  1. I would hate to see them on the Zacspin though, that would be horrible!
  2. The kick-ass looking new LSM coaster in Turkey also got them!
  3. How about some new photos of this awesome new train from Intamin? And as I wrote about a year ago in this thread, imagine if these restraints could be converted to all the Intamin's using the OTSR introduced on Storm Runner! Source
  4. yeah, I have also realized that after I made the post. Here are some fresh photos from outside the park. These photos give some perspective on how big this tower really is. 7 stories. That is taller than 95% of the worlds speed slides. Love the look of the sphere, can't wait for a video on how it will work inside. I remember a while ago I thought to myself that this structure was not so big after all. After watching these photos I have realized that the other tower is only making this one look small. But it is still huge. Source
  5. If I were to have a theme park it would be family oriented all the way! I would hate to be a big soulless park! The place would be much more landscaping oriented rather than themed. I would much rather have beautiful buildings, coaster stations, trees and flowers, rock work and waterfalls etc. The theming would be limited to the rides (a train on the coaster, a swinging ship actually looks like a ship, an himalaya themed to ladybirds etc..) A few rides I would prefer: Mack Blue Fire clone - the perfect big thrill coaster, not to intense for the family market, still highly appreciated by the enthusiasts. Intamin Megalite - same as above, only the other way around. Highly loved by enthusiast, still appeals to everyone above the height limit. Intamin Jetski coaster - the perfect family thrill ride, and it's very hard to beat this specific coaster type in terms of 'fun'. Mack Dwervelwind clone - amazingly fun family ride, that have the fun twist of spinning, but is still not to thrilling. Mack Youngstar - Perfect as your entry coaster, and perfect for the little ones to take their first spin on a coaster. Water rides: Hafema rapids ride, with a whirlpool and a drop, similar to Imperio das agues at Beto Carrero World. Mack flume ride, with a double down drop, backwards drop and some nice landscaping. ABC mini flume, similar to the one at Familypark Neusiedlersee. Thrill rides: Intamin drop tower around 75 meters tall. Zamperla Giant Discovery. These two would be enough to keep the older kids and adult occupied. And there would be a crapload of good looking family and children oriented flat rides, all nicely themed. A few examples below. There would also be a water park, with a gigantic play structure. Also rides that once again is family oriented like a mat racer, family raft, wave pool etc.. Probably an aqua loop and a free fall slide as well, to cater to the older ones.
  6. When I say quite some time I mean a couple of years, which is what it too Six Flags to start dealing with Intamin again.
  7. I have no idea how this project slipped by me, but it looks like an amazing project, that is scheduled to open this summer. The whole park will be built by Polin, and it will have a really great group of slides and pools. The park was originally intended to open in 2012, but it looks like it will most definitely open now this summer. Here is the park's Facebook page. Here is an interesting PDF of the park. This concept art show slides from Proslide, but it looks like it has changed since the original plans were made to Polin. Here is some concept art for the slide: Here is an overview of the place. The only thing I don't like is that the play structure will be sized for kids only. More concept art. I was so glad when I found the Dino Water Park project, and learnt that the Polin Magicone would finally be built. Now there is another one, that will open even sooner. The place will also have Polin's first dueling non inverting looping slides, a blaster slide, family raft, sphere slide, bowl slide, boomerang, regular tube slides as well as an standard mat racer. Entrance plaza. The park is well into construction, here are som older photos. Ground work. Some more. Some drilling going on. Preparations for a pool. Parking place preparations. Looks like the ground is not ideal for building a water park, if you want easy construction. More parking place. Some concrete will go here. Parking place is coming together. Even better. Footers. Almost done. From the air. Lazy river. Pouring some cement. Piping is a big part of building a water park. Lot's of pipe. Cool cement truck! Tower going up. More pouring. Lazy river. I'm guessing this is the wave pool chambers. Footers. Pump room? Shiny mat racer pieces on site. Going up. Another angle. This photo will look great in a few months. Sphere slide being assembled. Tower for the family slides. Big ass towers, probably for the family slides. Loop slides! Looks great. Overview. Everything is smooth and shiny. Only the launch boxes left. From the family slide tower. Lazy river work. Family raft slide being assembled. Here are the most recent photos: Family raft going up. Another angle. And another one. If you look closely at the big fall, you will see that it has these vertical stripes. It will be light effects inside the slide, in the same direction you are falling. Very cool feature IMO, and I don't think I have seen that before on a fall slide. Blaster slide. Blaster slide, as well as the sphere slide. The helix's on the loop slides looks incredible tight if you ask me, I hope it dosen't cause any over flip problems. The family slide is almost finished. I can't wait for them to start building the Magicone. Source
  8. For some reason this SLC looks really good! It must be the setting.
  9. That is absolutely correct! I was speaking in terms of maintenance. I don't think they will do that. Vekoma did, and now there are knock offs all over China using the Vekoma track. If a factory in China were to start building B&M track I think it wouldn't be to much long before the secret on how to make the track would get out to those manufacturers.
