  1. Flight of Fear has it also. It's weird.
  2. I'm super bummed about Volcano still but the idea that a park with a new RMC and the world's most intense giga coaster in it even gets mentioned in this thread is sort of nuts to me.
  3. The good news is that 33% capacity doesn't mean anything and I doubt the park will ever hit that number. Yes, members will be able to make reservations on the portal just like with all the other parks but they probably won't ever run out.
  4. Six Flags over Texas is a decent pick, we liked the park but none of the coasters blew us away. Their best coaster might be the Batman clone. I wouldn’t pick it but I see where you’re coming from. Aside from that, this place has to be the champion. Ten coasters and... wow. Of the parks I’ve been to though I’m going with La Ronde. Everyone knows I don’t like that park in general but their coaster lineup does them few favors even though that wasn’t really my main issue with the place. When we went they also had an atrocious standup and that crappy Vekoma. They’ve since removed those and are in the process of building the former (arguably) worst coaster in America so uh... yay?. Even their Batman clone runs worse than it should and while the hyper is fun, it’s the weakest B&M hyper I’ve ever been on by default.
  5. Thankfully they haven’t updated this ride description so I’m cool with it...
  6. It's the 150th anniversary, you can't go into a monumental milestone like that without a fresh new website that takes the industry by storm.
  7. The only suggestion that I would have is to see if they have more flights throughout the day as a backup or check the flight schedule on flight aware to see how insane it is before it gets to you (like 9 straight flights with a 45 minute turnaround each time or something). If it’s the only flight for like 3 days then I’d maybe fly American, otherwise I’d fly Spirit because American is terrible and at least Spirit embraces their terribleness and doesn’t pretend they’re good like American does. Also if you don’t mind spending the extra money you can just buy both and then abuse the covid waiver to cancel one of them last minute (we do that sometimes now). The only problem is the refund is in flight credit and then you have to fly American...
  8. Infinity Falls is drenching and my shoes got totally submerged on it. I’m never riding it again. Atlantis isn’t terrible unless you’re in the front. When you get to the grouper, beg and plead to be anywhere but the front. If they direct you to the front anyway, honestly just fake a 102 degree fever and leave (not really lol). It also had water guns which could change everything but otherwise the only problem is the tiny unassuming drop after the main drop in the front row. Edit: Elissa beat me to it. Front row sucks. Also, not that you asked but you’ll be fine riding solo on Stanley Falls in Tampa. Packed boats get soaked but you won’t. You’ll get wet but it’s not bad.
  9. EZ Pass is only accepted in certain places Orlando and on certain parts of 528 and from what I can tell it won’t work on the portion of 528 between MCO and I-4 which is where you’ll probably use it the most. Also, there are no signs indicating where it’s accepted and where it’s not. Don’t bother bringing your EZ Pass to Orlando. You can buy a SunPass at Walgreens, Publix or CVS (it works in lanes branded Sunpass or E Pass (not to be confused with EZ Pass) so every Florida toll road. If you plan to go to Orlando a decent amount in the future (even like once a year) just buy it. There’s no monthly fee so you just have to buy it and then load some money on it. If you don’t plan to do that just pay cash, avoid tolls or just deal with the overpriced rental company fees, you’re on vacation. We bought a Sunpass and haven’t looked back but we go to Orlando a lot.
  10. Weird, I just assumed they used one call center for everything.
  11. It’s funny, I live in New York and legit keep forgetting that our parks are closed because they all suck anyway. I don’t even know the last time I didn’t leave the state to go to a park. It’s been years...
  12. I've had great luck calling Busch / SeaWorld. Knowing them, they'll totally move it. The people who work the phones are honestly the best employees at the entire company.
  13. The March event that we were all hoping was the park's full reopening is now listed as a limited capacity event. That's too bad, but maybe they'll at least expand a little.
  14. I should note that this topic is old now and I’ve definitely changed things up a bit but I still think Choice Privileges is the best hotel rewards program in the business but have diversified my credit card rewards game a lot and now usually fly Frontier (though it depends, we flew American a few weeks ago and we’ll fly United in 2 weeks, Google flights is your friend). I’ve recently focused more on cashback cards where we dump the rewards into the travel account and transferable point currencies like Chase points, though we do sometimes use the Choice card because it gets decent value if you’re good at redeeming the points. The hardcore credit card churning people won’t like to hear the term “cashback card” but I don’t care if you can earn 17 cents per dollar on a lie-flat on Emirates booked through Etihad Guest in German or whatever because I wasn’t going to buy that anyway. If you’re the kind of person that will then you’re probably not reading this thread, but if you are then ignore that, load up on Amex MR points and go to town.
  15. They could be richer if they sold it to a developer and they built a casino, luxury townhomes and 137 Tim Hortons locations.
  16. Honestly I can’t believe they haven’t closed yet. They have a ton of land within walking distance of Niagara Falls that’s probably worth an unreal amount of money and they’re using it for a dying amusement park that nobody likes. It’s bigger than the entire Clifton Hill section of the tourist area of town. You could fit so many hotel rooms / casinos / whatever that it’s just insane to me that they own this much land within walking distance of the falls and they’re using it for... this.
  17. A hypercoaster would be hilarious. They could also do the Desperado thing where it needs to fill like 12 seats for them to send the train so they would only need like 2 dispatches per hour. ... actually just buy Desperado. It’s stupid, it’s huge and it sucks so it would work well here I feel. Total cohesion. Edit: Please nobody take this post seriously and come here nerding out about track welds or something I don’t care.
  18. I can’t tell if I love or hate that commercial.
  19. Wow only a 5 minute drive? The horseshoe falls are probably closer to the front of the park than Dragon Mountain is.
  20. ... or the following weekend. You never know who might show up the following weekend.
  21. Push it out, basically every airline has waived change fees for covid. Take advantage of it.
  22. Nothing about this park makes sense. It's seriously the strangest park I've ever been to. I don't even hate it... I'm just confused by it. It's like a sh*thole SeaWorld built on the scale of Yellowstone National Park for no apparent reason. You pay admission on the honor system because you could just walk in wherever since fencing it in would be as big of an undertaking as building a wall on the US southern border. Everything about it is decrepit, shady and/or sad but then randomly they have like the best S&S tower anywhere and an Arrow that's super weird but also has crazy theming in the station and is somehow incredible. ... but then you just walk like a mile to the bear exhibit and feed them off-brand Kellogg's Corn Pops out of an Ice Cream cone and just feel bad and even more confused. Also the fact that they built this Frisbee is insane to me. It's a super modern and unnecessarily high-capacity ride because... why? When I first heard about it I was sure they bought the used carnival ride from Fantasy Island but no, they suddenly think they're Cedar Point. It's going to have (at most) 2 people on it every cycle, and it will probably only need to cycle 4 times an hour. I feel like the people that own this place are on heavy drugs 24/7. The thought of them buying a new coaster that's any more expensive than a used Zyklon that had an accident is insane to me but hey, maybe they'll do it because they're monkey-fuck nuts.
  23. A wood coaster? How about a Beast clone? Or like 30 Beast clones? Pretty sure that would only fill up like 2% of the park.
  24. Let’s bet 3 more and make it a six pack... Also I’m totally prepared to be wrong but I feel like they’re crazy enough to roll with this. I don’t think it’s a typo. I think at worst it’s a crazy idea that they might re-think later.
