  1. Thunderbolt? Come on now I feel like they’re mostly going to get rid of rides that are maintenance-intensive or unpopular. Thunderbolt is very popular and not going anywhere ever. If they were going to remove a coaster from that park, it should absolutely 100% be Goliath and we all know it. Bert is absolutely on to something with Spinsanity and Cyborg. Those rides are perpetually broken and they don’t seem to be very popular with anyone. They’re just all-around bad rides and bad investments and nobody would miss them if they were gone forever. If I were corporate those train wrecks would be at the top of my shit list. Literally...
  2. The walk-through event was confirmed on the conference call. This is the extent of what we know... Link LOL if they un-freeze the memberships.
  3. I'll leave this right here... Full conference call transcript.
  4. They're doing Christmas Candylane, that weekend just won't be a part of it.
  5. I feel like I'm being too negative today but I also just love dogging on Hershey and Carowinds every late fall / winter for being dumb. It's a holiday tradition of mine.
  6. Hershey has announced a bonus weekend with the Christmas ride lineup but no Christmas lights or attractions but for the same price... get hyped. PS: Six Flags Great Adventure will be open that weekend also, in it's entirety.
  7. It sounds like this is a Christmas event that will run from 12-8 every day so the focus won't be lights, it won't be open for Christmas break (it ends on the 21st) and I'm assuming the food that you can sample will be made by Cedar Fair (hopefully I'm wrong on that but I doubt it). The only coasters operating will be Copperhead Strike, Afterburn and the Wild Mouse. ... I seriously question the decision-making of this company. I also don't see why anyone who's not a passholder would pay for this. I'm sorry for being more negative than normal but Cedar Fair makes me scratch my head.

  9. ^ Magic Kingdom has been running indoor shows for months (only because they haven’t found a way to layoff or furlough animatronics yet) with masks and social distancing and there have been no cases traced back to their parks or any theme parks since reopening... Personally I think It’s great to see shows returning. Some of them already have capacity issues though so hopefully they have some unique solutions so people don’t have to show up hours early on weekends...
  10. I didn’t realize that much of Rim Runner was still there since I only go there at night to ride Chaos and leave.
  11. I mean... in a world of social distancing they’re probably pretty well positioned. If they ran this place at 25% capacity that would probably be equal to the population of some small countries.
  12. South Korea's virus response just seems so impressive... especially because this entire time you could have ridden an operating Intamin pre-fab .
  13. I guess my tastes in coasters aren't that refined.... it goes 91 miles per hour and has a 300 foot drop. That's cool as sh*t. It also has tons of airtime, it's butter smooth, it hauls ass the entire time. It does exactly what you would want a giga coaster to do. thrillseeker, I feel like based on your post you're going to love the thing.
  14. If it's anything like it was 2 years ago you can straight-up wheel in a cooler full of beer. I think they've also since built a beer garden. Maybe a local knows more about the specific rules... PS: God, I love this park. I hate how much I love this park because it's in the middle of nowhere but I love this park.
  15. Cool, I'll fire it up and not open it for the first 4 hours of the day for realism purposes...
  16. Queue Times says it topped out at 75 minutes, which means if you waited 4 hours for Candymonium then you deserved to stand there for that entire time and suffer for your bad decision making.
  17. It would be faster and a better use of your time to leave the park, drive to the airport, fly to Orlando, Uber to Seaworld and ride Mako than to wait 4 hours for Candymonium... (Or you could just ride Skyrush)
  18. If Holiday in the Park at Darien Lake ever becomes a thing I demand a POV of Moose on the Loose in the snow...
  19. Yeah, it's not like they'd have to run much... they would just have to put up a bunch of lights and run the flats and a few coasters... probably some combination of Viper, Mind Eraser, Boomerang and the kiddy coaster. Mind Eraser is built like a truck and has proven time and time again that it can run in literally anything in New England. Viper probably can too if they're okay with maybe having to shovel out the turn before the tunnel if things get crazy. If they hate their maintenance department and have a crane that they like to play with they can also run Tantrum with one train and wheel heaters and hope for the best, That sounds like something they would do. I probably wouldn't try it on a windy day but I mean... it's not like it would have to run every day of the event.
  20. This is possibly the weirdest place in the world so while I wouldn't think they'd ever be able to afford a new coaster, buying one for no reason and making us all wonder what they're smoking up there would be on-brand I guess.
  21. Is the good pierogi place open? Asking for me...
  22. I love reading Fright Fest reports. Always a good time...
  23. Their season pass renewal system is running on the same server as Lightning Rod.
  24. I just honestly can't believe they staffed it...
