  1. Yes, it looks to be only the machinery up so far.
  2. Some lucky bastards have tried the mat racer: My only concern with this new proto racer was that a lot of speed would be lost going into the octopus rings, after the uphill section, but judging by the laughs it's probably fast enough. The grass in the photo is from photoshop. Here's a video of people testing out the Humangaslide: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=587136354716722 Source
  3. According to their Facebook the big play structure won't open with the park this year, it will be added next year or possibly later down the road. Here are some new shots of the model of the Surf Safari ride. Looks really cool, and I can't wait for the day when I get to try it out. Source
  4. Awesome news on the Intamin water coaster! Hopefully we'll see a more appealing designed than DiVertical. As awesome as it looks, I doubt there is many parks out there that wants to spend €15 million+ that it cost to install a water coaster of that magnitude.
  5. This place just look so amazing! And from what I have understand, Chimelong is one of the absolute best operator of parks in China. Source
  6. ^ I think that there would be to much pressure on your body, from the contact points of the restraints, if the ride was braked in the face down position. It would cause some great pain for people who have a higher weight (and probably normal weight people as well). The ride will hit a pre-brake section where the seats will start to flip back, and then the main brakes will start. So there won't be to much free falling on this tower, but I think the tilt system will more than make up for that. This will probably be the best drop tower in the world IMO. Here is two photo where you can see the pre-brakes, as well as where the main brakes starts. Source
  7. Somehow I missed this, but I always love when parks take good care of their older rides.
  8. I have found some more concept art for the park! Overview of the park, with more than just the rides. Concept art from Polin, of the play structure. Lot's of dinosaurs here! This is the new generation of play structures from Polin, the first one will open this summer at the Cartoon Network park. The old generation they had was nice, but these new ones will be dynamite, and maybe even better than Whitewater's. It's not only land clearing, work have actually begun. It's so awesome to see that this park may actually get built! Hopefully it will be open before christmas. Source Source
  9. From the parks Facebook: Looks like the new wave lagoon/river entry is taking shape. Also nice to see that the new slides will get a real pool, instead of a runout (I hate runouts!). Source
  10. Does anyone know if there will be a steel poll for this year, or if it will take a break?
  11. Now that is f*****g annoying, I have an exam on that day! Oh well, that's life, Hopefully there will be another backstage tour (I kind of doubt it) as the third time is a charm. Anyway amazing photos as always! Can't wait for opening day.
  12. This was my first thought as well. There better be a lot of dinosaurs once the park is done! I want a slide where I end up in a T-Rex Mouth! That slide would be so full of win! On a serious note, I'm excepting it to look something like this, if the park gets built:
  13. I must have missed that, I only saw the two cranes up behind the station this morning. Good to hear they are still putting up track for us to drool at
  14. It's a bit the same on our Swedish ship board as well. I personally like it as "the less info that is out, the less things there are that people can start to complain about".
  15. The tower is supposed to be topped of before the week is out. Can't wait to see how it will look! Also very interested in the "sunset" paint job that the ride will be getting after that.
  16. For the next major addition the park has gone back to Mack again. In 2014 a splash battle will open. It will actually have a very original theme IMO. It will be called "Alligator Bay" and be themed to Mississippi/Louisiana paddle boats. Model of the station Low quality concept art. Construction Boats. I love the different themes we have seen on splash battles lately. Vikings for Plopsaland, Cambodia for Port Aventura and now this. Source
  17. Up up and up it goes! Source
  18. To be fair, Polin has always been a major supplier. They are just gaining main stream recognition now. Their main focus earlier has only been Europe and the Arabian tourist countries (that last market is however HUGE!). They are the second biggest water park company in the world, only Whitewater is bigger. It's just basic concept art of the rides, I would except much more theming when the park is done, if they are keeping the name.
  19. For being a brad new coster train, that looks like a step in the wrong direction. Companies like Gerstlauer and Mack has really pushed the family coster trains into a new level of comfort, and I would have excepted more if I were buying this brad new ride. Still it's good to see the park care enough to replace it, but Plopsaland is also a quality A park.
  20. Looks like the fun part is over, and the crew has moved over to the station to install the track and transfer equipment. I had hoped they would have finished the top hat before, as I can't wait to see how it turns out!
