  1. Posted for the world to see: I’m already getting a buzz for free in my head
  2. Oh you know... just scrolling through the operating calendar
  3. This ride is just so cute. I love it.
  4. I wouldn’t go, but that’s just me...
  5. lol honestly 35 degrees at a park (if the rides are open) sounds incredible, you can dress for that. An Orlando park in July? There's just nothing you can do.
  6. It was actually about 60 degrees. Just a gorgeous day... That said, riding coasters in the cold is an absolute blast. Pantheon looks great but the closest view we got was from Germany so I’m not sure how far along it is.
  7. It was great hanging out with you yesterday! Yeah, anyone on the fence about this event needs to go. Go and support them so they bring it back (just make sure it’s a bit over 42 degrees). We had a great time and I kept having to remind myself that it was February 6th. We weren’t sure we’d be able to fill a day with just 3 operating coasters but honestly, I wish the day were longer. We almost didn’t go this weekend. We just got back from Orlando on Tuesday morning (we got covid tests, chill) and it seemed kind of stupid to drive 7 hours to go to a half-closed park and on the way drive within 50 feet of an indoor park in Jersey that’s six hours closer and (all things considered) much cheaper but we love BGW and it’s pretty unprecedented for a park this far north to totally do away with the off-season so we wanted to be a part of it and support it. After going there though, I feel like it was well worth it. It didn’t feel like a weekend at a half-closed BGW, it just felt like a weekend at BGW. Alpengeist and Verbolten are great, InvadR and the swing are a blast and in general I just love the vibe of the park and their insane alcohol selection. Also, they didn’t half-ass this Mardi Gras event at all. I’m pretty impressed with how quickly they turned around the last event and got ready for this one. Hopefully they bring this back. I feel like it will only get better once they can run more indoor entertainment and run the indoor ride.
  8. Cedar Point will now have an age limit for their employee housing. I’m not sure how many people this will impact but it seems like the opposite of what I’d expect a notoriously-short-staffed park to do in a pandemic where they may not get any international help again. https://sanduskyregister.com/news/302480/cedar-point-to-have-housing-age-limit/?fbclid=IwAR2ngqxCwwpE0GtVBnvlGne6MxYn2zVD0COcrbj7DqzZKS9a6ADVVjh-LOc
  9. I'd love to believe that. My gut says no, but it's not totally outlandish.
  10. I never thought I'd see the day that people looked back fondly on the Shapiro days.
  11. Per queue times it looks like both rides opened at some point on Saturday but never opened on Sunday. It would never be scheduled that way so I'd assume it's mechanical in both cases. Then again if winds exceeded half-a-mile per hour on Sunday then maybe Pandemonium was closed for that because it has the dumbest wind policy of any coaster in America and possibly the world.
  12. When we were there the other day we saw it testing a partial circuit. I thought of recording it but I was pretty sure there would be some nerd camped out all day waiting a crazy camera waiting for it to cycle so I bought a beer and rode Manta instead. It looks like I made the right call... Speaking of SeaWorld, Dolphin Days has very quietly been budget cut for a month and replaced with a trainer occasionally showing up around the dolphin pool which they occasionally do anyway. It's listed as being closed "for refurbishment" but I mean... what are they doing? Polishing the dolphins?
  13. Honestly maybe I’m wrong but I’m totally expecting them to just open the whole park except maybe Batwing because... it’s Batwing.
  14. Six Flags America is opening a full month early this year! - Facebook
  15. So we went to the park on Sunday and had a great time. We also checked out the hippo insider tour and the sloth tour which we had never done before. We really enjoyed both and thought they were both absolutely worth the money, especially the sloth tour where you get to pet them and (for obvious reasons) can get much closer than you can to a hippo. You can’t get quite as close to the hippo obviously but the trainers there are amazing and have some incredible stories and information about their three hippos. The trainers alone made it worth the price of admission. They actually had to cut them off because if not they would have been there excitedly telling us hippo stories until midnight.
  16. I’m really not, I love the company but this last year-or-so... lol But they technically eventually opened their parks in the states where they could and then closed them super early for the season for no discernible reason, yeah. Lol
  17. “Let’s open two months late for no reason and then give everyone free money as an apology for how stupid that is.” Hey from a guest’s perspective... yay! Did I mention that Six Flags managed to charge a huge percentage of their member base every singe month they were closed and every single month since because they gave them all an extra line skip benefit for a few years that cost them $0? Lol god, I’m sorry. I really do like this company. I’m trying to stop endlessly dogging on them but like... they make it so easy.
  18. Crazy to see Wild Waves looking like a grey mangled mess of metal shit like that... Oh, it was totally unscathed? Carry on then...
  19. I feel like the guy Gillian’s hired to set the park on fire and make it look like an accident for the insurance money put the wrong place into the GPS.
  20. Get ready! You’ll have plenty of time to get ready...
  21. Apparently the park sent out an email saying that Kings Dominion will open on March 22nd! Oh, did I say March? I meant May. Alpengeist, InvadR and Verbolten are open tomorrow. This company is dumb.
  22. Same with Frontier, but if I told someone to try that then that would be the one time they checked and they'd get mad at me. lol
  23. Yeah watch out for the personal item size with Frontier. That’s the one thing. Pack light... Anyway, is this topic off topic enough yet?
  24. Famous last words but I've had worse luck with JetBlue, American and United than Frontier. I haaaaaaaaaate JetBlue.
