  1. Ah, I see! But wouldn't a screen there be kind of ineffective, considering the town is facing the opposite direction?
  2. It's probably just a precaution, if the two towers would have to be connected in the future Xcelerator style. Blue Fire also have the same thing on it's two biggest supports (but not the Blue Fire clones built afterwards). But it could also be for something else.
  3. It's kind of weird. Looks like they will be getting a King Cobra from Polin. Which is awesome, but I was kind of expecting more since they said it would be one of the biggest investments in the park history, as well as the new relationship with Proslide who seems to be very solid. But it's definitely awesome if it is indeed a King cobra, as some here might know i really LOVE Polin!
  4. I have been knowing this park ever since it was announced, but I didn't think they actually were on schedule with their construction, as there have been absolutely no photos at all since the ground breaking ceremony. This will truly be the water park year for Thailand, with this, as well as the Cartoon Network and Dino water park opening. I will keep to update this thread with more photos as I find them. Today this photo popped up, so it looks like this is happening. The park is scheduled to open in the late summer. It will be the first of many proposed water parks from Whitewater West to actually get built. This photo shows the steel structure for the giant Abyss slide, as well as the family boomerang. Here's an overview. Some stand out rides will be the two family slides, an abyss and a family boomerang, as well as an Aqualoop, Rattler, Superbowl, Aquacourse, Master Blaster and a RainFortress. There will also be a small wave pool, with a stage of course, as well as a lazy river and toddler area. Here asre some more concept art. I wonder if they will follow through with the "mountain theme" around the Abyss slide. Source
  5. Here's a fresh photo, but still not that interesting. Source
  6. Hey Shane, I don't know how often you visit nowadays, but could you share your feelings about the character Kenny Clark, and all the alias of said character?
  7. That particular model of the flow rider is awesome! Bö Sommarland have a smilier one.
  8. I think this looks like a very solid coaster, and it will probably the one who breaks the trend of Zamperla only making mediocre coasters. Maybe parks who have a good relationship with Zamperla will start to buy this type of coaster now, instead of the Volare.
  9. ^^ It will be a standard size ship. I think the reason the footer looks so big is that the ship is from HUSS, who have a "larger than average" footprint for their ship, thanks to the support being much less vertical than what you usually find on these attractions. Source
  10. Insert big-ass viking ship here. Source
  11. That is very interesting, I don't think I have seen it done like that on any other ride I've followed construction on.
  12. The big lift for the top hat is about to start! Looks like they have a 50 meter and a 80 meter crane on site, as well as the crane that is always on location. But I really wonder what this suport is for, surely it's not meant to be there?
  13. The concept art shows the Vekoma ride, so we don't have any idea yet of the layout yet. It could still be a custom layout even if it's a shuttle. I personally think it's going to be the same as Gold Rush though.
  14. Awesome, these are perfect rides for the entire family! Looks like they took the concept art straight from Vekomas catalog
  15. That actually looks very nice for a Cedar Fair station.
  16. ^^ Well that was only a matter of time. No doubt this will be settled out of court. If you ask me they both share the responsibility equally, Six Flags operated the ride faulty and Gerstlauer made the train (no getting around that). This will probably mean no more Gerstlauer rides in Six Flags park for quite some time, which is a shame really.
  17. The parks roller skater is getting some love and tender done for the 2014 season. Some track adjustments will be made in the curves, as well as a new brake system, who I guess will be magnetic. Source
  18. I don't think that they will be released like in the video, as there are going to be wires attached to them, used to pull the seats up. It's going to be real interesting to see this tower operate.
  19. I always thought there is so much potential for this place. The location is pure dynamite! It could turn out to a mix between Tivoli Friheden and Tivoli Gröna Lund. Sure there are a few issues that needs to be adressed. For an example, they need to make a deal with the city so that they can cut down threes within the parks limit, in order to use the space optimally. Sure they need to save the landscaping around the park so that they don't ruin the atmosphere of the place, but within the park they need to be able to change the area. Also I don't think anyone will buy this place with the intention to restore the current rides, if someone like Plopsa for an example would buy it, it would probably be only for the land. They would most likely then tear down all the attractions that are currently there and build the park up from scratch. The parking is also an issue that's need to be adressed, but there is an currently unused area of 5 hector (think 2000 cars) on the other side of the river that could probably be bought. Then a pedestrian bridge similar to the Kaisersteg could be built for around €5 million. Sure it's a lot of money, but not if you are building an entire new park. As I said, there are a lot of changes that need to be made, but if only they could get the city to cooperate, then there is huge potential for this place. Below is a fast drawing of how you could make this place into a real park of world class. I putted some "standard rides" footprints in there, so you could get an idea of the scale, as well as what I mean with the landscape buffer around the park. This would really be something.
  20. Looks like they will place the launch boxes against each other, similar to the Splastacular slides that Six Flags have been installing, which is awesome IMO. Is also nice to see them installing drop boxes slides that is taller than the average 60 feet they all seems to be stuck with. Looks like a killer addition to an already impressive water park..
  21. That is.. disappointing. Oh well, I can really understand the park here, the ride has to be imported from South America, and if it's also in need of a very expensive renovation, then I imagine that it is up there in the "new coaster" price range. Will be interesting to see what they annouce instead.
  22. Good question, the ballot helper is up here, but there is nothing about it on the official site, so I'm guessing no.
  23. Great final! Well great and great, we fell right in Canada's trap, but overall I'm very happy we won silver, I did really not except that when the tournament started, after all the injuries of some very important players. Didn't know if I should have laughed or cried when it was announced that Bäckström would not be playing the game, after getting caught in the drug test. Seems like his allergy medicins was not allowed if you wanted to play. Kind of funny that he has been on it for the last 10 years.. I'm very surprised Canada took home the whole tournament as well, as they didn't seem to be fully in their games, but they really woke up for the last few games, and the final showed some very impressive hockey today! Overall great tournament, that probably won't be remembered as the best, but still a very solid one and congrats to Canada.
