  1. I really can't stress enough how people have been saying since half-way through the first season that the ride has been slowed down, the launch is slower and whatever else. I'm not saying that people should be happy with a diminished ride experience and suck it up so it operates, I'm saying that it's **probably** not diminished and the "I rode it when it was better" crowd is lying to themselves so they feel cool for being one of the six people to successfully ride it when it first opened. I have no doubt that the day the ride opens and the train is half empty for social distancing and it's cold and crappy out these people will be blowing up the internet talking about how much better it used to be but let's wait and see if that's actually even true. I'm optimistic that it won't be. PS: everyone also complained about a pothole endlessly that won't exist any more, so maybe it will actually be better! Now Mystery Mine? That's a different story. lol
  2. Did I call this or what? Anyway, I did better side-by-side comparison for you.
  3. Amazing photos... especially that Port of Entry one.
  4. Congrats to them. I love this park.
  5. You know that Cedar Fair runs this event in Canada and both other major parks in the region run Christmas events with basically their full parks open, right? If their attendance sucked they have nobody to blame but themselves. The weather in Kansas City is fine.
  6. So what you're trying to say is that Dollywood has baffled Baffles?
  7. Yeah, that sucks a lot. I can't really put a positive spin on that one... I totally agree, that was one of the best parts of the ride.
  8. "Super Manège was a rough ride" "Hold my beer"
  9. The park can't possibly get worse and can only really improve, so I absolutely welcome this move.
  10. Nice report. That’s cool that they’re alerting guests of changing elevations. If only there were some kind of ride that could magically take guests up or down that steep hill near Lickskillet on like a cable or something... that would be some crazy sh*t, right?
  11. There is already a thread dedicated to discussing this park. Feel free to discuss this here.
  12. Some eagle-eyed people have noticed that the Sky Buckets have been removed from the website. Assuming it’s not just an incredibly-unlikely site error and the ride is being removed, I can’t say I’m surprised but it’s a bummer. Aside from it being a nice ride, it’s also a bummer because they’ll probably leave the towers there forever like New England and it’s a straight budget cut since it’s not opening up any real space.
  13. I enjoyed that immensely. It's so cool that they're doing it. It's much better than I'd expect from Six Flags but I say that about most things at Fiesta Texas.
  14. We've known that surface transmission really wasn't a thing for at least six months but people don't pay attention to that for some reason... Parks wiping down touch points are just doing it so that people see them doing it and think it matters. The virus spreads in the air, but parks can't do anything to make people feel better about that aside from make them wear masks and put lines on the ground for people to ignore so they have a guy Lysol a trashcan or handrail while a bunch of people are watching to pacify people. It's dumb. Edit: That said, yes. Buffets have always been disgusting. lol
  15. I don’t entirely understand why this is getting so much publicity and so many questions surrounding it as if there aren’t 15 other states with no mask mandates including many states that have Six Flags theme parks where they still plan to require masks.
  16. We actually walked through the Shark exhibit and rest of Discovery Point the other day. It was all super nice, I almost felt like I was at a SeaWorld park for a second... (Can you tell the rest of this park just weirds me out? lol)
  17. Don't rush to the park in the morning to knock out the coasters unless you just want to marathon Steel Eel for an hour (which isn't the worst thing in the world) as every other coaster opens an hour late and every coaster period closes at least 15 minutes early because it's SeaWorld San Antonio and lol.
  18. Great report of a great day! It was really nice to meet you! We had a blast! Getting complimented by a Texan on my beer chugging ability was the highlight of my life, the fact that he was probably 14 is a minor technicality. This picture is my favorite thing:
  19. Lol well they said they liked trees, but then they built Wildwood Grove which is hideous.
  20. It's Six Flags. They'll open it whenever they feel like...
  21. So, the main takeaway is that Griffon and Apollo's Chariot will be open along with the flat rides in Italy BUT Alpengeist will be closing. The Alpengeist thing is a bit of a shame but not a huge deal, We'll probably still go as we have no doubt that the event will be great and I mean... is there a better drinking park anywhere for Saint Patrick's Day? No, no there is not. (Also, apologies to the person who I just told that there was no reason to double post ever. I just want to keep the opinion post different than the press-releasy post but this won't matter for most people. I do fully acknowledge what a hypocritical douche I'm being though so sorry. lol)
