  1. Looks like Alpina Blitz boosted the attendance by 7%, they are now hoping for a strong Halloween so the growth of the year will reach the planned 10%. They are also hoping that the ride will also pull in guest during 2015, and for 2016 they are planning on opening a Mack Supersplash or a new themed area with family rides and restaurants. Source
  2. I have only ridden Helix this year, but it blew me away big time! Having ridden Blue Fire I knew that Mack rides are very low on the forces, so I kept my expectations very realistic. I think that is the reason it surprised me in such a big way as it did, I did not except it to be as good as it was. I would call Helix the all-mountain ski of roller coasters. A coaster that is good at everything, but not exceptionally good in any specific area.
  3. The park have now officially opened! It looks like they have the coolest mat racer in the world! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdOC9IW07hg It appears that the only slide still not being open is the big sphere, and I think that is also the one everybody wants to really see in action!
  4. New for 2015 is a long awaited new children/family area. Almost 8 million USD is invested in this. The old kids area known as "Lilleputland" will be completely demolished and all the rides have been sold. It will be replaced with new rides and the whole area will be themed to a farm, which is rather unique here in northern Europe. The new area will have 10 new rides. I really love this idea, as this area is one of the last places in the park in bad need of being upgraded to the new standard of the park. A lot of rides looks to be from Zamperla like Magic Bikes, Barnyard, Jump Around and Demolition Derby. There will also be a tractor ride, which I'm guessing is from ABC rides, Djurs have a great relationship with them. Looks like a Zierer Force Two coaster is being built, which is awesome as the old wacky worm were just crappy. Also from Zierer looks to be two family drop towers and Dragon Boats. Also 2 more rides, one I can see on the map but don't know what it is (some kind of airplane ride?) and the last one I can't see. Source
  5. Not that many years ago it was the placement of the Top Spin ride. I thought a new ride would be placed up on the mountain but I think this will also be a good placement.
  6. That train looks awesome! To bad it will ride like absolute crap..
  7. Here's an seriously amazing video of the navigating out to the sea for one of the biggest ships Meyer have ever built (Meyer weft is located upstreams in a river). I am so not jealous of the captain in the tugboat!
  8. Looks like Expedition Geforce will finally receive a proper station for next season! Or at least a roof. It's a bit hard to speculate what it actually means, but knowing Plopsa I'm sure it will be a proper themed station. Source
  9. This park have not invested in a new ride in what seems like forever. I would think that they would not invest in a big thrilling coaster immediately after deciding to invest again. I also feel that a big thrilling ride would not contribute anything to the parks lineup. There are already lot's of big thrilling coasters with inversions and also two airtime machines. What really lacks is one or two good solid family coasters. I would also guess for something like a water coaster or a spinning coaster.
  10. Awesome photos from some great parks!
  11. Why are you quoting me? How does you post have anything to do with mine?
  12. While everybody is excited for Wildfire remember that there is a Zierer coaster coming in 2015, they have started to manufacture the train in Germany. Looks like the theming will be great in this new kiddie area! Source
  13. Steel Dragon was perfectly fine running ride when B&M came in and redid the trains, there was basically no risk involved. The GIB have a horrible track record and Vekoma could barely make them work, I don't think B&M would have wanted to touch it with a stick if asked. B&M manufactures all their trains in France.
  14. The new Vekoma trains have a new boogie which take a "tighter" grip of the rails, to improve the tracking. I'm not sure how much it will improve though, because it depends on what condition the current track have, how "tight" they can make the new boogies. But the new SLCs have much traceability compared to the older ones. I don't think I understand what you mean, what would be wrong with the clearance?
  15. Awesome! Thanks for the update, the park is looking really good, and I hope to visit within the next few years
  16. The ride is going to be aimed at teenagers and be a thrilling ride according to Andreas. There have been a rumor floating around for quite some time that this will be a new version of the Zierer Star Shape. If it turns out to be true it's a really good decision as the park have been without an inverting flat ride for quite some time now.
  17. Not really been that active lately but this is, along with Kärnan, is my favorite project for 2015. Everything just screams originality of this, and I can't wait to see the final result! The one at Hansa will look like this when finished, it's quite a difference.
  18. This really awesome looking park have been expanding, I guess it have been really popular! There is a new splash pad area Looks pretty great Water features are always fun Another photo Love mushrooms! One last shot This pool is new, I really love how it is just about on the water Looks like the people are liking it too! Whitewater have opened another attraction here It's a 6-lane Whizzard, but it's a completely new version for them. The rings are a lot bigger, and they have a much bigger drop in elevation. This photo shows the difference between Whitewater's and Proslide's Octopus racers I think it looks good, and it should be an improvement from the earlier Whitewater Whizzard's (which are also totally awesome!) This is also new, the mat racer is also visible in the corner Still can't get over how good this mountain looks! Proslide have also done another installation here It's a Mammoth and a Turbo mammoth It's the same complex as at Happy Valley Shanghai and Tianjin, only difference is that the Turbo version starts with a 360 helix instead of just a drop. I think it's an improvement from the others I think it looks really good! It turned out to actually be a pretty big issue! The flood was apparently record big and it's back to normal now, but still.. This dosen't look good... It's not really a small flood, this is how it usually looks. Looks like the water got around 10 feet higher than normal Looks pretty bad Areal shot of the flood It's saddens me to see such awesome water slides under water Source Source Source
  19. Awesome photos and congratulations! How is it going with the family slides?
  20. Awesome photo report! I also would love to know how it compares to regular drop towers, and which one you would rather ride
  21. Awesome to see KD invest in the water park, but I do think they could have used a mat racer slide as well.
  22. Europe could definitely use a second RMC coaster in 2016
  23. I really love what B&M and Carowinds are doing with this one. As I said earlier B&M hypers are not great airtime machines, and to have one who is focusing on speed turns and overbanks is just awesome. This is exactly what they should do IMO. The turnaround almost look like something RMC have designed, I love it!
  24. Thanks for the photo, it looks awesome! The park have more land with this expansion than I thought, I hope they use it well. It would be great to see another coaster being built for 2016, it's been a while since Black Mamba was built.