  10. Why would you compare dragster to a B&M coaster? It's like comparing apples to a fishing boat. Dragster have the (along with Kingda Ka and Formula Rossa) longest and most advanced launch on any coaster on the earth. Of course it's going to have higher maintenance costs than a regular B&M ride. It would be the exakt same way if B&M would have been the maker of it. Go to Mirabilandia and compare the cost of Katun and iSpeed, and you will find that the Intamin ride is the cheapest one to own. That one have an LSM launch, with almost no moving parts, so it can't be compared to the B&M ride, it's the same thing as I wrote above. That is not really the point. The point is that most enthusiasts seems to think it's a very good deal to own a B&M money as you don't have to do any maintenance on them, and that they therefore don't cost a lot of money, but that is wrong. But that is the thing, B&M's are not low in maintenance cost, they have simple and very well thought of designs, but still the scheduled maintenance that needs to be done needs to be done, and it's not cheap. X-flight is not a very good example IMO as the whole design of the train is faulty, that should have been noted when they bought the ride. Yes, they make simpler designs, but all B&M's are major installations. Find an Intamin installation that is similar to a B&M installation, for an example Fahrenheit, and you will find out that the B&M coaster is not so cheap in maintenance after all. Modifications to the ride is not really a thing when you talk about maintenance if you would ask me. Besides, Intamin foots the bill for those modifications thorough warranty anyway.
  11. Concept art of the TRON Coaster? All I have 'seen' is the proposed layout of the circuit that the coaster takes. (It's posted back around the middle of this thread.) So - you have seen concept art of the coaster train, itself? Awesome if you have - and can you share, here? I have no idea if it's legit, but this is it: Source
  12. Just to clarify, I was speaking of the Blue Fire one when I said facing away from the town. As for Helix I sure hope it won't be installed as it will ruin the aesthetics completely, but still I have a feeling those darn neighbors to the park will make it happen
  13. The Tron coaster looks really cool so far! From the concept art I have seen it looks like it will have vehicles similar to the Jetski/ATV trains from Intamin, who should be much more comfy than the regular motorbikes.
  14. That looks awesome! Will you have rock work around the whole river, or will it be in specific places like the lagoon?
  15. That is awesome news! I love the concept of Full'Throttle (except the YOLO name!)
  16. They are paying for buying a prototype, not for being cheap.
  17. Because they wanted the ride design the way it is, with a launched lift hill, and why ask B&M to build a coaster they don't want to, as opposed to ask a company who would love to do it? Sure B&M have now changed their mind about launch coasters, but this park was in the planning since 2006, and then they were not to found of the launch concept. The money were probably not a big factor in the decision, because the Battlestar Galactica was a real expensive ride. Also remember that while the park have a Universal brand, it is not owned or operated by Universal if I remember correctly, the developers of the park just license it. So Universal making lot's of money isn't really relevant.
  18. Not to sound like a douche, but have you any idea how much a B&M coaster costs in maintenance? Believe me it ain't cheap! The big advantage with a B&M coaster is their reliability.
  19. The park have not built a family oriented coaster since the 90's, I really think it's time to start spending big money on that. Juvelen and Winja's are perfect examples of what you can achieve in a family ride, if you just decide to invest a bit more time and money.
  20. I doubt it, parks who buy a B&M coaster don't really think they are buying a forceless ride, they are thinking they are buying a top notch thrill machine, and I would be very surprised if parks are the reason why B&M have gone to the more forceless designs. FOTR has to be more intense than the other wing riders based on the layout. Regarding Hair Raiser and Sky Scrapper, We won't know until someone in the western world buys a floorless or a flyer again, as B&M seems to have changed up the way they design their rides lately.
  21. I'm very impressed by the marketing of this ride. Present the ride like a completely regular wooden coaster with some crazy elements, and then the whole worlds enthusiasts jaws dropped. Then they release this half a year later, and the worlds enthusiasts jaws dropped again. Very clever IMO.
  22. Hmm, I'm always interested in new developments and concepts, but I'm not really a fan of this particular concept.
