  1. Keep a very close watch on the SeaWorld rides page. They may go back to budget cutting Kraken during the week and forcing you to go there on Friday if you want to ride it. You could also fly home Friday afternoon and pop in in the morning to ride just that and leave after spending a full day there earlier in the trip since you have a pass anyway. It probably won’t open with the park because they could save like $8 by opening it late so they’ll jump on that incredible opportunity but it should open at 10 or 11. If you don’t like theming, screens or Harry Potter and only want coasters then yeah, don’t go to Universal. I’m honestly having a hard time giving you advice since our preferences differ so much other than to watch SeaWorld’s budget cut page (I mean ride status page) like a hawk. Do you like animal stuff? What do you like in parks besides coasters? I’m just trying to think here... if you don’t I don’t even know what you would do at SeaWorld for a full day.
  2. There's no reason for any park not to do this right now.
  3. That ride dying would have been like the one good thing that came out of 2020 and no... they couldn't even let us have that
  4. This piece of shit is open again for some reason...
  5. I agree that making me a mod was a questionable decision at best
  6. Just for that reason I hope they RMC it and add 12 barrel rolls. PS: Best wishes to Josh as well.
  7. I'm not used to saying "The problem with this ride in it's prior location was poor maintenance but Indiana Beach will take much better care of it" Also, this Quimera thing is so crazy that nobody has mentioned that they're naming a ride "Polyp" yet.
  8. Six Flags used to contract Oak Island Creative for Holiday in the Park so in short, they didn't do it which is why it looks nice. I'm not sure what the deal is now though. Oak Island Creative no longer exists. I believe they sold to Keen Designs but I'm not sure if they exist either. I'd imagine they're still using some outside contractor though.
  9. Two things 1) I bet they're praying that someone crashes into Cyborg and totals it 2) Unpopular opinion: Six Flags is running circles around the rest of the industry this year. While their actual enforcement of the covid policies is complete ass, their ability to make creative business decisions and implement their crazy ideas on a dime AND to run their parks closer to "normal" than anyone else is commendable. They're running all of their rides all day, they're selling Flash Passes, they're coming up with creative ways to make people un-pause or never pause meberships, they brought back Wild f*cking Safari, they did Fright Fest haunts, they did Holiday in the Park and now they're doing this here and at Magic Mountain. They also have contingency plans for everything. If Murphy shuts them down, within hours they'll be able to just switch to this seven days a week. I'm happy that my home park isn't a Busch park or a Cedar Fair park this year. I'm much happier with Six Flags and it feels wrong saying that. I understand that this is a Bizarro-World 2020 parallel universe but yeah... go Six Flags.
  10. I really don’t get the hostility here... pay it or don’t pay it, there’s no need for everyone to get pissy with eachother over that. Who cares? Whether or not it’s worth it to someone is totally subjective. Anyway, thanks for sharing that update with us. Great photos. Sorry that this bickering seems to be overshadowing it.
  11. Maybe? I feel like they must be almost out of flume sections to replace at this point. It’s practically a brand new ride. And yeah, I get why they don’t run Kingda Ka (a combination of money to run the ride, money to open up that section and the fact that mechanically the ride would be super pissed) but they run it through mid-November and we’ve been on it when it was below freezing. That sh*t makes you feel alive.
  12. Cyborg (the ride that we all wanted to die) is testing because it’s 2020 and why not?
  13. There's going to be a 200 foot RMC at a park that already has one of the best coaster lineups in America. Even if it's the lamest RMC ever I mean... holy shit. PS: That's not the vibe I got from that video at all. I think it's going to be amazing but I also suck at judging coasters from POVs.
  14. I've never noticed. We usually just get an immediate fastpass for it with like 1-2 refreshes and totally minimal effort. Pre-Covid we never really did stand-by for anything at Disney. It's just such an easy ride to Fastpass.
  15. I wouldn't go there without an AP until park-hopping comes back. I really wouldn't. I really like Test Track and Frozen Ever After a lot. Mission Space is fun. Soarin' is fun. Spaceship Earth is fun. I wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes for any other ride at Epcot. I feel the same way about them as I do about Fantasyland dark rides. They're fun if they have short lines but they're not the same level of quality as you would expect from modern-day Disney (I have a bit of a soft-spot for Living with the Land though and I don't really know why).
  16. What do Navi River Journey and Flight of Passage have to do with animals? Should they replace them with a petting zoo or something? What do gas powered cars have to do with the future? What does a creepy haunted mansion have to do with a magical kingdom? Epcot purists are the most pretentious people in the theme park fandom and you can't convince me otherwise. I know a lot of people won't agree with me on this and that's okay but I don't like Epcot at all, at least not when you compare it to the other parks at WDW. I feel like as a passholder I would enjoy it because it's a great place to walk, there are great dining options and there are some okay rides in Future World that never have lines. Also, there ARE a couple of rides there that I really do like (like Frozen and Test Track) but as someone who needs to buy a ticket and can't park hop there is no effing way I would go there. It's Disney Springs plus 2 stand-out rides with a $130 cover charge except that I actually think Disney Springs is nicer looking (Future World is hideous). Epcot needs better rides desperately and I'm absolutely thrilled that this coaster is a thing (and Ratatouille which isn't mind-blowing but it's a lot of fun and will be one of the better rides at Epcot by default). The great news is that every complaint I just listed is something that Disney is currently working on. I could see me loving Epcot in 5-10 years. I know people like different things but I can't wrap my head around the fact that people are mad about this awesome ride with a great IP replacing a ride where Ellen and Bill Nye taught you about the future of energy (Which for a long time was sponsored by ExxonMobil because lol). Now THAT was education! Then again these are the same people who thought that Frozen Ever After didn't belong on Norway because rock trolls and a talking snowman weren't as educational as three-headed-trolls and a talking tree.
  17. I'm sure that's not the criteria. They'll reopen when the governor arbitrarily decides that they can. There will be no metrics or science involved but there will be a press conference about how they're following the science anyway.
  18. I’ve had a few drinks but this is the scenario as I imagine it. I’m at least 0.001% sure this is what happened but in my head it’s 100% what happened because that’s what I choose to believe. The Ferris wheel is sitting 20 feet from the bobsled. I just picture the park president standing next to the two rides talking to the demo crew like “Okay so we need to cut budget and this thing is obviously a giant expensive piece of shit disaster can you get rid of it?” “Say no more” And then the next day he shows up for work and is like “Where the f*ck is my Ferris wheel and why is this expensive piece of shit still here???” That has to be it. As stupid as that scenario is I feel like it’s less stupid than them having to choose what ride they should remove for budget citing reliability, cost and capacity and not picking that thing. I like the thing but it shouldn’t exist.
  19. I agree because this park sucks and that's probably the second or third best ride there by default but I'm shocked that they cut a ride from this park for budget and it wasn't that one. Shocked...
  20. So they went to that area of the park with the perpetually-broken-since-forever-low-capacity-that-has-to-close-early-if-it-actually-opens Alpine Bobsleds and the Ferris Wheel looking for something to remove for budget and they came up with the Ferris Wheel? Oh...
  21. This is the most hilariously expensive drive through light event I've ever heard of. $20 per person (not per car) with a two person minimum per car. So for a family of four it's $80 to drive through the park and look at lights? I know it's Southern California but LOL. I feel like the main motivating factor here is just that they want people to un-freeze memberships and they can go back to billing them monthly.
  22. Thanks for the update! I’m looking forward to seeing what’s announced.
