I love Six Flags mobile ordering and I'll use it exclusively from now on. It's not as good as Disney's obviously and sometimes they ignore it and don't make it until you walk up and show it to them at the end of your window but it avoids so many headaches, especially if you have a dining plan AND it saves time. I don't want to paint with a broad brush because Six Flags has some great employees but sometimes the app is just smarter (or at least more experienced) than the person working the register. It can easily add lunch credits / snack credits / dinner credits or whatever however you want and make modifications and put it all in their system for them so the people at the register have no opportunity to mess it up (which they do... a lot). It's great. I'm totally sold on it.

You really can't think of anything going on in the world right now that might explain the hold up? Not one thing? -

^ Exactly We all know that there is some degree of risk whenever we leave our homes and we've all decided long ago what we're each comfortable with. Hilltopper is 100% right. Less and less people care every single day at basically every park. Even at Disney, which is really the gold standard there was a huge difference between our August trip and our trip a few months ago. As for Kings Island, personally I hope the park pulls back on some of their policies like loading B&M's in such a stupid manner that I would rather sign a waiver that says "I would rather get covid and die than watch you load coaster trains like this for one more cycle". As for social distancing? Yeah... people should do that. Even without a global pandemic I like my personal space but people love crowding people in line for reasons that I will never ever understand. -
Six Flags is probably not going to enforce any COVID policies whatsoever including this one. They put markers on the ground, “Do the Six” signs all over the place and rules on the website to trick the state into thinking that they’ll care. They might sort-of care at first since they’ll be the only park open and the news will probably be foaming at the mouth looking for a viral photo of a crowd but once Disney opens and people stop paying attention to them it will be the Wild West, it may even happen sooner... That said, please follow all state and local rules.

Yes, you can. As for El Toro, it’s sitting there with front-loaded water dummies in both trains. I’m sure it’s been testing or they had planned on testing it. Maintenance was working on it but not on the structure. It’s a mechanical issue that probably came up in pre-season testing (the ride is even certified for the season on the state website). This is probably not a big deal and it almost-definitely wasn’t planned.

Cases are rising like they are across the country. You can determine what a "surge" is since it's a made-up arbitrary term that the news likes because it sounds scary... Aside from that we were at the park on opening day. There's not a ton to report. We had a great time but we went in knowing they would be understaffed, that lines would be huge (but we didn't expect to ride much) and that El Toro would be closed. We used our four line skips (Nitro, Kingda Ka twice and Wonder Woman) and otherwise just rode a few rides early (Batman, Nitro stand-by and Justice League) with short waits, Skyway mid-day from the fort side where lines are always shorter and Wonder Woman right at park close. Otherwise we just hung out and enjoyed seeing some friends and enjoying the unseasonably warm weather. The only things of note that Joe didn't cover are that the Flash Pass line is back for Kingda Ka which makes waits shorter in theory (in reality a line behind 25 people to ride Kingda Ka is a 90 minute wait while you watch them cycle brakes, roll trains out, roll trains back, launch test trains, load trains, tell them to unload and everyone to take 2 steps back... all that good stuff. We don't know how long this delay will last and we recommend you check out great rides like Nitro and Superman blah blah blah. Whatever though, we rode it and they let people wait for the front again so it was our first Kingda Ka front seat ride since 2019. We waited 2 hours with a skip-the-line pass. It was worth it. A few shots from opening day: It’s great to be back! Nitro’s line was overflowing. Most coasters were in the same boat. Social Distancing, Great Adventure style! Pour one out for Georgia El Toro was down, but Nitro was picking up the slack Seeing a loaded Ka train being launched on Saturday was like seeing an endangered species in the wild Wild opening day sunset... PS: I didn't walk over to take Jersey Devil pictures because I figured a bunch of nerds had already done that but it looks great.

I wouldn't travel just for a log flume either but when you consider the whole package the flume definitely helps. lol -

Thoughts and prayers to the people who were tasked with marking this floor for Social Distancing. When nobody follows this I can't even be mad at them. Facebook -

Most people would probably see that last picture and look at the new thing or whatever, I was just like "Oh sh*t, they have a log flume? Maybe I should actually go there." -

Airlines have some of the most generous waivers ever right now so assuming you find an airline with a covid waiver where the don't charge a change fee with your booking (which is most of them) and the car and hotel room are refundable (which they normally are) then I say go for it. The risk is very minimal. Note that you will likely not get a flight refund but rather a credit but then you can just go to Cedar Point any other time.
