  1. It sucks but I get it. If I were them I wouldn’t open it in 2021 either...
  2. Six Flags is now running the drive through from the 4th through the 10th after the park is scheduled to be closed for the season. I love this move. Low risk-high reward.
  3. I didn’t think the park actually owned that place, did they? I remember that we almost stayed there once but then I read the reviews and it sounded like it was a big-time sh*thole.
  4. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, which is growing on me. It’s not the smoothest, it feels like it was designed by an alcoholic monkey and if you stacked all of the midcourse brake runs from end to end it would stretch to Miami and back seven times but the music gimmick is really fun and for some reason I’m starting to like the thing. Maybe I’m just trying to be a hipster about it or something, I don’t know. Lol
  5. Yup... Six Flags is still running circles around the rest of the regional park industry and it’s horrifying.
  6. In regards to the Oziris thing, when we rode Oziris we were expecting it to be a really weak invert after the reviews on here but it was actually really good so maybe it’s running better in general or we just caught it on a good day. The first drop is excellent, nothing else was super forceful but it wasn’t weak either. The theming elements and tunnel bumped it up a bit for me. It’s not a top-tier invert but for me it’s easily better than something like Talon, Great Bear, Ice Dragon post-dueling or Silver Bullet. I’d call it average. I have no clue how this thing will ride but every single B&M invert is good so no matter what, it’s a win.
  7. You're not missing anything, it would normally be here but this year is a shitshow so I doubt that they even know. Everything currently closed is likely closed for budget (aside from the play structures and climbing areas), not maintenance aside from SheiKra which is down mechanical and has been for weeks. I'm assuming Congo is just closed because they moved the crew to Stanley Falls since it's a more suitable ride for the winter months (and also all other months but... lol).
  8. If you ride Stanley Falls solo don't wont to get that wet and that's what I did a lot because Brit wanted no part of it. Plus if you sit up front on really any flume your feet are covered by the front of the boat so you're golden.
  9. I find the Kings Dominion Flight of Fear to be really smooth and the Kings Island one to be much rougher but I still enjoy those more than the outdoor unthemed ones. They're honestly great rides and I find them incredibly underrated.
  10. Update: Christmas came early for me (From Sunday) Also, it contains the cleanest water in the city of Tampa. The park closed early yesterday and will remain closed today due to a water main break. I guess I almost got 2020ed but they filled it up just in time.
  11. I don't think Cedar Point could pull this off even if they did it well but that event had no chance to succeed anyway because it was the worst thing ever.
  12. I mean... it's a mostly un-themed coaster train. The shots are great and if this marketing works for them then more power to them I guess. I'm looking forward to the ride but I don't care what the train looks like.
  13. That’s pretty funny. Yeah, the seats even cut back for the left field foul line and that makes no sense for any other purpose. That’s a baseball field.
  14. Thanks for the breakdown, Mike. That's unfortunate news about Montaña Rusa. A modern panoramic wheel in the middle of Mexico City actually sounds incredible though so I do like that part of the project. I feel like tourists will flock to that.
  15. That tree is actually super cool. It's pixel mapped and there's like a 10 minute show that they do every 30 minutes when the park is open. It's a shame you would sort of miss out on that with the drive-through.
  16. They really aren't playing around. I was just thinking "that's weird, I hadn't heard about Hong Kong having a surge" so I Googled it and apparently a city of 7.5 million people is shutting down for 2 weeks because they're at 88 cases and 0 deaths on a seven day rolling average.
  17. I come bearing fantastic news... Congo Rapids is now closed for refurbishment so they're finally filling Stanley Falls (which has been closed since the parks reopened). Hurry it up, you guys have until Sunday.
  18. The fact that all of their lights trip when it rains also doesn't help the POVs from the first night. They should have honestly cancelled it (or... you know... maybe they should fix that). I still wouldn't go but the second night does look better since the Christmas lights were actually on. At least Green Lantern is closed so that's one plus over just going on the weekends.
  19. ... and as long as the ride actually operates for a change
  20. Screamscape is a joke and even they don't seem confident in this one, but at the same time it seems like a reasonable-enough guess and wouldn't surprise me at all.
  21. This market probably appeals to a wider age range but I’d feel the same way is Sesame Place offered a 10 year pass. Obviously the market is kids who love the IP, but what parent would bet on their kids being just as into it for a decade? That isn’t going to happen. Also the pass with the same perks is $299 a year from Legoland Florida and it’s guaranteed to go up over the next decade so that’s a great deal if it actually appeals to someone, I’m just not sure that person exists.
  22. They might be expecting a few people to extend their holiday week since they’re running two Orca encounter shows but it’s really hard to say. Note that Kraken may be closed for budget since it’s a Monday but it also may not. They just make shit up as the go along. The website no longer lists that it’s closed on weekdays but it’s a holiday week now. They might throw that message back up.
