, and then they will assemble the ride vehicle and then we will see some testing. Source
